My mom moved with us to Saint John from Ontario. She has neuroendocrine cancer and has been receiving excellent care here even though she doesn't have a family doctor. My daughter goes to the walk in clinic once a month and has no issues getting to see a doctor. In fact, it's faster to get into a walk in clinic here than it was to get into one in Ontario as they usually had long line ups and were backlogged. Here you get to make an appointment at the clinic.

We had so many people reach out to us thinking they had made a mistake moving here. It makes us so mad that the media cares about nothing other than clicks and selling ads. This was such an incredibly misleading and irresponsible article.

Good on you for speaking about this important matter straight on and with a clear concise approach. Bravo! The doctor situation is Canada wide. I love your perspectives on your videos and people are in good hands with you and Wendy's help. I have been disappointed with CBC and most news broadcasting companies... Les you and Wendy are better news sources. 😊🤗🤗🤗😊👏👏

Re: traffic on the highway - My experience visiting NB last fall was an eye-opener. Big beautiful highway infrastructure and so little traffic! I entered at Edmundston and drove through to the Moncton region. What a pleasure coming from the GTA.

It was an eye opener for us too coming from Metro Vancouver. The wonderful highway system here and traffic, or lack thereof, is one of the many reasons we love Saint John and the whole province of New Brunswick.

Thank you for clarifying the "no Doctor" propaganda . . I suspected it was BS and was never concerned. . . . Now that you guys have told your experiences, it is quite obvious that New Brunswick "is in Canada" and that our "Health Care" is pretty well the same everywhere in our beautiful country! . . . . I know for a fact that there is a waiting list to get a doctor here in Ontario . . .especially for folks that have moved into a new town away from their doctor. . . . CHEERS!

I get it that the guy was bitter his disability benefits were cut off, and if course it couldn't be his own mistake. What I don't get is why the CBC would run with a story that has absolutely nothing to do with anything that applies to people or healthcare in general. I'm starting to really dislike the news media.

Love your video's, I have requested to join your facebook group. We are looking to move to St John in the next couple of years. Yes, we lost 2 family Dr's in Vancouver. We just found another family Dr. that is accepting patient's, he is a half hour drive away, but I do like him and the clinic is very nice. Luckily he took on all three of us, my husband, son and myself.

It can take time to find a family doctor in any new area you move to, so New Brunswick is no different.

Hi guys, thank you for the update. There is a very negative poster (I won't identify the poster) that constantly trolls different "moving to NB" websites and plays "Debbie Downer" a lot.
@WeLoveSaintJohn
@WeLoveSaintJohn 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, there are a few of them. Before we moved here, those were the only posts we could find about this area. It's why we do this channel, as an antidote to these people. When we find ridiculous unsubstantiated claims we block the poster, but I can't go back through every video to find specific ones. Thankfully, most Saint Johners love their city, but there are definitely some with too much time on their hands that want the world handed to them on a platter.

Wow wonderful! Thank you for this clarity! You’ve answered most of our healthcare questions and cleared up most of our concerns thank you so much! My Family and I are thinking of moving to New Brunswick from Ontario and this was one of the hurdles that we had the fear of the unknown when it comes to healthcare we have a three year old and picking up and moving our whole life to an unknown part of the country is very stressful. We’ll sign up for a card and understand that it’s a three months wait before you acquire a health card in New Brunswick. Our question is within that three months wait time if we have no health card can we still get the care needed in case of an emergency? Thank you so much
@WeLoveSaintJohn
@WeLoveSaintJohn 2 жыл бұрын
While you wait for your NB health card you are still covered by your Ontario health plan. There is no interruption in services.

Hello guys! Thank you for this information. Me and my family will move this year to Sanit John from Mexico, for study in NBCC. I was worried about this issue. My son has autism, he is 3 years old, I have a question: Do you know if care for children with autism is complicated?

Also, here in Ontario, it is often so difficult to reach my own family doctor by phone that I just drive in to his office in person just to "book the appt." which is usually several days later. In a Saint John walk-in clinic, can you drive in to the city in the morning (say 9 to 10 am) and "book the appointment" in person for later that same day and then just spend the time in Saint John doing something else and then go to your appt. in the afternoon?
@WeLoveSaintJohn
@WeLoveSaintJohn 2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. You call or text immediately when the clinic opens, and make an appointment for that day. The earlier you call, the more likely you are to get an appointment. It can be a phone or in-person consultation, depending on your needs.

Hello Ma'am, I heard you are taking about Allergies and breathing problems. I too have the similar issues. I am happy to know that we have better health care system in New Brunswick. Can you please help me to know how good or bad the weather or climate of Saint johns is for people like me who is Asthmatic and Allergic to pollens ?
@onlymeandmytwocents
@onlymeandmytwocents 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Rahul, I do not suffer as badly from my allergies in SJ, but I think it's mostly because we live in the West side and get a nice Bay breeze here in the spring and summer. I'm allergic to alder and dust, and find at bloom, it's less severe here for me compared to BC. I think if you're allergic to pollen, there's really no escaping hay fever, but you could choose to live where the air is fresh, like I did. I hope this helps!
