I found this stitch in a pattern and was struggling with it..

At the beginning she doesn't say where the yarn should be, if you knit or purl to pull up a loop, Plus, in the video she puts wool around the needle before she pulls up the loop which adds a stitch. She isn't clear and I have knitted for many years. What am I missing since others find this easy?
