E0 Ruan Mei with 124.439% ER (so ER rope and Vonwacq/Penecony) and S5 Memories of the Past gains 131.906 energy with a skill > 2x basic rotation, but that sacrifices a BE rope so unless your stats are cracked i still wouldn't recommend it. You can get a comfortable skill > 3x basic rotation with only S2 MotP and skill > 2x basic if you use her technique before a fight

If you use S5 MOTP/Cogs LC (S4 MOTP puts you on 129.4/130 energy) and have 124.4% ERR (ERR rope + 5% set) you have 3t ult with skill auto auto rotation, it’s exactly the same as Tingyun. If you’re missing any 1 of these things that’s when it becomes RNG reliant on getting hit.

I don't see why you make it sound as tho you have to choose between a break effect build or a 3 turn got, you can litteraly have both if you use the R5 memories of the past lightcone. "Tingyun" gets a lot of break effect from her traces and you can get enough just from substats while also running an ER rope and ER planar set.

Regarding Dr. Ratio, wouldn't DOT suffice for debuffs on enemies? I checked somewhere it said that DOTs are indeed buffs on enemies. So wouldn't Kafka, or any other dot character's debuf would work for Ratio?

Yes but... you only have 4 slots for characters and you probably want at least 1 sustain so that leaves 2 slots for say kafka and maybe a guinafen, or you could just use one nihility character(or e1s1 topaz) with a lot of debuffs and then run a harmony unit like Asta(who can also burn with basic atks) for the speed and atk buff. an E0 kafka only does 1 debuff, her lightning DoT, Sampo and Luka can do 2 debuffs. and you REALLY want to have at least 3 debuffs minimum for consistencies sake when using ratio but he'll scale up to like 5 or 6 debuffs for best results. Ration himself can do 1 debuff. So overall yes you can just run him with DoT characters, but DoT characters really want kafka with them to pop the DoT's whereas a hunt char like dr ration likes things like def shred or res down from silverwolf, you can also be more flexible if you have 1 unit that does at least 3 debuffs on their own since you can then have a flex slot. which is better really depends on the enemies honestly. probably one of his favorite supports will be e1 Guinafen with the def shred LC since thats 4 debuffs, 2 of which increase the damage the enemy takes, plus she has a talent that boosts her forward at the start of battle so you can get her debuffs out b4 ratio starts attacking.

You can have a 3 turn Ultimate AND 180 Break Effect. They're not mutually exclusive, she's just going to require a little bit of farming and relic luck. Break Effect Rolls are average 6%ish, the 4* lightcone gives 50-60% break effect at higher Superimpositions, the break effect set gives 16% for 2 piece and another 16% for 4 piece, and her Traces ALONE give a whopping 57.3%! So, even at only S3-S4 of the lightcone, and full traces, with only 2 set (for ease of building, 4 set would also be a boost), you're looking at a baseline of ~120% Break effect. That means you need only 10 rolls of Break effect across 6 pieces of gear to hit 180%, which is INCREDIBLY easy to do. That's less than 2 rolls a piece: a single piece with 2-3 rolls on it basically covers you, and by now, a lot of players probably have random pieces that "bricked" on rolling 2-3 break effect. As long as they didn't feed them into other artifacts, under the wild assumption that they would never need break effect for anything, most players can definitely hit 180% break effect no sweat.

I already have 154% without Ruan Mei's traces, and I don't even have S5 Memories. She gets around 60% with traces iirc, so even if I removed the break effect rope with err, it should still be enough to hit 180.

You can power creep absolutely whatever you want, it's only a matter of the numbers you add. Remember how everyone called Ganyu a 5* Amber but then she came out with insane charge shoot multipliers? Same could happen here. Maybe the new character detonates them twice, or with 200% damage, or maybe the detonation can crit.

@@darksunDS If you look at certain characters' trace menu, for example Jingliu, her ult is tagged as [Blast] as well as her 2nd skill "Moon on Glacial River". Even in combat you can find these tags on character abilities. Another example, Blade, will have his basic attack tagged as Single Target but after you cast his skill it changes to Blast. These tags have been there for the longest time.

Power creep is going to just happen with new content. As long as you can clear the content it's all good. Ruan Mei will probaly be the strongest sole/general support for a while, Hanabi is more of a hyper carry support (but also have limited number of units that can use her full effect). I expect them to make even more broken support but will have a niche to use their full effect, for example we already have 2 examples to pull from. First we have Asta/Yukong who buff Fire/Imaginary with their major traces, what if that was applied to a skill, maybe its a weaker effect than a normal support skill and stronger if it's the right element (could also apply to factions too for example one of the Xianchou Generals might buff all Xianchou units). The second is Lynx who increases threat of certain Paths, what if there are future units who have an extra effect for certain paths. Having a break Tingyun is fine and all but she still needs the speed and attack to apply her main benefits and let's be honest she still needs survivability. The only one I would say is "essential" for Ruan Mei is Silverwolf since she can apply different weaknesses.
