The #1 concern people have about doing carnivore is the impact on their cardiac health, is that concern justified? What can we do to improve it?
The 5 Basics Metrics of Health:
1 - Waste circumference
2 - Blood pressure
3 - Fasting glucose level
4 - HDL cholesterol level
5 - Triglycerides

According to my PCP most of his patients would rather be on medication than changing diets. I on the other hand would rather not take medications at all. He approves my Keto diet. When my Total Cholesterol was high at 225 he wanted to put me on statins and told him Nope coz my Triglycerides (68) and HDL(75) are great both under 100 so he said ok why don’t we do a CAC test then we get back to this. So I went and got that done and it came back 0. He then said ok for 60 yrs old you are doing great. I told him I guess Ketovore works for me 😊. He said just keep doing what you’re doing and I wish more of my patients are just like you. ❤❤

That’s great! Good for standing up to your doctor. They do what they were taught in medical school, which is push drugs. They learn very little about nutrition, not enough to help anyone. We are all addicted to sugar and carbs. I remember in the 70s and 80s they said “fat makes you fat,” while you could lose weight that way, it was very difficult to stick to, and people’s blood sugar went up! They have led us astray for decades.

He had 80 year old patients with the vascular system of an 18 year old, and 18 year old patients with a vascular system of what's expected of an 80 year old. I wonder if the 80 year old grew up not eating a poor diet.

It is pretty clear that it is not the LDL cholesterol but the particle count containing the LDL and VLDL cholesterol (APoB) that matters in atherosclerosis. For a metabolically healthy person,LDL cholesterol and APoB counts correlate, but for people with insulin resistance, the APoB can be way higher even if their LDL cholesterol is normal. As he said CAC scan is a good way to check if you have any calcification

For now, it appears that carbs and fructose are the villains. Thanks for doing the interview with Dr. Ovadia.

Hi Pamela. I couldn't tolerate statins either. If you eliminate carbs from your diet everything metabolic will improve in time. I went ketovore/carnivore without asking nor telling my dr. I had thorough labs done every 3 months as I steadily lost weight. I just came from my annual exam. The doc was thrilled with all of my lab results and the 70+ lbs of weight loss in less than a year and a half. Also, the doctor said "you are healing yourself." If I can do this (I'm over 60 & disabled) so can you. Look up dr ken berry and his recent videos on the myths about fruit. You got this!!!!🕊

I have an appointment in a few days to see my primary physician about the results of my blood tests, which includes the lipids. I cannot wait to see how she will interpret my elevated Cholesterol, and LDL. I've done my research, and this video confirms that my numbers do not correlate to a higher risk of heart disease. My Trig/HDL ratio is 1.25, so I'm good. I am prepared to hear her tell me she needs to put me on Cholesterol lowering medication, and I'm prepared to tell her why she doesn’t. 😂 I'm going to ask her to request the cardiac scan to test if I have any signs of heart disease; it that test says I do, THEN I will consider tweaking my diet. I loved this interview with this amazing person. I would so love to have the encouragement of an aware doctor as opposed to someone who is trying to spot my tinfoil hat when I am explaining why my ldl is so high and I won’t take a statin.

Great video! Ive been carnivore/keto throughout 90% of the year, for more than half a decade, I also do extended water fasts, and out of curiosity I had a blood panel done on the 8th day of a water fast, and my HDL was at 41, LDL at 260, and tryglycerides at 160.. My doctor freaked out hehe.. I am guessing that the water fasts throws these numbers out of whack, and when I go back to carnivore my ratio fixes itself, I have been strict carnivore again for the last 3 months and will redo a blood panel without the fasting and see if that changes anything :D I am not overweight by the way.. I lost more than 100 pounds 10 years ago.. by doing keto and fasting.. and have kept the weight off since then

It’s hard to believe that most doctors give so little attention to insulin sensitivity, which is probably the most important aspect of one’s health, and yet, we have the means to make or break it. Get insulin under control and life becomes much less difficult from a health perspective.

I'm Vivek from India, I'm 23 years old. I was diagnosed with osteopenia at 18. My bones are still weak. There's been a very tiny improvement. I, for about 22 days, have been eating one carnivore meal (buffalo meat with about 40% fat, eggs, ghee) And one normal meal of whole wheat, lentils, cooked vegetables. I'm feeling tightness in my chest from last 48+ hours. It's in the left side. It's pretty pretty noticeable. And I have felt shortness of breath since I was a kid. I don't know what's wrong. I went to a cardiologist today and he prescribed some tests. I'll get the results soon. I'll update here if you guys want.

