Which means all the extra hardware (adjustable foot pedals, rod holders, etc) they've added onto this model had be manually attached by labor too. That labor is probably more costly to Lifetime than what they pay for some of the hardware itself...which I think makes it more impressive.

Pretty accurate review. I've had mine for almost 3 months now? On the 4th of July I took it on a 16 mile round trip in motorboat infested waters battling 2 to 3 ft wake most of the way. Great stability even in choppy water. Seat was super comfortable and being able to adjust the seat to switch between lazy/recovery paddling and jacking it up for more agressive paddling makes a world of a difference. And I like the fact that I can recline and take in a view of the stars at night. The stock paddle is ok but you are right, pay the extra $$ for a decent paddle. As for the holes where the paddle holding bungie is and the storage compartment not being water tight, I may have taken on 2 cups of water in the hull over 6 maybe 7 hours on the water. It takes on little to no water in calm conditions. It tracks very well, even in windy conditions. I am noticing a little bit of stretching in the seat material but since there are straps under it to tighten it up I don't see having an issue with it for a long time. The only thing I didn't like about this kayak was where the side handles are mounted to the boat there are sharp edges that I kept gouging chunks out of my knuckles but that was all my bad. I wasn't using good paddle technique. I learned real quick from that pain. dig your reviews man, keep em coming!

Thanks for the great videos Dan, I am a lifetime surfer now at 65 settled into northern Idaho with some of the most beautiful lakes and rivers. Without a vessel it felt like a "look but don't touch" strip club. Now I can go places on the water that you can't find on foot, a bike or car. You made this happen for me. Tamarack Pro with a Aqua bound stingray hybrid, life is beautiful. Oh yeah, respect for the water and the surroundings, it shouldn't need to be said, but I'm grateful that you made it a point. Respect the water and the land and it will return the favor in spades. Keep Idaho secret, but come and enjoy; leave no trace.

Bought my wife one about 2 weeks ago. She loves it. I will say though, make sure you either latch the seat latch closed, or remove it all together when transporting. There are two small posts the latch slips over, and we had one fall off. Luckily I found it laying on the trailer. We have also had the stitching on the seat seperate where the back is stitched to the seat bottom. Seats are on backorder until September. As always, thanks for the reviews! Good review. I picked this one out for my wife, and the Lifetime Yukon 116 for myself. About 1 year of ownership and a few trips. Missouri has some slower rivers which have been relaxing. We are headed to Mammoth Spring Arkansas for Labor Day weekend. It seems a bit quicker. This is the first video I’ve seen of yours after searching for a Tamarak pro review. I paid $560 including shipping September 2022. ($729 for the Yukon) As of now my kids are using second hand sundolpin Aruba 8/10. For the 10 & 12 year old it’s enough.

Definitely be careful with the hull. I bought one and went through 6 on display that were all damaged and even bargained a discount on mine because of minor damage. Not a dragging kayak! Hey they used to build them out of much lighter materials. I got mine for $275!! It has been great to paddle and fish out of. The seat is very comfortable which everyone always upgraded first on the 100. Yep, the paddle is crap but if you never paddled you wouldn't know. I'm 6 foot and 220lbs and it seems very stable to me also. I will try standing in it after watching your video (close to shore lol) The anchor trolley is the only upgrade I've done and its necessary if your fishing out of any paddling kayak but cheap and easy to do. I'm enjoying it and would recommend to anyone wanting to try kayak fishing. You simply can't go wrong for the price.

Forgot to mention I have the lifetime Teton Pro angler as my first boat. After using it a few times now I can mention some things I don’t like but it seems as tho this boat fixes those complaints. The cheap plastic clips are a pain on both these kayaks. First time I took mine out it flipped and lost a clip. The seat isn’t the most stable fastening down. The Teton pro doesn’t have cup holders which sucks but other than that I like this kayak for my first one.

Bought the Tamarack Pro at Blains Farm and Fleet, on sale, for $419. Going to fix the paddle holders with some Yak Terminal Ends for the bungee cords, so the water doesn't get in their mounting holes. They are only $1 each, something the manufacturer should upgrade next year. I tried it out on the water, and the seat felt great, and my back didn't hurt afterwards, like my other sit in kayaks. I might put in a 2 inch high board, to raise the seat back up higher. I ordered extra seat clips, and end plugs for the seat, got shorted two of them. Keep the reviews coming!

If your worried about dragging it just coat the bottom with flex seal. Since it's rubber it will handle dragging better. Or I'm sure you can rig a drag plate on the aft keel so you can drag it without worry. With all that extra money saved you can customize it easy 👍

Learning a lot about of valuable entry level info from this channel. Love getting out in the outdoors. Always seem to be picking up after other people. One of the first rules of outdoor sports is leave no trace. Because of Coronavirus I think there are a lot of outdoor newbies that havent learned that yet. Thanks for the review.

