I looked up the lyrics on Google but I'm not so sure about how official they are. I find it possible somebody just guessed and then all the sites copied them. I've copied the lyrics over from those sources (they're all the same) and put in parentheses what I hear instead along with some additional thoughts occasionally. I'm looking for feedback. I wonder if anybody else hears what I hear, or if they hear something different, or if somebody can confirm the lyrics I found are actually the official lyrics. Their crosses turning, it's topsy-turvy (The cross is turning, it's topsy-turvy) Feels like Machiavelli has awakened and hardened early (If it's "awakened" as stated here, then it's pronounced oddly by the vocalist, like "a-walk-ened". Could be deliberate. When I first heard it I thought it was something with "walk' and then "high and early" instead of "hardened early", but I could never come up with a full phrase to make sense of it with these words) If this is the rapture of Satan, we ain't gon' make it (If this is the rapture, I'm certain we ain't gon' make it) 'Cause I see the pastor, he tells that the Lord forsaken ('Cause I see the pastor, and tell that the Lord forsaken) (With the two above lines I thought the lyrics were trying to get across that he can tell the Lord has forsaken us because "just look at the religious leaders we've been left with" in a broad sense. That kind of thing. In my mind the way I heard it went really hard. If he's relaying what a pastor is saying it's not as interesting imo because that's the most run-of-the-mill thing to come from a lot of religious preachers. Still works well to set the scene and tone of the song in a "relaying personal observations" way though.)