I’m not a doctor, but if I were you, I would do a strict elimination carnivore diet of only meat for 10 days. Mostly Lamb, beef, bison, and some eggs. See how you feel then introduce one new food and see what might be going you problems

I know this video is old but I want to share my moms story. I started doing my mom's shopping a few years ago, We have always had a on again off again relationship growing up I thought maybe she was bipolar. Anyway she wanted to eat more healthy, she always ate a lot of salads and chicken some tuna , fruit well she didn't want to cook anything so more salad and fruit some popcorn and tiny ice cream cones. She was so hateful i had to have my son start dropping off her food. I also couldn't figure out if she was just plain lying or thought she remembered things that didn't happen. I started looking at medical marijuana and CBD oil 😲💰 well then I looked at something about the brain. I started getting already boiled eggs and braunschweiger those meat snacks that have meat and cheese and frozen hamburgers that she could put in the oven. It's been about a year now but I think within 4 mths when my son moved 40 min away I started taking her food again and it was amazing the difference in her. I can spend a hour or so with her and even took her to the store. No argument ,it blew my mind. Anyway fast forward to the holidays and I started giving her more crap , that was on me. She wasn't hateful but started acting a little paranoid and confused. So back to her diet. My mom is 79 so if anyone else is seeing what I saw it's worth a try to change their diets. Happy New Year and good luck in 2024 😁

My close friend is her mom's carer, mom 93yo. Her mom can be horrible to her, not always, and I'm sure her mood improved when they were both told they were pre (daughter) and actually diabetic (mom). They went keto and reversed the insulin problems. Mom's mood was much better. Then they relaxed as mom is addicted to sweet foods and despite getting "diabetic" foods and sweets is now back to being an absolute terror some days. It is such a shame, as being a full time carer is hard enough.

Fascinating video thank you! This video confirms for me the answer to a question I've been asking for years - "Why haven't they found a cure for heart disease & why does it keep killing more & more people?" Answer -> Mainly because too many OTHER medical people will lose their jobs! Rhumatologists, obgyns, & cardiologists for a start. Big pharma, of course. This is also partly why the carnivore diet faces SO much opposition. This is also mainly why the food pyramid is upside down. We've been told the OPPOSITE about our health to actual TRUTH! How appalling for the entire medical 'system' to be based on a lie! A lie that has been perpetuated for so long, it's incredible. Well, I'm trying the carnivore/ keto diet now & I have every confidence that it will improve my health. Excellent work Dr. Ovardia! The world needs more cardic surgeons like you who ask why they keep getting busier & busier! Hey Doc, there are other surgery areas you would be qualified in that are screaming for more surgeons surely?

@nevillegoddard - there's a prevention for heart disease. It's not the carnivore diet. The cure for heart disease is invasive surgery. There will never be a cure for heart disease after you have it. People want it easy.

I think it has a lot to do with the pharmaceutical companies. We are inundated with commercials for all kinds of drugs in the US. It’s big business, so they want us to stay on the drugs. When they come out with new ones they are extremely expensive, so they want you to switch you to the new one. I’ve refused to do it many times because I’m doing fine on the older, cheaper ones. Why haven’t they found a cure for cancer, autoimmune diseases, etc.? It’s the same reason, big money is made when you’re sick, not healthy. What a sick world we live in, where doctors would do this to their patients!

Hi, first saw you in the very beginning, the trip to Hospital. I had recently started a high fat low carb diet. that was very confronting, but im delighted to say how well you look now. This was a great topic, as we who eat this way face these controversial topics and with not a lot of help from main stream medical. I did just want to mention an observation ( now im no rocket scientist, and likely im wrong ! ) but when i did the conversion of the US value of mg /dL to mmol/L, I got the same results ? thats the Triglycerides to HDL ratio as part of the Metabolic score. I congratulate you on your amazing progress and will look forward to seeing even better results in the future. I can say at about 18 months you really kick off, Ive really enjoyed this journey of discovering my own health. We are now a vast community of like-minded people. all the best to you.
