HEART - BeBe' Le strange LIVE
Live from somewhere early 80/81/82
I have a new program that allowed me to play with the colors and hue and saturation. Hope it looks better than what it looks like on the video tape.

Friday ~ November 21, 1980 'Bebe le Strange' Heart performed 'Bebe le Strange' and 'Tell It Like It Is' on the Television Show 'Friday's", which was a late-night Comedy Show aired on ABC-TV. The show was broadcast from ABC Studio's in Burbank, California. 'Heart' had finished their 'Bebe le Strange' tour in September 1980, after being on the road for 8-Months in 1980 {March thru September}. Heart had toured with; * Ian Hunter {as the supporting act} * The Eagles {w/Heart as the supporting act} * Head East, The Joe Perry Project, Blackfoot {as the supporting acts} * Robert Palmer {as the supporting act} 'Heart' was now hitting the Television Circuit during a more relaxed time in their schedule. 'Heart' had also their 'stage get-up outfits'. Ann Wilson was at her thinnest, and was going with the all-black outfits to look thinner. Nancy Wilson was going more traditional, with Dress-Jeans and a smart-top Howard Lesse was now going 'new wave', after a long run with the semi-glam outfits. Mike DeRosier {Drummer} lost the bushy-curly hair and scruffy-beard, and went with a cleaner and a more groomed-look. He looked 'less' ferocious. Steve Fossen {Bassist} went to a more conventional-rock look, with a Kiki Dee~Tommy Ramone helmet hair-cut.

awesome performance. i and other people did not appreciate this band until 1985 far too late and too many awesome concerts missed.

Roger Fisher was the balls of Heart. It's too bad he was ousted. A sadly overlooked and underrated guitar player. He has a few of the most recognizable riffs ever to his name.

November 21, 1980 Heart perfomed 'Bebe le Strange' and 'Tell It Like It Is' on the late night show 'Fridays". The band brought along a 'Brass Section' to provide for the Horn Section of 'Tell It Like It Is'. 1980 was a 'good year' for the Band, as they had struggled mightily during 1979, as they were getting labeled as too folksey with their 'Art Rock' shows which were kind of lame. Interesting, is that Eddie Money, David Gilmour {Pink Floyd} and Gene Simmons {Kiss}were offering their services to the band, to help kick start a comeback.

folksy is not good for fans who wanted hard female rock. would like to hear you explain more what "art rock shows" were but if it means songs like dog and butterfly yes that is lame not rock.

fall 1980 i did not buy heart's first GH album because it did not have rockin heaven down on it and their earlier 1980 album was already getting hard to find in record stores back in those days and i did not drive yet to find it.

Interesting that you mention Gene Simmons offering to help the band because Kiss also offered Roger Fisher who, Heart had fired from the band, a spot on the Kiss roster. (He turned them down) I pretty much lost interest in Heart after Fisher was gone! Although, I did like the Bebe Le strange LP as it still had some scattered remnants of their old sound before they went Pop. Or at least still had some rock & roll feel to it and some good songs.

This is the one song on that album that Roger Fisher actually had a hand in writing even though he was gone from the band by the time this LP came out.

November 21, 1980 From the late night show 'Fridays'. The song 'Bebe le Strange' was recorded in lSeptember/October 1979, with original Lead Guitarist Roger Fisher as the 'main track song' for the upcoming album "Bebe le Strange" which was released on February 14, 1980. Roger was canned from 'Heart' on Halloween Night in October 1979, as the band called it 'Black Halloween' .after an incident during a performance. Howard Lesse was now the featured 'Lead Guitarist' and arranger.
