His problems used to always get in the way and ruin the relationship (symbolized by Brian killing a bunch of people and scaring the girl away) but now he can finally get the upper hand and push them away to finally be himself and find the love he always wanted. Also if you look closely, when Danny says "screw you for judging me" at the end he seems to be talking to Brian, who then looks at the camera in his usual pissed off look. But you know...