This will be my 4th year with my 10' Tamarack and I love it, cant wait for the warmup. This past spring and summer I didnt use my Jon boat at all until mid sept. and when I did I felt very unstable being so high in the air. Funny because I felt very weird when I used the kayak for the 1st time. I didnt get into deeper water for a few hrs LOL. Definitely worth every bit of the $300 I paid for it

I like your videos man... just starting and looking around for kayaks, but you bring more than just the sport - honesty to the consumer (even against your business) and love of nature... the message at the end was really cool....

I second his comment about the paddle. I was using a cheap $20 WalMart paddle in my Lure 13.5 and it was horrible experience. The boat performed well, but could barely control it, the paddle was short, heavy, and I tired out faster because of it. Upgraded to an Aqua Bound Manta Ray and the difference is seriously night and day. So much better power, control, and endurance with that paddle, so glad Dan's video convinced me to upgrade, honestly should have got a cheaper boat and had the paddle from the start, would have been much happier.

I enjoyed the review but I enjoyed more your closing remarks about respecting the beautiful places we go. I run a lot on trails and every time I pick up another runner's discarded gel or bottle it makes me angry and sad. Well said, Dan.

Having the original tamarack/tahoma, and seeing a pro in person, the pro is definately an upgrade. 3" longer, hull is definately stronger. Only slightly heavier, but whew it definitely feels heavier! I definately can't easily stand in my tamarack/tahomas. But 6'4" 260lbs, it is stable! And do fine on anything class 2 and under rapids.

Thanks for the honest and informative review. I am currently using an older Accend A10 sit in kayak that purchased used. It is adequate for my needs as a beginner, but someday I will upgrade to a sit on top ... and this one looks like it will give me everything I want at a price that won't break the bank.

Older video but I just wanted to say I got this yak for Christmas. My first paddle craft. Took it on its madden voyage yesterday and all I can say is I like it quite a bit. Seemed very stable even in some chop and wakes. The paddle it comes with works, I'll probably pick up something better eventually though. And the videos on how to paddle really seemed to help. My legs and lower back are sore this morning. But once I got on the water I didn't really want to get off.

I straight up just got this boat yesterday and got it out on the water 3 hours ago! Mine came in bubble wrap and plastic. I'm also 6' 2"about 210lbs. Me and my wife we're on it. About 360lbs Total. Paddled it fine. I could also stand up in it.

Want to day thank you because due to your $500 kayak video i went out and bought that kayak pro. I have taken it out to the lake every weekend. I have taken it to some heavy wind areas like Wyoming and Northern Colorado. And even with the wind its stable. My entire family has used it and my dad is 6 feet 320 and he has been able to use it also. But does go slower. The plastic clip did fall off. But once again thank you because of your videos I was motivated and got me the kayak and started on a new sport I have come to love.

FYI I also go the bending branch whisper paddle from the $500 video and have used both and I admit its a whole lot better with the new paddle then the lifetime paddle it brings

Great vid, thanks for the review. This is the second or third vid of yours I've watched and I really appreciate your straight up style and especially the little tips and foundational information you give. There's a lot of new paddlers out there and people still in the research phase like myself that are just soaking up all the information, thanks. That little PSA at the end earned you my sub, hats off to ya.

I noticed in another review of this kayak from you, you mentioned the under seat storage clearance. Undo the seat latches and lean back a bit. I got mine on clearance at box store for 200.1$ I'm 6'5" 205 lbs... I love this kayak for alaska lake fishing. Thanks for the review and getting people into paddling

I have always been a perception kayak guy. All 4 of my kayaks are perception and 2 years ago I got my wife a perception outlaw sit on top kayak. She loves it for it's stability and ease of getting in. I use it more then she does and my son kept saying I want a kayak like mas. And I was like that one is way to much kayak for a smaller 11 year old. So my local store had the lifetime tamarack angler pro on sale so that's what he's getting for Easter this year mine for some reason didn't have a paddle but just like u said. Get a good paddle and that will make it that much more enjoyable. The paddle for my perception outlaw is like a 130-150$ paddle. It's adjustable in length so different size people can use it. Really liked the paddle turning tip. Happy paddling

I looked at the Lifetime a few years ago for my kids but ended up with a Future Beach. It was $169 on sale at Dunham Sports. Its still rotomolded. If you want an Utlra cheap kayak look at it 43 lbs and 300 lbs capacity. My kids love it. For me, I love my Wilderness Radar 115.
