It's easy to notice when editing is bad and hard to remember when it's good, so I wanted to make sure to shout out to Matt and Kathleen for the A+ work on this one- the highlighting on the walkie-talkie in the cupboard; the juxtaposition of Beej saying he can't do something and Ian having already done it; the reminders of the locations for the audience; Cameron's facial expressions; the focus on everyone's final walk, and so on.

It's actually pretty effective when problem-solving - the rubber duck method. Explain your problem to something nearby (like a rubber duck), and think what advice it would give back. The act of verbalising the problem prompts you to think from a different perspective.

Kathleen definitely focused on the "fastest" part, not necessarily the "walkie-talkie" part in the beginning, huh? :D Ian engineering the sh** out of that walkies with the help of Siri was great!

I probably would've tried to make a feed back loop with the first two walkie talkies and used that to find the others. Edit: I see Kathleen ended up with the same strat as me.

Ditto. I've worn them for work and feedback loops are a common annoyance. My second idea was to do what Ian did, but with tape. It's kinda surprising he didn't notice all the tape in that room!

What the heck is with the acoustics in the prop room?

Not only was it under muffling stuff, those high-pitched bleeps are really difficult to pinpoint. It's why some places have replaced the truck backing up beep with blasts of white noise, we can tell where that's coming from a lot more easily. I've had to find a cell phone with a "low battery bleep" (we didn't know what the sound was, it was an emergency use phone just left in a backpack) and until I was right on top of it I couldn't tell a thing. Being in a kitchen didn't help, that beep could have been anything.
