🔥Genius method! Cleans discolored headlights! ONLY in 5 minutes, greetings to all who are interested in caring for their car! Today I want to share with you my professional experience in cleaning yellow car headlights. The yellow color on headlights is usually caused by oxidation of the plastic they are made from. In order to restore the headlights to their original shine, I use a simple and effective method that allows you to quickly and easily clean the surface of the headlights.
First, we need soap, baking soda, toothpaste and lemon juice. Soap and baking soda are abrasives that help remove the surface layer of oxidized plastic. Toothpaste contains abrasives and fluorides that restore shine to your headlights. Lemon juice contains an acid that dissolves the oxidized layer on the surface of the headlights.
To clean the headlights, I mix equal proportions of soap, baking soda and water, apply to the surface of the headlights and wipe thoroughly. Then I mix toothpaste and water, apply it on the surface of the headlights and leave it for a few minutes. Finally, I soak a cloth in lemon juice and wipe down the headlights. After that, I thoroughly rinse the headlights with water.
For a faster and more effective result, I use a sponge on a drill to rub a mixture of soap, baking soda and water into the surface of the headlights. This method allows you to clean your headlights faster and more thoroughly.

Guys, if you are looking for a solution, buy a magic eraser! Use a little water to gently wipe it off and you will see the difference! I hope it works for you because it worked really well for me. You have to do it every day until they are new. And be careful not to use it too quickly, it wears out faster and you can scratch it, but believe me, it works.

Наждачка 1000-1200 и прозрачный автомобильный лак. Пять минут и от новой не отличить,а как вы сделали ,фара снова потускнеет,без лака никак.Новая фара покрыта лаком,лак от времени и температуры трескается микротрещинами и забивается пылью и копотью,отсюда и помутнение пластика.

The hardcoat on the PC lens gets damaged after 3y to 5y (average). Polycarbonate (thermoplastic substrate) has a low chemical and scratch resistance. The abrasion process removed the remaining hardcoat and the damaged PC as well. It gets a better appearance for now, but unfortunately, the lack of resistance (chemical and abrasion) will keep accelerating the damage to PC due to chemicals on the car washing and UV radiation damage by sunlight exposure. The way to reduce the damaging process is to apply a protective coating (varnish).

Guys don't do this. This will cause scratches and your hard work will be lost in about 2 months of exposure to the elements. Stuff you need: *I use Mirka 125mm pads for my orbital Sander. *Grits K400 K1000 K2000 K3000 K4000 *Water spray bottle *2'k headlight clearcoat or any other relevant 2 component clearcoat with uv protection. *Isopropyl Alchol *Soapy Water *Soft brush Do this instead: I restored both headlights on my Peugeot 107 from 2010 and Fiat Grande Punto from 2011, using this method. 1. I start off by cleaning my headlight with a simple soft Brush and some car soap 2. When clean and theres no visible dirt. I will inspect the headlight for scracthes on the outside or minor damages this way i will determine which grits i will use to fix my headlight. If you have minor scracthes or damages that you can feel with your nail start with grit K400 (BECAREFULL WITH THIS GRITT. NEVER STAY STATIC WITH THIS GRITT OR IT WILL CAUSE FLATTENING). To work my way through the grits i will use a orbital sander. You can do this by hand using circular motions in the beginning, then using vertical motions and ending with horizontal motions by each gritt. I prefer the orbital sander, way more effective and faster but by hand will do. Use plenty of water during the sanding proces for the best result. 3. I start of with gritt 400 and spray the headlight and pad with some water. During the sanding i use vertical and horizontal lines to sand and make sure i never stop with the orbital sander. During this proces i will use plenty of water to keep things moist. If you don't have any visual scracthes or damages and just yellowing or fogging of the headlight, you can just skip K400 and go straight to K1000 4. I will do these exact same steps but i will follow gritt 400 up with K1000, K2000, K3000 and K4000. After gritt 3000 you can prettymuch see that its as clear as day. I just like to amp it up a notch so i end with Gritt K4000 so it looks brand new. But it's optional 5. After the sanding proces, i will Clean the headlight again with some soapy water. I will rinse it off with regular water and wipe it down. 6. After cleaning i will now degrease the headlight using Isopropyl alcohol with some kitchen paper wipes. Then you can let it dry or use a paint remover heatgun or hairdryer to speed it up. 7. Then i will use 2K's Headlight 2 component clearcoat spray to seal in our sanded/polished headlights so it stays beautiful and protected from UV rays (Sun damage). 8. I start of with a very light spray coat. wait 30 minutes inbetween coats. 9. We then repeat step 8 but with a much heavier coating and you will see that it starts to get a lot clearer. Wait 30 minutes again til next coat. 10. We repeat step 9 and check for the results. If the headlight look amazing after 3 coats you can stop. If the headlight still looks somewhat not shiny, then apply a 4th coating. Does it still look foggy? Apply 5th coating. If that didn't work, you clearly did something wrong since the 3th coating should already be sufficient in most cases. 11. After the sanding/polishing, Spraypainting and so on. Let it dry for atleast 12 hours before you start driving. This way the paint will be full hardenen and not be dented by little impacts from flies. You will be left with factory new headlights. Hope i helped

About every 2 years I stop by the local car cleaning center and one guy pulls out his rotary waxer/buffer and does each lens for $10. Simply cleaning your headlights well can make a big difference too. Maybe not like new if it's really bad but it can make a very noticeable difference in how bright your headlights are. Obviously it helps if you do this on a regular basis and don't let them get really bad. I did this on a 20 year old car on one side and did a before and after test at night with the head lights shining on a wall / whatever and the cleaned side was significantly brighter. Uncleaned side was much dimmer and yellowed. It's something we should get into the habit of like cleaning the inside windows too.

You'll get very temporary results using this method, it will go back to yellow in a week or two. Do this for better long lasting results: 1. Wet sand. 500 grit 1000 grit 1500 grit 2000 grit 2. Wipe down with rubbing alcohol (degrease). 3. Use UV resistant clearcoat for permanent clearness. Or simply use a restoration kit.

Oh boy you just killed the thing, created thousands of tiny scratches, that'll affect lighting badly, you never use a dish scotch to clean a head light, white vinegar with lemon would do without scratching! If you want to fix that mess, wet sand them 3k & 5k g and get a high quality special lacquer on top, they'll be ok for a couple of years, will look and lit great.

Some side job mechanic once told me to spray wd40 on the headlight cover and after a few days of using wd40 and some elbow grease, it will work. Haven’t tried. Anyone know if this works?

You've just cleaned dirt off them. But they are still damaged to the point where the light is affected. You wasted your time... from 1000 to 3000 wet sand and then machine Polish. That is 100% the only way to fix that light.
