The "Shadow" most people try and claim is the shadow of Darkseid falling on the multiverse is in fact an analogue for Apokalips and "evil" while the "Light" (which is mentioned on the very same page) is an analogue for New Genesis and "Good". Even then, the multiverse was being destroyed by a chain reaction of spreading singularities, not an oversized Darkseid literally falling on it.

Not sure actually, I’m too rusty on both of them to give an answer I’d be confident defending. . Palpatine - Word of God aside (George Lucas hard confirmed Sidious as most powerful Sith of all time), Vitiate relies a great deal more on rituals and minions to match Palpatine directly. In Legends especially, Sidious is functionally the most powerful Force user in existence minus entities and possibly Luke (legends only) and even then, it’s arguable. Yoda was arguably a match for him in canon despite age hampering him but that’s a debate for another time and we know Sidious only got more powerful after Revenge of the Sith anyways so by the time he died no-one was really on his level, even Luke.

Truth be told, we don't even know exactly what TOAA's abilities are. We would go the easy route say, "he can do any and everything," but that's to simple. There's definitely more to it, and there is ONE thing we all know for sure TOAA can NOT do. Can you guess what it is? Anyway, he allowed Thanos to gain the HOTU purposely to "fix" the dead coming back to life in the multi-verse. Sadly, that comic story is no longer canon. So it really doesn't even matter.

I’ll try and give an abridged version of who would win and why but, with this many battles, I’ll wait until someone questions me about individual match ups before giving more details as there’s just not nearly enough space to fit in anything comprehensive. Still, this is gonna take 2 comments I think, maybe 3 so please bear with me. Now, without further ado: ^^ World breaker hulk vs HP doomsday - WBH. WBH has the POTENTIAL to put out gamma radiation to vaporise HP Doomsday all in one go. There’d be nothing left to recover/regenerate from. This is in fact how Imperiex truly killed DD originally. Otherwise it’s an eternal stalemate with Hulk beating DD to death, only for him to come back and then get smacked around indefinitely as Hulk gets too powerful for DD to even hurt while WBH can’t kill HP DD the same way. Basically, DD keeps getting beaten but can’t die. Is that technically a win for WBH?? . Cyttorak, dormammu and mephisto vs trigon - Team. This is a massive oversimplification here, but Trigon is basically the Demonic version of Dormammu. Those 2 together are an almost perfect match for one another. Mephisto is far below either of them - Dormammu has waltzed into Mephisto’s realm and spanked him with no effort in the past and even went so far as to create his own Hell-Lord (Satannish - who himself matches Mephisto) to act as a sleeper agent and spy within their circle of power purely because Dormammu felt like it. Cyttorak is largely unknown but we know he’s able to at least overcome Galactus with basically no effort from inside his realm, the In-Betweener (actually I think it might have been D’Spayre) tapping into a fraction of Cyttorak’s power was warping reality on a universal scale and tearing down the barriers between universes and to spread its influence even further. Trion Juggernaut (Cain empowered with greater than normal amounts of Cyttorak’s energy) was busting holes in reality just by walking around swinging his arms and finally, when Cyttorak himself showed up in a bid to claim Stephen Strange’s soul and use him as a general in the War of the Seven Spheres and threatened to destroy every other being there, not a single one argues with him and no one actually stands up to him. Keep in mind the assembled beings included the Watoomb, the entire race of the Seraphrim, the Vishanti themselves and even freaking ZOM (albeit a Zom still somewhat nerfed by the Chains of Living Bondage). Put Cyttorak and Dormammu together and they’d defeat Trigon. . Destiny vs pralaya - Pralaya. The Endless are ridiculously powerful, but they are inevitably tied to the multiverse (except Death) despite their existing and operating outside of conventional time and space. Pralaya predates and transcends even the Presence, she’s basically the True Form Oblivion of DC, making her arguably the most powerful being in that verse outside of meta individuals and concepts. The only thing that even somewhat limits Pralaya is her “role” in all things just as TFO is limited in Marvel. . Unbound spectre vs the beyonder (pre retcon) - PR Beyonder in a stomp. PR Beyonder was basically TOAA before the concept of TOAA was created. Go look it up. That’s why he was retconned in the first place - because Marvel couldn’t have 2 supreme beings. Spectre (Unbound or not) isn’t touching that - even Atzar himself isn’t touching that. . 3v3 karate kid, Richard dragon and lady shiva vs Shang chi, iron fist and taskmaster - Marvel Team. Karate Kid is MVP in this fight but he gets overwhelmed. Marvel has too much advantage between Taskmaster copying the DC team and taking their skills while Shang-Chi and Iron Fist have bullshit levels of Chi manipulation and physical enhancement the DC team simply can’t match. . The Great Evil Beast vs True Form Oblivion - True Form Oblivion. Considering the Presence itself hasn’t been omnipotent since the Sandman comics and is instead sitting around outerversal somewhere, TFO is beyond its power to defeat/destroy. Only beings with the power to destroy “nothingness” or “the void of non-existence” can ever defeat TFO and from everything we’ve seen, that does not include the Presence. Since the GEB is only a facet of the Presence itself, it’s certainly not stopping TFO. . Empty hand vs Oblivion - Oblivion. Mainly because the Empty Hand hasn’t really been confirmed where it sits in the Cosmic Hierarchy of DC yet. At BEST it’s multiversal from what we know so far. Oblivion might be only a fraction of his True Form, but so was Chaos King and he nearly soloed the multiverse (although how he did it - “reclaiming” power from all the gods and other realms - is questionable when talking about a strait fight). However, I would not be surprised to find out in time that the Empty Hand is far more powerful than just regular Oblivion, we just haven’t seen that yet. . Flash(Barry) vs spiderman villains (doc ock, beetle, mysterio, electro, kraven, vulture, venom, sandman, lizard, rhino, scorpion, green goblin,carnage,) - Depends. If Flash goes all out from the start, he absolutely Godstomps before anyone can react. If not, he’d lose pretty hard. That’s way too many villains with actually viable ways to mess him up. Mysterio’s illusions and Sandman manipulating/destroying the battlefield would be the biggest issues. But Green Goblin has explosions to choral Flash, the Symbiotes and Electro all have omnidirectional attack capabilities which are the bane of speedsters everywhere, Beetle Vulture and Green Goblin have flight and ranged attacks and those 3 combined with Doc Oc and Kraven make for a surprisingly potent team of strategists while Rhino, Lizard and Scorpion act as fodder and distractions due to physical power and durability. But objectively, Flash can’t really lose to anyone who hasn’t got a hard counter to his speed and hax (which none of these guys possess). . Nemesis vs Imperiex - Nemesis. Nemesis was the multiverse itself given form back when the whole thing was still all condensed into a single, prime universe. Imperiex is basically DC Galactus isofar as the scope in which he operates. Not much of a comparison. . Beyonders vs Mandrakk - Depends. There’s 2 ways to look at this. Either you buy into the whole: “Mandrakk is a meta character and thus he stomps non-meta characters, period.” Or, you don’t, in which case the Beyonders slap him via actual showings. Clayface vs sandman - Depends. If weaknesses aren't involved then sandman WOULD win. If he has overcome his water weakness then again sandman for the win but if clayface has even one less weakness than sandman then he'll win. Also, he is completely capable of mobbing William with little mini clayfaces even just as a distraction. We have seen sandman struggle with spiderman mainly because his power set makes him able to attack from multiple angles and divide Sandman's attention so he can't focus all off his superior strength and power. Now I think about it, I'm not sure what Sandman could do to overcome this tactic. Even with his speed and agility, Spidey is still only 1 guy. What's to stop 40 little clayfaces from dog piling sandman while the real one uses the distraction to knock him into power lines or some such?? I think clayface probably wins with this tactic. Plus, considering his history as an actor and a sneak (from his criminal days before he hand any powers to rely on), I think he'd be more likely to try and outsmart Sandman before sandman starts to fight smart. Still there’d be a long period of stalemate before one figures out the other has weaknesses and it would go from there.

