A long time ago God spoke to me. I was pregnant at the time with twins. He said, "One will have many days, the other but a few." One born healthy, the other limp and blue just a week later. The one who was healthy became sick later and within 24 hours died. The other is healthy now. A hole in her heart healed. The day my son died I was praying hard, I was surrounded with pastors who were praying with me. God reminded me all the days ordained for us are written in the book of life before even one came to be. What a long journey this has been, how do you reconcile God wants everyone healed, and He calls us home sometimes at such a young age? This has become such a stumbling block for me to praying in power. I feel like that father, I believe but help my unbelief.
@ArtThomas8 жыл бұрын
Hi Jen, I'm so sorry for your loss. I can completely understand the confusion you're facing, and I'm not sure if I have the correct answer for you. Part of Christianity involves living with an element of mystery yet trusting God anyway. With that said, if I'm going to be logically consistent with everything I currently know of Scripture and the nature of God, then I would have to consider the possibility that what you believe you heard from God may have possibly been the voice of the enemy. I don't know that for certain, and only you can be the judge of that, but the only times I can think of in Scripture where God cut short a baby's life appear to be as punishment for the sins of the parents (consider David after his adultery with Bathsheba). So if the children were conceived in sin, then I can understand. If not, then I struggle to see that it was God who caused the tragedy. What we do know is that Jesus came to give life, and that's the truth on which we must build our theology.

I see and hear see so much about healing. I hear great testimonies. I have called on the Lord to save me and thought I believed. I pray, study scripture and desire to get close to God. I have stopped doing sinful things that were in my life before I came to the Lord. Yet, nothing happens for me and my disabled son. I feel empty, like my efforts are futile. I feel desperate and ready to give up. I have asked how do I find out what is wrong with me? It has seemed that nothing works and I am empty. BUT, your video gives new insight and I can't wait to see what happens now that I can see that I'm relying too much on my own effort. It has to happen in a way that God gets the glory and not me.

I had surgery and the doctor left scar tissue that looks bad to me. It doesn’t affect my health and life but it caused me so much emotional pain and depression because I truly regretted doing it and felt like I had brought it on myself. I’ve been praying for God to please heal my Abdomen and make it smooth again but I keep having doubts about healing because mine is mostly emotional and cosmetic. I’m not dying. But I cry everyday about it. I struggle hanging on to my faith because it seems like it may be an eye roll from God. Truly if I just knew if or not I qualify for healing, I’d feel so much better. I was reading Hebrews 11:11 and it talked about how Sarah bore a son in her old age because she has faith. But then I’m thinking that if two prophets or angels cane to be and told me “your scar tissue will be taken away and your abdomen will be restored to pre-surgery look” HOW would I not believe that? From the actual mouth of God? Timing wouldn’t matter anymore if I received that word. Specifically. I’ve heard the more you focus on what you want healed the less likely it will happen. But I struggle so much with being so unhappy and miserable over it that it’s hard to think of anything else. I truly just want my healing so I can finally move on to enjoying a relationship with God. I’m so sad cause I know I have the wrong mindset yet it’s the most natural to me.

Is it a keloid scar you have? When I was in my twenties I had a spot on my upper chest in the centre which I squeezed- it wasn’t going and I had the misfortune to visit a dermatologist. She burned it with liquid nitrogen and made it worse and told me it wouldn’t scar so I told her to do another small spot beneath it - I had 2 ugly shiny red scars tgst went keloid. I was so upset - sometimes it would be itchy and I couldn’t wear low cut tops. I worked in a beauty salon and my uniform exposed it a bit so I wd tell the client before she noticed. In fact I never shut up about it . I do go to a healer who prayed over me. I had a steroid injection but found it went flat in the centre but raised either side. I had another method done which involved having the steroid injection followed with putting a silicone jelly over it to compress. The doctor gave me a sheet of silicone which I would cut into squares and would wash and reuse to put compression on the scar . Praise The Lord I can barely see the scar today and it is flat. But I know how it bothers you. When I stopped talking about it and claiming ownership over it - it just went away - Praise The Lord ❤️🙏. I have pictures somewhere of how bad it was - have faith yours will be healed In Jesus Name Amen 🙏🙏🙏

