I’ve been keeping my b450-xt alive for the past 3 years with replacement cushions. However, the headband parts started to become brittle and it’s been falling apart, so time for an upgrade. I got just got the S650-XT and now I see the software issues everyone talks about. I see the improvements in hardware quality, but if I can’t answer a call and/or it continues to shut down unexpectedly, then I’ll be returning it in ur next 3 weeks y going back to a new B450-XT.

I paid $250 for mine only to find out that there is a software issue which makes these headsets keep disconnecting overall I like these headsets but if they got that issue fixed it would be great drop calls with the truck driver is a definite deal breaker!!

I always bought Blueparrott Headset got 4 of them some are older and still works lol i am not really surprise of the headsets ! they all work great !! last one is B550XT still going but how ever the cushion came off and can not put it in place, Over All you get what you Pay ! Quality ! :)

My friend gave me these headphones because he said they only had the one earcup, but im enjoying these heaphones, i like the battery life on these. Way better than any other Bluetooth headphones i have. Now im going to look into the two ear model.

I personally think the S650 XT and that’s the one I have is a terrible terrible terrible upgrade from the 450 and the 550 that’s my opinion it feels good doesn’t always react good and there has been a major update but I believe we need one more. in my experience I’ve had several headsets unfortunately spent a couple thousand dollars most likely. I believe the Garman diesel 200 headset is the best headset on the market. I realize it too has a few problems but sound quality is excellent. Wireless range is excellent. The connectivity and pairing is excellent, I’ve seen nothing I’ve worn nothing. I’ve heard nothing any better than a Garmin diesel 200 and I’m not spelling diesel the way they do I believe they spell it, Dezil anyway with that being said the Garman headset 200 is $399.99 so it’s quite expensive but I do believe the Blue Parrot S650 XT could have another update and I agree the volume is just not quite loud enough almost and remember I have the extra speaker that you don’t have it I do. I enjoyed your review and I never said at any time but Blue Parrot was a terrible headset only the S650 XT but it’s definitely not the best. Thank you for your time Big John, the long-haul kid oh and by the way, I’m not a kid anymore. I’m 60 years old but I’ve had that CB handle for 45 years.

I have been extremely loyal to Blue Parrot for my entire career of over a decade. I broke my loyalty for the ClearDryve 220, despite my better judgement about Rand McNally electronics for 1 reason: true over the ear cup, meaning the cup sits on your head, not your ear. This is way more comfortable for long calls, and provides better noise isolation. Clearly the 650 is Blue Parrot’s response to the ClearDryve 220, but it looks like the 650 ear cup still isn’t a true over the ear design. Can you confirm?

Mine would randomly hang up on phone conversations and the other times it would randomly disconnect without me knowing it as well as the audio would not activate while on a call. I would have to press the anc button to then get it to turn on the audio so I could hear the other person on the line. I think it would be resolved later on with a firmware update but I had returned it and ordered the Jabra2 75. I have been a big fan of Blueparrott for quite some time but it would be interesting to see a comparison between the 450-xt's or the ones reviewed in this video with the Jabra evolve2 75!

Same issues returned one and exchanges for another both of them did same thing . While one does it less often than the other the 650 has me regretting this headset. I love the 550 though.

I just bit the bullet and got the single ear unit today at a Loves. I have two old 450s that are about wore out, gonna 💩 can one as it barely holds a charge for an hour anymore. I'll keep the other as a spare. I'm not to keen on the track and the pass through most button. I'm used to grabbing my other BPs right where those buttons are, gonna take a while to get used to not grabbing. I've already had an issue within the first hour that I had on an old 350 years ago. It freezes up and while it shows that it's connected to your headset, but you can't hear or talk, can't even shut it off. The only way to fix it is plugging it in for just a few seconds. Gonna have to call up customer service and get a software update I think.

We can’t be using the same headset. The mic is amazing… most of the time. But it picks up all noise and makes a popping noise all the time. The same goes when the ANC is on. I think it’s a software issues. But I’m gonna keep them because they work great during Skype, FB live, tagged live, business calls, video recording on my iPad, and more. That beeping noise is very annoying. I’m gonna keep them because (for some reason) collect and buy all trucker headsets and gamer headsets.

