I have the Yealink portable version. I thought the voice sounded the most natural in the Yealink & I own both Poly & Logitech Bluetooth headsets. So far I have not had a customer tell me that it sounded like I was under water like they did on my 2 Bluetooth headsets .The Yealink feels cheaper but for me it’s all about signal reliability & the DECT 6.0 has shown that it doesn’t interfere with my wifi & Bluetooth music devices I play while working in a very fast paced, high dial, work from home position

I've been using the Focus UC (the original one) for about 4 years now. It has finally kicked the bucket and started falling apart. So 4 years of daily use is pretty darn good. I will say that this thing has outstanding mic noise cancellation and folks on my meetings at work have never heard my 4 kids screaming even when they are in the same room as me. Recently my newborn was crying while I was holding him and no one heard him while I was trying to talk. The problem with Poly (formerly Plantronics) is they are horrible at bug fixing, at least from my experience. About 3 years ago they released a firmware update that essentially made the audible 'Mute On' voice become stuck and call out every time you mute. You can flip this off in the settings to just a tone, but the setting changes do nothing.. Despite countless complaints on forums, they have never fixed it. This is just one example so I am very tempted to give Jabra a shot.

I had a terrible experience with my Jabra Evolve2 85. Specifically, the boom mic started to work erratically after a year of use. I made sure to update it with the latest firmware but did not resolve the issue. I did my research and found out that this is a common issue as well.

Here’s my challenge: when I use headsets (I have the fanciest one from yealink right now over both ears), I can’t hear mySELF talking. So it’s like speaking deaf. I heart the other person great in the headset but I get no sound feedback when I’m talking. Imagine covering your ears w your hands and trying to have a conversation. It makes me speak to loud to the other person because I don’t hear myself loud and clear when I respond. Do any of these headsets mitigate this so you can hear both the other person and yourself talk?

Thank you for such a brief summary. Way better than tons of long reviews of each device separately. It saved me a lot of time. You explained how dedicated buttons work (like MS Teams button). It was unclear from manufacturers sites :) and also sound test showed that unfortunately every brand sounds artificially. So I will try something like Rode Wireless Go 2. It would be great to hear your studio recording mic against blender as a reference.
@HeadsetAdvisor2 жыл бұрын
You're welcome! The reason you will hear some artificial sound is because when there's a noise canceling microphone it's using technology to try and reduce the background noise. So, there's a sacrifice that has to be made vs a microphone like Rode from a voice quality standpoint will be a better way to go if noise in your environment isn't an issue and you're looking for the best mic sound.

All of these headsets have a digital effect - a narrow audio spectrum - compared to microphones used for podcasting. As background, I currently use a podcasting microphone for remote court hearings because I have not found a headset with a comparable high-quality microphone.

Hey Aaron, most business headsets won’t give you as good of quality as a podcast type microphone because they add noise canceling technology. This is good because it helps reduce background noise in louder working environments, but on the flip side it sacrifices on voice quality in comparison to a podcast type microphone. The best sounding microphone we’ve tested so far is on the Tilde Pro. The biggest challenge for noise cancellation in microphones is blocking out voices. Are there any bluetooth headsets for computers that wont allow my callers to hear my dogs barking that also has a mute button?
@HeadsetAdvisor8 ай бұрын
The Orosound Tilde Pro is the best we've tested, or you can consider adding noise canceling software like neep.com

OroSound looks great, but seems for business and enterprise use one :/!?
@HeadsetAdvisor2 жыл бұрын
Yes all of the headsets on this list are made for business use. The orosound does do very good for music too though (not audiophile quality but good enough for most)

Can you get the Yealink headset with the noise canceling microphone?
@HeadsetAdvisor2 жыл бұрын
Hi Alexandra, the noise canceling mic is built in already :)

I had to listen to it a few times, but the Jabra mic seems to win out.

I have the evolve2 75 with version 1.7.4 and my microphone quality is so bad that my counterpart can't understand me. Are there any known bugs?
@HeadsetAdvisor2 жыл бұрын
Hi Marius, we haven't heard of any known bug in the microphone quality on this headset. Did you order from an Authorized Jabra Reseller? Just want to rule out it's not a counterfeit headset.
@shaunbrenton16602 жыл бұрын
I am interested in this very same headset and this comment concerns me. Were you by chance using your PC's built in bluetooth? or via the dongle?
@mariuskonig66972 жыл бұрын
@@shaunbrenton1660 i use the dongle. Jabra has already confirmed that there is currently a bug with the firmware. There should be an update at the end of June, beginning of July. Whether it really fixes that I do not know. You can find a lot about it on Reddit. Currently, the microphone with dongle or Bluetooth is shameful. I still use it with the microphone flipped up. It is a compromise. But it is in my eyes the best headset on the market. Provided the update really helps.

Any of these that use airtube/ radiation free head sets ?
@HeadsetAdvisor Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately not that we're aware of. Any Bluetooth or DECT headsets emit radiation, but from what we're awre of the amount is so low and not considered harmful (significantly less than cell phones). A wired headset like the Discover D722u would be the only option we can think of if you want to fully avoid any radiation.

The sound test would have been better if you had background conversations. Also you need to play the background noise uncancelled to form a baseline. Close to being a good video. Nice watch.

Those are the best headphone microphones for business calls? They're not bad, but I think I'll just go for gaming headsets
@HeadsetAdvisor2 ай бұрын
@@blackhawkX02 they prioritize mic noise cancellation so you sacrifice a bit of pure mic quality for benefit of being heard clearly in noisy environments.
@marcelalucas727421 күн бұрын
You should do a hair test, some mics pick the noise when hair rubs close to the mic area.

Jabar pick up every sound. Why is that your favorite
@HeadsetAdvisor Жыл бұрын
It doesn’t pick up every sound but headset noise cancellation is limited to the processing power of the headset so it won’t cancel everything out. We are working on a software solution that could solve this. Make sure your subscribed for future updates soon.

Maybe I'm missing context on what the baseline should be but they all sound terrible compared to the mod mic.
@HeadsetAdvisor Жыл бұрын
It sounds like we didn't setup the proper context. Being that each of these headsets have noise cancelling in the microphones, you won't get as good of mic quality in comparison to a ModMic for example. Most people who work from home, in the office or on the go will usually have different needs from those who would get a ModMic. When you work at home, in the office etc.. it's crucial in many cases to have mic noise cancellation to reduce the background noise callers would otherwise hear. That comes at a cost of sacrificing some mic quality, but for business calls/meetings will be acceptable for most.