Asking in faith is a method to receive healing. Matthew 21:22; Mark 11:24; John 15:7;16:23;
@ArtThomas10 жыл бұрын
Hi kyaaron39...not sure what point you're arguing. None of those scriptures are given in the context of healing. (Actually, the first two are in the context of cursing the fig tree...I don't think that's the point you're trying to make though.) Jesus promised, "Ask and you shall receive." And in Matthew 10:8, after commanding His disciples to "heal the sick," He said, "Freely you have received, now freely give." In other words, we pray to ask the Lord "for bread for a friend" (see Luke 11:5-10), and once we have that "bread," we give it freely. (you don't have to ask for something you already have.) So I ask the Lord for healing virtue, and then I freely give what I've freely received. I don't as Him to heal the person because He has commissioned me to do it. I do, however, ask Him for the empowerment to do what He has asked me to do...and then I do it. There's a difference. If a king tells a servant to paint his castle, the servant may ask the king for some paint, but it would be absurd for the servant to ask the king to paint the castle instead. We don't ask God to do what He has commissioned us to do; we ask Him to give us what we need to do what He has commissioned us to do. So in a sense, we do ask for healing; but the best time to ask for healing is before we minister healing. Much like Paul in Acts 28:8, where it says, "...after prayer, [he] placed his hands on him and healed him." Paul healed Publius' father "after" asking, and he did it by laying hands on him. All that said, if you're seeing people healed by asking for it, by all means keep doing it! I just want you to understand where I'm coming from. Be blessed!
@Aaron-yh6bf10 жыл бұрын
Hey Art, no arguments here. Just pointing out there are many methods God uses to heal people. Speaking words in the name of Jesus , is my favorite too, but it is not the only way. Matt 21:22 And All things whatsoever ye shall ask, includes healing. John 16:23 Jesus says you will no longer ask him for anything, but Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, includes healing. Healing by authority is just a way but not the only way. Asking God to heal someone as though He has not done it yet, is unbelief. But asking Him in faith to release what Jesus already paid for is scriptural, not begging. See the difference? God bless.

Faith healings may seem to to work on people with minor aches and pains, but will _never_ work on people with serious illnesses like cancer, heart disease and missing limbs (without medical treatment).
@ArtThomas6 жыл бұрын
John Q Public - You can certainly make that claim, but it ignores mountains of evidence to the contrary. I could share many anecdotes (including my own healing of Crohn’s Disease, degenerative disc disease, scars on my face, a heart murmur, and more), but I’ll instead refer you to something more scholarly. If you really want to do your homework, check out the two-volume work titled “Miracles” by Craig Keener. Hundreds of documented miracles are shared, along with a critical, scholarly analysis of each. I know enough people who have been miraculously healed of cancer, diabetes, blindness, deafness, and so many other things to not be swayed from what I know to be true. The problem isn’t that you’re “wrong” (it wouldn’t do us any good to just keep telling the other that they’re wrong)-the problem is simply that you haven’t been exposed to the right evidence. The prosecution always appears to have an airtight case until the defense offers its own evidence. So far, my guess is that you’ve only been exposed to the prosecution, and I can’t fault you for that. But in order to make a right judgment, you’re going to have to investigate the evidence on the other side. I think you’ll be surprised how much is actually out there.

If your faith is based on comments, then your faith is misplaced 😉 Somehow, I’ve managed to read all these comments without having my faith crushed. There are actually quite a few comments from people who were healed while watching this video, so I wouldn’t want to disable comments and miss out on all those. I would never delete the comments of those who aren’t healed. Those folks need prayer. I believe in having the integrity to show both the good and the bad. We need to see both. Hopefully it builds someone’s compassion because this is the reality of healing ministry, and we all need to learn to process both the healings and the times when it doesn’t happen.

@@joelg6172 if you watch my videos here on KZbin, you’ll see that I teach about this very issue. Even in this video I address the lie that the sick person must have enough faith to be healed. Jesus raised the dead. Dead people don’t need to have faith. The disciples tried to minister healing to a boy in Matthew 17, but they couldn’t do it. Then Jesus came, and it worked. The problem wasn’t with the boy but with the ministers (even though these same ministers had worked many other miracles previously). When people aren’t healed, it proves what we can do. When people are healed, it proves what God can do.

