HEALING in New World - First Dungeon / Expedition Run (Healer Build / Class)

Today I completed the first New World Dungeon/Expedition, Amrine Excavation! During this dungeon run I am using the Life Staff with a Ice Gauntlet secondary, putting the majority of my points into focus. As a result, this makes me the "healer" for my group, as I will be the most capable member to pump out those big heals!

I couldn't get into ff14 tbh it's lore has never interested me even other ff games never actually finished one get bored halfway through wow then ESO have been the mmo's I played a lot of got bored of wow years ago though

@@hihiminecraft the only thing I don't like about ESO is the class abilities gameplay wise it's one of the best mmo's I've ever played imo 🙂 you're pretty restricted as to what you can play as if you want a competitive healer build and there is so much damage in ESO healer is almost pointless in dungeons (in a strong group)

I use the 2h hammer for the stuns, enimies can't do damage if they are stunned. Then I can dps more.

Its funny, myself and 2 of my mates, 28, 24 & 23, none of us spec'd healer or tank beat this dungeon with about 5 wipes beforehand. I wouldn't call it the ideal, hehe. But we did it.

Once you spec into healing pretty hard it becomes easier. But yeah you get aggro’d super hard in both pve and pvp

Where was the location of this dungeon/ how did you activate it in order to be able to do it?

It’s in the main quest line, you’ll have to do it eventually to continue with the story. Think it’s 25 recommended level on the quest journal if you wanna use that to see how far you are from it.

i hope healing gets more interesting at higher lvls, I guess im 2 used to wow healing. Having to heal players with a slow projectile seems odd.

It's terrible and does not look fun. Two set and forget bubbles reliant on people to stand in them... Flashbacks to druid eflo and shaman rain...

There are a LOT more choices - the single-target projectile heal is pretty much the worst option. There's a single-target heal which can become multi-target, a group heal, and a single-target heal with a different line of progression. There are also different buffs, also on projectiles which can do damage to targets, and you can gain mana from blocking.

How do the loot rules work in dungeons? does each player have their own instanced loot or can it be rolled off? Also the the trash mobs drop loot, or any type of rare loot drop?

personal loot, and trash does drop loot occasionally. resources like ores are open though so only 1 person can mine it.

I love playing healers, but gameplay looks rather basic with only 3 skills available to use. Am I missing something here? Also, are healers needed in non-dungeon content as well? I've been playing FFXIV and curious about the New World game and whether there's a feeling of needing specific classes (i.e. healer/dps/tank) to tackle content.

It starts off pretty basic, but as you get more weapon mastery points you're able to pick up passives that dramatically lower your cooldowns, so you can fire off your abilities much more often. Healers are very important for all group content, including 20vs20 and 50vs50 PVP!

We just finished this with a 3 man party. Lv25 tank, lv 22 ranged dps that changed to healer on demand and a lv 21 dps... I was the tank and dodging was a huge part of not wiping more than two times. It was very challenging and fun. Drops could be better tho.

The healing in this game is bad. They need to get rid of the "attack through an ally" mechanic because that's just not workable. And if group heals are going to basically be ground targeted, then enlarge the area of effect.

limited abilities from what i can see it is 3 buttons and you can weapon swap for 3 different ones...seems quite simplistic and repetitive. unless higher level unlocks more abilities to have on bar but havent read or seen more than 3 so far...pretty crap imo.

@@Pascal0224 one flavor healer, one flavor tank, limited abilities on bar limited and limited active skills in general 4 total instances and end game will end up being very big guild centric instance pvp. plus world pvp will be dominated by whatever faction has the highest population. so not much to do endgame unless you enjoy getting zerged, zerging people that dont have numbers to fight back or being in the biggest guild so you might have a chance to do everything. That about sums up the issues i see so far after only checking into the game for 2 days.

You sure about that? I’m a pure focus healer and my heals are strong af. I’m able to tank purely because of my heals. Also aiming your heals is not hard and most of them are AoE anyway.

they are lev 20 in an instance meant to be done by higher lev folks...of course the heals will seem weak.
