I think you meant that Harry Bluetooth was king of Denmark and Norway from 958 - 986 AD, not “from 1958 to 1986”. 😂 In those years, it was Harry Bluetooth the XXXVII who was King of IKEA (jk).

Bluetooth has been a lifesaver. I selected Phonak due to Bluetooth connectivity features. It does drain batteries though and I can’t make it through my waking hours without having to put my devices back in the charger to get through my day. I can’t wait until i have devices with Bluetooth LE audio to have the additional benefits you mentioned in today’s video.

Thanks again for a great lesson. I look forward to all hearing aid manufacturers utilizing LE Audio. Especially, if it would allow me to simultaneously connect to my iPhone and iPad. Right now I have Phonak aids for that reason, but would love to see other manufacturers do the same.

Hopefully we'll start seeing LE Audio adapters coming onto the market soon. I'd hate having to spend yet another $1000 to a new LE Audio compatible phone or tablet.

The text on the video was correct, but you may have misread it in the voiceover. Bluetooth is not "shortwave" but it is "short range". Conversely the shortwave band of the radio spectrum, typically between 1.6 and 30 MHz, and is used for long-distance communication.

Bluetooth multi-stream audio should also make Bluetooth headphones way nicer in video games with voice chat, switching between music and Teams/Zoom meetings, and even switching between phone+computer audio. Because it'll let you have not just separate audio streams to each earbud independently, but also separate microphone streams from each earbud and separately. No longer need to constantly switch modes between mic+mono audio for video chats and stereo audio for music.

When will Apple switch the iPhone to LE Audio. I’ve got the Nexia aids and am waiting for Apple to apply the new codec so that I can take advantage of LE Audio. What phones were you able to test on in your trials?

Thanks for a great technical explanation of Bluetooth le audio. I just got a pair of Phonak hearing aids for the Bluetooth Classic but my battery drains before the day is out. I am seriously discussing changing back to Oticon. I would get the Intent 1. I especially like the idea of BT le audio. Can you recommend any le audio transmitters for use with a Mac computer. I already have the Oticon tv streamer 3 for my tv and would like to leave it connected. Thanks so much. Paul

I have Widex Evoke hearing aids with a comdex interface for Bluetooth. I don't believe my hearing aids would be compatible with this, since they are several years old. There hasn't been an update to the hearing aid software for about 3 years. I would welcome something like this but to upgrade would be prohibitively expensive. I'll keep what I have till these die.

Dr. Cliff, could you do a future evaluation of BT hearing aids to see how much radiation they are putting out? Wearing these all days next to our heads might not be such a good thing. Haven't seen anyone else discuss this.
@JeremyTaylorNZ8 ай бұрын
wow, I just got a massive echo of all the cellphone fearmongering from a few years ago. Non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation such as radio waves used by Bluetooth devices will hurt you in exactly the same was as non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation from things coloured blue, ie light that looks blue. Not at all.
@joshuacarpenter44778 ай бұрын
@@JeremyTaylorNZ Are you sure of that? There's studies (and YT videos) that show radiation from Apple Airpods that are beyond the safe levels recommended. The radiation passes from one ear into the other with the brain in-between. If its not recommended to hold a cell phone next to your head for hours at a time, what happens when BT hearing aids are worn all day? Its worth investigating.

I wish I can agree that the wait is finally over. It's not. All hearing aids needs to adopt to this le audio. It's so disappointing that this technology that will have a great impact for everyone is not quickly adopted. I can tell you numerours things I can do with this kind of audio. I am disappointed to the point of anger at the length of time this is taking. Will I be dead when it finally happens. Maybe that would be mercy to this endless pain of waiting. I've heard about this a little over four years? Somebody please kill me if I need to wait another four damned years. Totally ridiculous!

Bluetooth LE is great for the iPhone world. NOT so much for the Android world. Most Android phones do not support LE ... and Android has the majority smartphone market share worldwide. Why are so many hearing aid manufacturers catering to iPhone-only customers, and ignoring over half of their possible worldwide market share?