Jesus taught and preached most of the time before he ministered healing. Matt 4:23 " Teaching, Preaching, and Healing" Why? To raise the faith of the people to receive the will of the Father. So HAVING faith is important to the recipient too as well as the one ministering. You are combining your faith with the one receiving. You are basically standing in agreement with the person whom you are ministering, to receive from God what the recipient set their faith in action to receive. Unbelief atmosphere can be hindering to healing. Mark 6:5. God bless.
@ArtThomas10 жыл бұрын
Since you're making the same point as in your comment on my other video, I'll copy/paste my answer here for the sake of others who might be reading this: I'm incredibly grateful for the breakthroughs that came through the Word of Faith movement, but I have since learned that some of the standard dogmas can become roadblocks to healing rather than helps. In Mark 6:5-6, the problem was not that the unbelief of people was more powerful than Jesus' faith. Darkness is not greater than light. Rather, the problem was that the people didn't expect to be able to receive anything from Jesus, so they likely didn't come to Him for healing. In fact, Luke's account of Jesus in His hometown shows the people being so offended at His teaching that they drove Him up a hill in order to throw Him off a cliff! That doesn't leave a lot of time for healing ministry :-) It's far more likely that Jesus couldn't do many miracles there because people refused to come to Him with their problems; and it's far less likely that Jesus tried to heal a blind man, failed, and then looked at everyone else and said, "Come on, people, you need to have more faith!" When Jesus ministered healing to the epileptic boy, the disciples didn't have faith (Matthew 17:19-20), nor did the boy's father (Mark 9:24), nor did anyone else in the entire generation of people around Him (Matthew 17:17, Mark 9:19, and Luke 9:41). Jesus verbally acknowledged that He was in an "atmosphere of unbelief." And He didn't preach any sermon at all yet was still able to heal the boy. Many times Jesus healed people without first preaching, so I don't think it's biblically sound to suggest that He had to "preach people into faith" in order for His power to work. As a side note, Jesus also raised the dead... That certainly didn't depend on the dead man's faith... He was dead! I have plenty of personal, first-hand experience with seeing people healed who had no faith for themselves--perhaps close to fifty cases. I would encourage you to look beyond the dogmas of one particular movement and see what God is doing throughout the broader Body of Christ. Great results are being seen through ministries that do not function according to Word of Faith principles at all. One person partnering with Jesus is more powerful than all the unbelief in the world. Be blessed!

Jesus taught or preached most of the time before he ministered healing.Read the gospels, People Heard and were healed. Not all the time but most of the time. If we want Jesus results we must do what Jesus did. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. God confirms His word who teach it and preach it with signs and wonders. This is why Jesus taught and preached before he ministered.

Hmm... Did you just accuse me of not reading the Gospels? That's a little harsh :-) Actually, as I read the Gospels, I see Jesus acknowledging the other person's faith less than half the time. Other times it's someone else's faith (like the Syrophonecian woman's daughter or the centurion's servant) or it's all Jesus' faith (like when He healed the epileptic boy while surrounded by unbelieving people). Yes, faith comes by hearing, and it's great when the other person has faith! But I have been in many situations where the other person had no faith, neither was a particular word preached, and the person was healed anyway. If the person hears and has faith, then healing is far more likely. If they don't hear, at least I have heard, and it then becomes my responsibility to have that faith. If it's true that the Lord confirms His word by the signs that accompany it (and it is!), then Jesus has confirmed what I'm telling you. If I were teaching this without results, then you'd have reason to correct me. But if I'm seeing consistent results (and I am), then I don't see why you're arguing this point so intently. I refuse to have more faith in another person's faith than I have faith in Jesus. Jesus never once turned a person away saying that they had no faith. It's simply not in the Bible. If you're interested in discussing the biblical case I've already laid out, I'll gladly continue this conversation. But if you're just going to spout more second-hand teachings (ignoring the biblical and logical answers I've provided) in an effort to convince me that I'm wrong (despite my first-hand experience that convinces me this is correct), then I'm not interested in continuing this conversation. Each time I reply to you, you respond with more Word of Faith teachings (not that those are all bad on their own), but you have yet to sensibly respond to any of the Biblical counterpoints I've provided. Feel free to dialogue (two-way conversation that addresses what a person has said), but I'm done replying to one-sided preaching that only serves to heap condemnation on those who haven't been healed and allows us an emotional escape from our own responsibility as ministers. There is only one biblical example of a person not being set free when someone prayed (the epileptic boy), and the reason Jesus gave was that the disciples (the ministers) lacked faith. If we're going to grow into 100% results, then we need to own the responsibility to grow in our faith and minister like Jesus. He healed every person who came to Him, called out to Him, or had someone come on their behalf. There were no exceptions. Jesus' faith was perfect. Ours is not. And it frankly concerns me when a healing minister is more comfortable blaming the victim of a disease when healing doesn't happen than they are comfortable taking the responsibility themselves.

