There is something that I forgot to mention earlier. I was a trucker for 25 years. This past March I was hospitalized for food poisoning. When I called for an ambulance I was taken to a local hospital in Tennessee. I was there for three weeks. I was concerned that without my chaga tincher with me which I'd left in the truck that I could possibly have a problem with my hypertension. The entire time that I was there the nurses kept a check on my blood pressure. It stayed good. I'd been using chaga for a year by this time. Because the chaga was in my system for all of this time it proved to me that chaga is a silver bullet!

I was a chemistry grad student and my PI wanted to create active analogs of compounds found in Lions Mane. I asked: why not just use the mushroom in its whole form? The answer was: you can't patent it!

the number of people in the world that think that by just dry, grind and eat Turkey Tail for health benefit is to damn high. They literaly argue with me, when Im trying to tell them about hitine, that "dried and grindet is as good as extract".

This is by far one of the best & most informative videos I've seen to date on the recent heels of this newest Mushroom trend! I quickly grew suspicious of commercially "farmed" & "oat grown" mushrooms (i.e. Om) & if they really still had anywhere near close to the medicinal properties as the ones grown in their respective natural environments! Can you recommend any companies or product lines that hold the most integrity of the original processing practices for optimal health benefits? Again outstanding video, please keep them coming!

There's a great book called "Healing Spices" by Aggarwal in which he references published studies on the effectiveness of spices. Not that published studies are the know all, end all of evidence, but the author does reference them in his book. I'd like to find a similar book on mushrooms.

Excellent presentation, topic and video :-) Although very different, I am wondering if Turkey Tail compares to Chaga...??? Any thoughts? Thanks

@@Nyishar Hi I’m interested in ordering the turkey tail. Is the fruiting body better or the mycelium ?
@Nyishar
@Nyishar 2 жыл бұрын
@@motiheru69 In the video above this question is answered comprehensively - the liquid-fermented mycelia (in particular the strain the possesses PSP) is by far the best option. This is what the overwhelming majority of scientific data has been based upon and is what yields the greatest amount of therapeutic benefits.

Excellent video and information as per usual. Thank you! I know I will be watching this more than once in order to absorb all of the information. Is it true that all mushrooms (including culinary) need to be cooked/decocted in order for them to release their therapeutic constituents?
@Nyishar
@Nyishar 4 жыл бұрын
There are occasional exceptions - some edible species are perhaps more digestible than others, and some people may produce more chitinase in their digestive tract than others. Generally speaking though, most people are chitinase deficient, and so the majority of fungi will need to either be cooked before being eaten, or extracted appropriately before being consumed.

Wonderful educational video! Thanks! I really appreciate the emphasis upon using the "whole mushroom" and not just to make "medicines" while throwing away the contents of the whole organism. Even though the research results on the two compounds are so strong in results, it is so important to keep in mind the holism of the organism itself. that's how humans and fungi co-evolved! Keep well, and ATB!

Yes absolutely, I feel it is very important to frame the new scientific and clinical findings within a larger, natural context, otherwise we risk losing our coordinates and taking all sorts of wrong turns, as has been the case (and continues to be) multiple times throughout the development of modern medicine.