I can't believe I never though of this matchup before. This is soooooo good and yea I def think that you are probably right, Marquis would have his hands full for sure and I guess the question would be can the Marquis just up and leave the Marvel multiverse whenever he chooses to do so? If that was the case then yea he'd prolly be on soild ground I would imagine. I guess since even though he is technically a comic book character his origin is that he is from our Universe where he would be reading about HOTU thanos just like you and me, and he is the first and only person to develop powers. Like I said if the head Cannon is that he originally comes from a universe where the LT has no authority and is only a comic characters since it is supposed to be "our real universe" where supposedly both you and I exist reading comics then Marquis would slap. If he is still subject to the fact that it's a comic that lies within the marvel multiverse so the LT does have authority there then he gets absorbed like everyone else. It's just a hard thing to debate either way cause we pretty much know that abstract beings don't really exist in the universe the Marquis hails from, but the LT is like infinitely more powerful than the other abstracts so just because they don't have a place in the Marquis' original universe doesn't mean that he doesn't. At the end of the day I'd prolly give it to Thanos because of feats, though I wouldn't fight too hard if someone argued the case the other way around. The way I see it is narrative wise I'd have say Marquis>Thanos since the story would have him hailing from a universe even beyond the influence of the TOAA. But feat wise(which is personally my way if going about comparisons.) Thanos> Marquis easily since Thanos literally becomes everything that existed within the Marvel continuity and only really him, TOAA, and Adam warlock are left. They did the same with the Presence in DC, but technically Thanos never beat the One Above All he just merged with him, I believe the One above all himself decided to merge with Thanos by his own will, because he mentioned to the Living Tribunal that the Regulators protect the Multiverses from colliding and there are many Regulators and each Regulator of every universe is linked to each other and if its damaged it could cause Multi-dimensional chaos and destruction, if the One above all had destroyed Thanos along with the astral Regulator, it would have destroyed all the Universes/realities in existence hence, destroying all sentient life in the process and the One above all would never want that to happen, also The one above all is omniscient, so he must have known that eventually the present day Thanos will change his mind and would stop the future Thanos and reset everything back to normal using his powers, maybe that's why he didn't destroy Thanos, it could have been the One Above All's masterplan to save all of reality using Thanos.
