Which do you think are the most important new features for you? Matthew
@Jim181059 Жыл бұрын
I don't know about these particular devices but, generally, speech in noisy environment (obvs 😀) but also sound quality. I love music and if I'm going to invest in high end aids, I want to know that they will sound good, not just clear.
@jeffshamus1914 Жыл бұрын
Important: Sounding natural, hearing voices clearly in a restaurant, being invisible, auto-switching in different environments. Not important: having to change a battery, BT streaming, answering calls, price.

Smooth Bluetooth performance, and for me, the ability of the companion app to transcribe my work meeting so I can see it as text and save it for later. Does the new Hear Share do transcription well?

Any idea if/when Starkey will add wireless to the CIC model? That’s important to me so am trying to decide if I should wait for this with Genesis or go with the Evolv.
@jeffshamus1914 Жыл бұрын
@@Sue-oc4qh I think they had so many problems with the Evolve CIC wireless they left it off of the Genisis Series. Not sure if they will figure it out or just leave it out permanently. I have the IIC and I use the T2 app which is 10 years old and flakey, but it works to change programs and volume (no Bluetooth).

Hi Alan, great question and I’ll throw another back. If you’re happy why change tech? There have been significant changes, so it would be worth it, but I’d only look for new tech if you feel that you need to see improvements. Thanks for the compliment and taking the time to watch! Matthew

You forgot to mention the biggest change and feature to the RIC's being they are IP68 Waterproof. Just to thoroughly test the durability I tried my hardest to kill them and took them in the shower and even shampooed with them in and I could not kill them. I got the left mics sensitivity to reduce slightly but a quick puff of air fixed it immediately.

Hey Matthew - AWESOME content! I am new to HA, but I feel I am almost an expert now after watching many of your videos! I have the Genesis IIC on order from my audiologist (due in 2 weeks). Hi Jeff, I hope you don't mind me asking, but how are you getting on with your Starkey Genesis IIC Hearing Aids? Thanks, John.
@jeffshamus1914 Жыл бұрын
@@johnwindle6378 Hi John - I had them for about a month and then returned them. 3 problems for me: 1. The length of the pull cord sat in my ear in an uncomfortable position. 2 The complete plugging of my ear felt claustrophobic to me, and I kept taking them out. 3. The only app they had at launch for changing volume and programs was T2. It worked intermittently for me. I changed to the Signia Silk 7X which I like much better as I don't even feel them in my ears. However, I am disappointed that Signia sold me the old technology when in 3 months they came out with the IX version.

22K per second. We're approaching "CD quality" for hearing aids. Nice. One thing I really hope they changed was the, IMO, dumb volume control using your phone which was always hit or miss for me and definitely not inconspicuous. The other change I'd like to see is improved feedback control. For those of us with IIC hearing aids with large vents, that can be big problem ..especially if you happen to put any object near your ear.
@HearingTracker Жыл бұрын
Hey Dennis, I don't know if it helps but there are remote controls that you can use as an alternative to your phone, which would be a little more discrete. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Matthew
@workingTchr Жыл бұрын
@@HearingTracker The only remote that will work on my Starkey hearing aids is the T2 Remote which sends out DTMF dialing tones. When an ambulance goes by and hits the same frequency, the hearing aid volume will change! So I've had to disable remote feature altogether. They have a bluetooth control now (for aids that have BT), but gigahertz is so much better. I don't understand why they don't use that.

I apologize for being a nay-sayer but this "review" seems more like an ad. There is a lot about new features especially battery life but there is no information on sound quality. @@hearadvisor That's great. I have to say that trying to get useful performance data and specs is too difficult. I finally decided to trust an audiologist rather than do the due diligence I usually do with major purchases. I bought some top of the line hearing aids and returned them several months later. Being a scientist, the more I learn about hearing aids the more surprised I am. I really wonder how good the algorithms are and whether some new thinking is needed. I am tired of all the sources who say great this and great that but I will be a much harder sell the next time.

They're just hearing aids... that Beep beep beep for no reason many many times a day sometimes an hour and change the setting which is depending on having your cell phone somewhere near you or they just go back to the basic setting. I swear if the wind hits them they change their setting and God help you if you have a custom setting because you have to have your cell phone for it to work . Artificial intelligence is stupidity then you could say they're AI but the bottom line is some doctor set up your hearing aid and you have no control over what you want to hear and how loud so I end up taking them off when I'm in my truck wanting to listen to music without having to sound like I'm in a closet. Do they work in a closed room with no music and can I hear the clock ticking on the wall if it keeps my setting?.... yes They are just hearing aids which means they are just amplifiers and nothing special about them that I can find so far after wearing them for about six months..... By the way I have mine are the in the rear rechargeable and are good for maybe 16 hours and if you're lucky 24.... they are just hearing aids .... that you can't really turn off because you turn them off and storm somewhere so you don't have to hear them while you listen to your music and then when you put them back in here you find out they turn themselves back on even though you have the automatic turn on setting off.... If you wanna listen to music I'd suggest just buy a $30 set of Walmart EarPods or whatever they call them