Word of Faith? Who said that? I never blame anyone for not getting healed, but I know that the person receiving must have a degree of faith for it to be effective. I know the biblical pattern of how I see Jesus ministering most of the time. No one is accusing you of anything. Not correcting you, just adding to what you teach. If you read through the gospels, you will see the primary way Jesus ministered, Teaching, Preaching and then Healing, in that order. Multiple times you read the people came to Hear and be healed. If they didn't hear; they were not healed Mark 6:5. Apostle Paul preached the gospel in Acts 14:7 and in verse 9 " The same Heard Paul speak and Paul perceiving that HE had Faith to be healed. This is the pattern. Yes, you can get some healed by your own faith or by a gift of healing, your results wont be as high, and most won't be able to maintain their healing ministering that way, that is the exception, not the rule. Faith comes by preaching and teaching the Word, and God confirms the word with signs and wonders. That is the pattern established in scripture. It is the primary way Jesus ministered, the way Paul ministered, and it will be the primary way, I minister, for maximum results. God bless.

why are you not going to hospitals.
@ArtThomas8 жыл бұрын
saved by grace through faith - What makes you think I don't? :-) When I'm invited to hospitals, I go and often pray for anyone else in the room. But with laws and hospital policies the way they are, you can't simply walk into just any room and start laying hands on people.
@jesussavedrjm68188 жыл бұрын
Art Thomas my friend,if you are able to be a vessel of healing, the first person in a hospital miraculously healed would ignite a firestorm.,especially in the childrens ward.

saved by grace through faith - you'd be surprised. Try doing what I do, and you'll find out people aren't as open to such ministry as you'd expect. You can't imagine how many people refuse even non-threatening, heartfelt offers for prayer.
@jesussavedrjm68188 жыл бұрын
Art Thomas still though, how many people in a hospital? you cant find 1 person that you can do this with? seriously if you can walk up to a deaf person and say open, then just do it. who cares the consequences. im sure if they are healed they wouldnt complain
@ArtThomas8 жыл бұрын
saved by grace through faith - you seem to think that I have 100% results and that every single person I minister to is healed. While that was true of Jesus, I'm still learning to be like Him and openly admit that I see only a fraction of His results. I've witnessed a whole lot of miracles, but I've also had people die on me--people I loved and cared about. Sometimes people are healed instantly and sometimes I have to persevere. Sometimes I have faith and sometimes, sadly, I recognize that I don't. It seems you have some unrealistic expectations about healing ministry--or at least unrealistic expectations about me.
@jamescrook83769 жыл бұрын
you forget one important thing. You being there doing the training of that church, and them healing each other was UP TO JESUS not YOU. So if you think you can just walk up to someone who is deaf and stick your fingers in his ears and say OPEN... and they open, youre wrong... Jesus walks up the the deaf and does it. YOU are the saw, and HE saws the wood with YOU.

