I made this salad for dinner tonight and it was life changing. No exaggeration. I used broccoli rabe but cooking it in the oven with fresh lemon and garlic gave it a whole new taste. A little tip: never put your good knife in the dishwasher...the heat will make the blade blunt...wash in cold water...then it will stay sharp!!!

I couldn’t agree more! I am an Italian American who got stuck in South Carolina when my father got transferred here for work when I was a toddler. I spent summers with my grandparents. I learned a lot from my Nonna. Her side of the family never came to the US. Do you mean financially support this woman as she lounges in a Tuscan house, picks her own vegetables and makes a salad in front of a camera? I'm a working girl, like a million other working girls - in an office from 9 to 6 pm after taking the subway and bus every morning just to get to the office! Why would I support a young woman so that she can pick vegetables, film herself and make salads?!? It's a fantasy life! I live a real life. Dear Kylie- you must put out more recipes. I’m a working mom and busy all the time and want to make nutritious food for my family. I feel like I can say I love to cook and can cook but sometimes you just need inspiration!! Coming from you is great, you make such beautiful things with LOVE. My parents are both Italian and I grew up in America but I will say the one thing that that stands out in the kitchen for me is the simplicity and less is more. Using delicious fresh ingredients and like you said “ don’t just throw everything in!” is so important. I remember “pre” baby my husband whom is Tunsian- cousins by location as they are Mediterraneans as us Italians, was always so impressed that I could whip something up by just using a few ingredients in the kitchen. As long as I have pasta, olive oil, tomatoes and garlic I can knock your socks off with a simple plate of pasta! Anyways, thank you for always sharing such romantic and beautiful ways of looking at life. ❤️

I love to watch your channel I have shared it with so many people. I am going to be 68 this year, and young lady in another life I would love to have lived your life as far as all your adventures. And it’s really helped me through a long winter in Michigan. Now as far as the salad goes I was a vegetarian for most of my life but in my late 50s early 60s I could not digest the fiber any longer and I had to go on the FODMAP(IBS) diet which is an Australian origination from Dietician’s there. I still cannot eat onion or garlic raw if it’s well cooked I can eat a tiny bit of it. I can’t have a salad for my main meal I can have it after a meal🥴😔 but I definitely will make this for my husband and I and I will eat what I am able of it. Hi Kylie! I love the salad. I'm a salad monster. I eat salads every day. Love vegetables. I've been bored with them lately but I think it's because I eat all of the veggies raw. I will start roasting my vegetables as you have done. That sink is just gorgeous and there is nothing better than a sink with a drain in the corner as opposed to in the middle of the surface. It's much more functional especially for people who love to cook! Every time I see you post videos, I literally prepare "what will I do while I watch Kylie's video"?? I discovered your channel just yesterday and I instantly feel a connection! I also have Mediterranean (Greek, Lebanese and Palestinian) roots but I'm Austrian. Here I feel like here no one gets how much I love salads. They think that this is a "diet thing". But seriously especially in summer when it is hot, and vegetables are in season and bursting with flavours I will gladly eat salad for lunch and dinner. There is nothing better than a good crispy salad with a fantastic tangy dressing. Another favourite dinner would be watermelon and feta.

Just got our flight to Italy for September! I am moving back to Sicily with my husband (from Catania) after a few years in the US. We came for work, but the call to go back is just too strong! : ) Your videos have really helped me be less nervous about moving back there, even though I have lived there for 6 years in Florence and 3 in Barcelona already! But still it is scary moving and starting over again and so thank you for these inspiring videos that remind me why I want to go back whenever I am feeling like it is an unreachable dream to return. Because of our circumstances the Italian consulate has granted me the ability to come to Italy despite the travel ban, though we will be quarantining after! Looking forward to trying this dish with Italian ingredients soon! : ))

I would leave the natural ceiling as is , being a contrast to all the pale walls & travertine. If you change your mind later, you can always paint it in. Kylie, my heart went out to you for all the chaos, and you need to take care of yourself right now. In the end, the experience will give you lots of tales to tell. So good your parents are with you. Hi Kylie! I am watching this particular film of yours for the fifth time because I love this recipe but also seeing this hot day from last summer, hearing those animals who's english name I don't know (crotchets?), seeing this beautiful italian sun and you so golden from the sun, imagining this hot quiet day gives me hope that this yet another long winter will finally be over... I live in Poland, for few days now we have sun but still very cold with cold winter and minus degrees at night. Thank you Kylie for your sunny work!
