"Alone" is a song by the American rock band Heart, released in 1987 as the lead single from their album *Bad Animals*. Written by Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly, the song became one of Heart's most iconic hits. It features a dramatic melody and powerful vocals, with Ann Wilson's voice delivering an emotional performance that perfectly captures the song's themes of longing and heartbreak. "Alone" reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, solidifying Heart's status in the rock music scene of the late 1980s. The song’s success was fueled by its catchy chorus and the band's skillful blend of rock and pop elements, and it remains a staple of Heart's discography and a favorite among fans.

They put money up for the videos and they worked for a era of the 80s that all know instantly is a 80s Classic. Many classics were songs and videos pushed (as some say) by the studios ... Tina Turner's classic - What's love have to do with it is one that she was not big on doing. It is basically... older boomers as I am a later boomer that have a dislike for the change into the 80s including Heart. We still needed some 80s Heart and their ability to evolve with it is a tribute to the band and its staying power along with others that did not just peak in one decade... but evolved as the Rock era also changed and with it.

'Barracuda'!! It's not only their most famous song, it's one of the all time great rock songs, period. Great reaction gents! Heart is an absolutely necessary rabbit hole to go down! Ann Wilson, especially in the late 70's, was often called the female Robert Plant! This was further supported as the band did a few Zeppelin covers (Rock and Roll, Black Dog, etc.) early on - and Ann always nailed it! HIGHLY recommend: Crazy On You (album or live), Magic Man, Soul Of The Sea, White Lightning & Wine, Dreamboat Annie (all of these are from their first album - Dreamboat Annie), Barracuda, Sylvan Song/Dream Of the Archer (from second album Little Queen - the latter song highlighting how great Ann's voice is!), more 80's fare: Never, If Looks Could Kill, These Dreams... My sister got me into Heart in the 80's (with this song!) and I've loved them ever since! Cheers.

Heart was actually founded in 1967 by lead guitarist Roger Fisher and bassist Steve Fossen. They hired Ann Wilson in 1970 and her sister later joined in 1974. This song was written & performed by two men from the band I-Ten, in 1983. It went nowhere. It was covered by actor John Stamos & his then girlfriend, in 1984. It went nowhere. Capital Records presented the song to Heart in 1986. Ann Wilson didn't care for it. So she changed the vocal arrangements and guitarist Howard Lesse changed the musical arrangements. It was a hit. Many have covered Heart's version but no one has been able to match the success Heart made of it.
