I love the video I am doing the heart of Wales Circuit in a few weeks with my mate we are starting at Shrewsbury we are doing The Heart of Wales first then returning via Cardiff

You have to do the full circular route with the " circular ticket " We weren't allowed to return down the line from Shrewsbury..............point of detail

The Central Wales line is a great route and great survivor but crying out for real investment. In school in Llandovery in the early 1970s the arrival of the 3:20pm Cl 120 to Shrewsbury signalled the end of sport for the day - hooray!! Travelling from WestWales on occasions to Shrewsbury/Chester/Manchester it is very difficult the use the route for day business travel though I did mange once last year! The green tunnel effect is a huge issue once the tress are in leaf. Pleased to see some significant infrastructure work on Cynghordy Viaduct recently though!

Mike Wilcock Yeah it’s a shame. My station is Llangennech. About two stops up the line towards Shrewsbury. So Llanelli is my local town. Used to be so much more there.

Joanne Saltfleet Yeah that’s true. I actually went there for my ration of exercise yesterday morning. It’s about the only thing left in Llanelli worth visiting. It is very nice down that way. But the town centre itself is slowly dying.
