Talk about shattered when everything you know in regards to relating to the person who made you a mom for the 1st time is gone. They want to be related to differently and in a way that is against my Christian core belief system. I live in chronic sadness. Your words encouraged me. Thank you. While our family loves this child and we fight to love them well and maintain relationship. This is not the way I thought mothering this adult child would look like. It's hard and devastating and is a chronic long ongoing heartbreak, that has changed our family's entire dynamic. Elizabeth, that sounds incredibly difficult-and something NO parent would be prepared to handle. I’m so sorry this happened. Though loved anyway, it sounds like your child has estranged themselves from the family, and I’m so sorry. I can imagine how hard it is relating to your child now. Underneath all the transformation, he/she is still the same person who made you a mother. All the happy memories, the laughs, ABC songs, stories read together and every scrape doctored is all still there. ❤️ The best way we can show Christ to others is with unconditional love, like you’re doing. As hard as this has been for you, I can imagine it’s been many times harder on your child. Choosing transgender is extremely difficult. Though your child knows you don’t approve, and that’s okay, whether admitted or not, your unconditional love for him/her is probably more important than ever-even if they pretend to not care. It’s understandable that you’re feeling lots of emotions about this that are hard to process and hurtful. God says if we ask for a new heart, He’ll give us one! I pray He gives you a new heart that will enable you to heal and to let go. God loves your child so very much. All you can do is love your child unconditionally and pray-the rest is up to God. I’m so sorry for what your family is going through. I’m sure there are online support groups for other parents going through this. I urge you to find them if you haven’t yet. You’re not alone. 🤗 I pray strength, comfort and peace for y’all. 🙏🏻❤️

Elizabeth Campbell, many who are transgender, non-binary, etc have been sexually abused in their past. I know people who never told their parents of the abuse. Whether is was a family member, neighbor, camp counselor, pastor... MANY have been violated. I would encourage you to pray for truth to me uncovered. Nothing ever EVER heals in the dark.

See, THAT'S the part that Really TICKS ME OFF, Most of all, when I Know that they WILLINGLY listened to the enemy and carried out his plans. Especially from "Believers" who KNOW Better, Know that ALL negative thoughts and their accompanying plans for action ALL come from the enemy and make the CHOICE to listen or commit an evil/negative act against me or Anyone else!!!! Dear Penny to forgive doesn't mean that we necessarily will forget, we are humans, we don't forget things that have hurt is easily. What we should aim for is being able to remember those things or people without them hurting our hearts anymore. Forgiving is a usually a long process and God knows it's hard for us, but let's stick to Him and keep on asking Him to give us the grace and the power to forgive those who have hurt us, just as He forgives us every day our trespasses. ❤

At 12:08 it reminds me of a day I was at Mass and in the homily it was about moving forward from hurt and it sent me in a tailspin. I reached out to someone later that evening and he said don't give someone else the keys to your car. Easier said then done. I haven't been able to do that well at all. The collection of hurt that just keeps repeating itself. At this point I do not think I am ready to forgive, definitely not ready to forget. In fact I feel like I need to keep reminding myself of all the past times things have been done behind my back and that it WILL happen again, to better prepare myself for when it does happen so that hopefully the anger and hurt won't be so bad. Sounds crazy but that is how I feel. I know that like you said revenge will just make me the bad guy and not make me feel better. I do believe that revenge would cost me more and I did need to hear that. Listening to this has made me decide revenge is not the answer and I thank you for that. I hear the versus and I understand the meaning. But I guess I am not a good enough person to act on those versus. I am not ready to let this go I just feel like I need to protect myself by not forgetting so I will be better prepared when it happens the next time.

I am a 5 month, New subscriber. I found this channel while searching for help dealing with the pain of a recent Divorce. I was married for 35 yrs when my now ex-husband filed for divorce. He made me believe his decision was motivated because he was emotionally drained; due to me taking care of my Alzheimer's Mother. He Claimed he loved me & that there was nobody else. When it was all said & done he had been having multiple affairs & as our divorce papers where being finalized , he moved in with a woman he met on line. Our divorce was final at the end of February, 4 months ago. It has been a night mare! I have been on a Rollercoaster of emotions, pain, anger, bitterness......etc. I know GOD is by my side, but there are times, when I cannot hear him or feel him around me. Is this normal? I will be 58 years old this June. I have had much trauma. God avenging me has always come late. I want so desperately to believe these words but I do not see it in my life such thus far. People who have harmed me have been allowed to live out their days and then just simply die. I have not seen. I have not seen vindication if we believe in hell then I'm supposed to be satisfied that their spending an eternity there I am struggling with this concept. I need an apology, I need recognition that they were wrong. I'm in a situation now where I am watching someone who has harmed me tremendously now do the same to my child and because she has no physical wounds only emotional ones our legal system turns a blind eye to it. And God allows it to continue I don't understand

What I see is that there is no amount of payback, no amount of sorry's could heal but Jesus! When God told us revenge is His alone, He meant it. It was not something He gave mankind, although it may feel good in small moments to see the other suffer. He has given my heart freedom from wanting revenge but still a work in progress with healing.

Lysa, it is important to have distinction, means to realize when it possible to reconcile or when it is absolutely necessary to stay away or even llitraly run away from abusers. Please do not guide people wrong by saying, reconsiliation is part of forgiving. That is wrong and you should make this clear. Please do not guide people into victimhood.

How to draw the line between showing compassion to the person who hurt you and finding excuses for their behaviour? For example, my husband went through abusive childhood, how can I avoid making this as an excuse for his abusive behaviour while at the same time showing compassion, forgiving him & moving on?
