Love this video. I don’t know anyone who is not stressed right now.. financially, parenting, the world.. and then like me- you go to the dr for something else and they dx you with something you don’t have and boom- leads you down the path of chronic pain which just dysregulates the system more and more due to the severe pain. Very hard to get out of.

Thanks so much, Jim 😊 amazing and very timely (for me), I just had a somatic therapy session and this just reinforced what I've been learning about how my nervous system works and has been working for almost 40 years. Amazing!

Thank you this is very helpful. I had made a lot of progression thanks to your videos. But now I read that to do a good exposure you need to get the anxiety up so you can disconfirm your anxious expectation (for example exposure with panic disorder would be exposure and then see oh I actually don't loose control). But the idea that I should be anxious while exposing myself to acitivities (with long covid) makes me feel stuck again. Because now I feel like I have to be overwhelmed with anxiety while going for a walk and this seems to worsen it all up. Can you explain why exposure with TMS of long covid seems to be different than exposure with panic disorder? I feel like the brain retraining works best when being in parasympathetic, but now I don't allow myself this anymore. Thank you, looking forward to your answer.

Yes, your anxiety and symptoms can spike when you expose yourself and that can be at varying intensities. Your job is to regulate your system as much as you can and that will help you to cope with it, but you are correct in that you do want to work through whatever anxiety is there to teach and show your brain that it’s OK

I think you need to address being stuck in parasympathetic. I am currently seeing one of the psychologist who did a lot of the studies evaling HRV, etc. yes when you are stuck in parasympathetic you breath slower than normal all of the time. It’s a cholinergic state, shutdown excessive bags tone. Please update your info.

Yes you can be a shutdown as well freeze state so that’s a possibly. But the evidence shows more people are in high sympathetic state vs the deep freeze parasympathetic. But you are right some people are in freeze instead of fight/flight

What happens to the brain inflammation especially now i no i have Asperger's at 44 which is linked to inflammation of brain and spd long before chronic pain will stress reduction.do.this.alone