Every day there are bible-believing, fundamentalist, Jesus-loving Christians who pray for relief from maladies. There must be millions of these people, millions of people that you would think would be freed - by the power of prayer - from whatever pains and handicaps them. There are so many begged-for miracles every day that, surely, the news organizations of the world would be flooded with stories of these joyous Christians. Q1: Are you aware that this simply does not happen? Q2: Can you guess why it doesn't happen? If you cannot answer these questions, you have sacrificed your reason and judgment on the altar of foolish religious beliefs. Let me help you. It doesn't happen to the praying Christians or to Art's stage guests because no supreme being cures sick people. The supreme being DOES NOT: Prevent countless innocent children from starving or dying from infections or parasites . . . Prevent millions of Jews and Poles and Slavs and others from being systematically killed by the Nazis . . . Prevent thousands of people from being killed or raped or tortured by warlords or terrorists . . . Prevent 52 people from being murdered by a man shooting from a casino window into a crowd of music-lovers . . . Prevent cataclysmic damage from natural events and the pain and suffering these cause humanity . . .

Steve Shalk - Hi Steve. I appreciate your passion for realism, and I agree with you that there is much evil in the world. If I had to guess, my assumption is that you’ve probably experienced your own fair share of heartache and tragedy that has led you to the conclusions you hold. I feel for you, and I get it. That said, no one can convince me that I was not healed of degenerative disc disease, Crohn’s disease, scars on my face, a heart murmur, or any of the other “smaller” maladies I’ve been healed of through the years. Similarly, no one can tell me that I was deceived the many times I’ve seen blind eyes open, deaf ears open, cripples walking, tumors disappearing, etc. I’ve heard it said that a man with an experience is never at the mercy of a man with an opinion. Now, we do need to reconcile my experience with the tragic realities in this world that you cited. Yes, people do die while seeking healing. And great evil does exist in the world. My best understanding of Scripture is that the reason evil exists is because the Church has not yet done enough (in partnership with God) to correct it. Yes, there are starving children in the world. But there are also millions of children who are not starving because the Church has gone to them with food and love. Yes, there are sick people in the world, but thousands of miracles are happening every day as Christians learn that we don’t have to beg God to do what He sent us to do in Jesus’ name. Likewise, countless people were spared in Nazi Germany by genuine Christians who hid them at the risk of their own lives. The more the Church obeys the teachings of Jesus, the less suffering there is in the world. Yes, God could technically stop every evil thing that happens in the world, but He has made a covenant with His people to operate in union with us. And that requires Christians to walk in real faith-simple trust in His goodness, love, and power. I don’t pretend to know all the answers, but I can’t deny all that I have seen and heard. The fact that you are unaware of the millions of testimonies from around the world of miraculous healings does not negate their existence. I would encourage you to investigate further. I’d recommend a 2-volume book set by Craig Keener titled “Miracles,” which is a scholarly work examining countless medically documented miracles. Thanks for taking time to dialogue on the issue. Be blessed.

@ArtThomas7 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry that has been your experience. It didn't work for me for many years either. I understand your frustration, and I think pretty much everyone involved in healing ministry today can relate. As I travel the world training believers to minister healing, though, I have witnessed literally thousands of miracles through ordinary believers, proving that the message is true. I would encourage you to persevere and choose to form your theology out of the life and ministry of Jesus rather than forming it out of disappointments and your own limited experience with healing ministry. Jesus deserves to receive everything for which He paid, and we can work toward that end. I bless you in Jesus' name and pray you start seeing results soon. I'd encourage you to watch the rest of the videos on this KZbin channel as well. There may be something there that helps provide the breakthrough for you. Be blessed!

I believe your experience, I am scientist and that may have something to do with it. We are trained to be rational and rely on data and evidence.
@ArtThomas7 жыл бұрын
When one of the factors in your equation is a God who can do the impossible, healing becomes incredibly rational. Hebrews 11 says that "Abraham reasoned that God could raise the dead." God had told Abraham that his son Isaac would have many descendants. So when God told him to sacrifice his son, Abraham reasoned that A faithful God would not go against His promise. The only rational conclusion (when considering God as a factor) was that God would raise Isaac to life from the dead. I have heard some say that we are not healed by blind faith--we are healed by fact. Jesus died. That's a fact. And His blood still has power.

Jim Haller - thankfully, history is full of examples of people finding out that their limited experiences do not limit the truth. Just because you haven’t personally seen something doesn’t mean it isn’t real. I invite you to watch this video all the way to the end. You’ll see plenty of examples of healing ministry in action. Jesus did pay the price for healing, and His sacrifice still has power to heal, forgive, and transform lives today. Be blessed!
