This is a fantastic success story with Terry. She proves in her own recovery that you can go from bedbound back to life. Terry once she understood and realized what this was ( a 'paper tiger' as she calls it) quickly turned things around after being stuck for a long while. With her own fortitude and my encouragement to forge ahead she has become another success story. One that will hopefully inspire you to become the next one!
If you need help on your journey reach out. I would love to help you get back to life! Head to my website to learn more about individual and group coaching. www.thepainpt....

Pain shrinks lives, isolates, exhausts us and that causes depression. I wish doctors and pain management UNDERSTOOD this and nipped it in the bud.

You’ve got a chance to do it now. In fact you gotta do it and you can. Seek psychological support if you need it. But get going. You have to get the energy going to move forward. Depression can be anger inward so unleash that anger like Teresa mentioned and channel that into confronting and challenging what you’re dealing with. Doing this with conviction but also compassion

I also went down the sibo route. Today I am convinced that this diagnosis does not really tell anything. There is research showing that some people have the bacteria dysbalance without having any symptoms...

Great success story, thanks for sharing :) When have you discontinued taking anxiety meds? I'm currently on some for GAD, my symptoms are not THAT debilitating and I'm wondering if I should taper off a bit.

I needed Jim's approach to TMS, that's what helped me the most. I needed something to sink my teeth into. We all respond differently and we have to choose a coach that speaks to us the most. Dan's group helped me do some of the foundational work and the members were especially healing to me. Jim's approach was the sort of direct approach that embodied a kind of "get going!' message that I really needed rather than hesitating like I was.

That's why I shared my story, in hopes I can reach even one person. We don't have to share sensations in order to whip back from this in an upward spiral but I understand it can be comforting knowing others have similar sensations. If i can do it, so can you!

Flooding didn't help me! It was terrifying, my whole body was shaking, my legs wouldn't hold me up, and I don't want to experience that again. It was really really horrible.
@thepainpt
@thepainpt 9 күн бұрын
That’s what happens when you flood, but you need to understand that none of that was dangerous although it can be very scary. you can recover quickly but you have to keep going back to that again and again. It’s absolutely proven to work. It’s just hard for some people to do because it can be intense. If you boom you can’t bust

Kate, I felt the same way when I flooded. I didn't want to repeat the ever again. But I did and the sensations got less and less.

What was your approach to sensations, emotions & outcome independence?
@TeresaWalters-zq3mt
@TeresaWalters-zq3mt 7 күн бұрын
@@annsullivan8079 It was a state of mind. I had made the decision to get my life back. I made a choice, because that was the only way out, to make a CHOICE! That has to come first without hesitation and knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt that this was TMS. I just wanted to live again. When sensations came I used a lot of self talk and journaling. I would also binge on Jims videos in time of doubt or to reinforce my beliefs.

Hi Lenneke.. strength training will really help, in addition to strengthening your muscles etc, it will let the brain know you are ok. Movement is lotion. ❤

Yes you can recover from that since the brain and ANS (autonomic nervous system) are the culprit.

Great story can I ask you did the insomnia resolve itself ?? I’ve been struggling with chronic dizziness ( which has nearly gone now after 15mths) but insomnia started a year ago and I keep having completely sleepless nights after periods of weeks sleeping well. This is proving to be the hardest part for me staying awake all night and trying to accept it is so tough physically emotionally and mentally 😢 it’s relentless atm
@TeresaWalters-zq3mt
@TeresaWalters-zq3mt 2 күн бұрын
I still have dizziness as well. Glad yours has passed. I still struggle with sleep but not as much as I used to. I really use the dare response and just run towards it telling my brain it's ok if I don't sleep, but I'm going to rest here. Usually that helps, by letting go of my attachments of wanting to sleep. Give it a try!