I have an issue with mine brand new. Everything is setting up nice however I can't get it to recognize any voice commands. Literally the only thing it hears me say is "Hello Blue Parrot" but then doesn't recognize any voice commands and will not voice answer any calls or will not let me text via voice. That’s a tough question to answer because we can’t speak for any other company on how they go about their refurbishing process or their guarantee. Refurbished can sometimes be a loosely thrown term, so safest best is to get new but always worth a try on the refurbished.

Great review, thank you. I just bought the S650-XT. Is there a way to find out if ANC or HearThrough is on or off either through the app or a voice prompt? When I press the ANC button I don't hear the difference between the two or a voice prompt telling me which of the two features are on. I have a Jabra earbuds and when you press the ANC button it tells you either HearThrough or ANC. Thanks.

I have the 550 XT the cheap ear cushion falls to pieces and gets super hot when talking for a long time. Also it becomes uncomfortable after long periods of time on your ear. ( fatigue ) The software is a waste of time once you set it up. As for firmware updates, they are simply non existent after the initial release of the product. I have used these for 5+ years driving trucks and doing long distance here in Australia. The quality of sound and zero noise for the other person on the phone is amazing. my friends can't believe how good it is. battery time is amazing as well. It doesn't need charging for a week of use for me. Sadly those few downsides are a deal breaker for me and I moved to a set of open air, as buds irritate my ears even more.

Unfortunately no you could use the PTT feature on the BlueParrott app but there could be a delay. There’s probably some radio solutions or other types of headsets that could do this

@@richiranas7247 they told me I had 7 days for a return. I bought mine there too. So i had mine a few weeks now. I've noticed that when i turn it on it works fine. Then I'll go to adjust the headset on my head then I'll hear a beep. I don't push any buttons i just grab it by the ear piece and move it. After i hear that beep is when it starts to have problems. I'm not sure what's going on but i hope it's something they can fix. I know for a fact that I'm not hitting any buttons. Usually I'll just restart the head and that fixes it until it happens again

Yes, had my S650 for a month now. Cracking, popping, random disconnect. Lady in head set comes on and says "power on" 100 times a day randomly. Connection is spotty and always never seems to be connected when I get a phone call. Highly dissapointed..disappointed... going back to my old B450....it never has failed to work perfectly everyday

The blue parrot app that you down load to your phone will take over your phone where it won't ring like it should. Had problems with my phone anyway I have the z fold 3. Don't know whats going on with blue parrot I have had many head sets and never had any problems over the years but now I had to switch to something else.

Same design as the 550 which for me was a complete piece of crap put it on and the head set broke right away. It kept working but the part that goes over your head cracked right at the base where it separates to extend that plastic broke. Called blue parrot and got hung up on before anyone talked to me took it back to the store and was told to call blue parrot ended up just throwing that POS out the window and bought the Plantronics 5200.

@@reveurerrant3323 I have normal sized ear and Blueparrott for some reason like to make the ear cups just small enough where they don wrap around the ear but sit just on top on the rim of my hear creating hotspots over extended periods of time. When compared to the 450-xt's I find the 450's a bit more comfortable. If Blueparrott came out with bigger earcups for these they would be near perfect apart from them desperately needing a firmware update.

I have the Jabra Evolve2 75 and the on-ear cups are a pain. I'll be returning them. The other option is Jabra Evolve2 85 but they are out of stock at the moment.

@@reveurerrant3323 Do the 75's hurt your ears over extended periods of time? My only issue with the 650's is the foam padding isn't deep enough and my ear rests against the plastic speaker housing within the earcup and that then gets to hurting of a half-hour or so.

I have had this headset for more than a year. Noise cancellation is good, although there are several issues--one of them is the inability to use the "mute" button in Google Meet calls on PC (and not on phone app, in which you can). It's strange because it was possible to do this with the previous model, the 550XT. Has anyone solved this?

Interesting, you shouldn't have been able to do that on the 550XT either. There's no integrations with Blueparrot headsets we're aware of that will give you advanced features like seeing you're muted in the app, or being able to answer/end calls away from the PC.

It's sold as either the single or the double ear set. I don't think you can buy the single and just order the other ear later. I just got mine at a Loves truck stop today. They had both. $219 for the single, $249 for the double.
