I got my blood work all checked recently……my A1c was great! And cholesterol “slightly” elevated….i got lots of stuff checked and everything was good. But the cholesterol issue…..doc (I did NOT tell him I was a carnivore) said I should go on a Mediterranean diet to bring down my cholesterol. lol, I just laughed to myself. There is nothing in the world I could do to eat any healthier than I am now!

@@CarnivoreguyScott there is also a long back story to my doctor too. In 2005 he said I was pre diabetic and told me that in 2 weeks I was to come back and he’d put me on meds because “that’s all you can do” even after he told me to go see a dietitian. HE HAD NO THOUGHTS THAT CHANGING DIET WOULD HELP! Needless to say, in two weeks I did NOT go back and get on meds…..and in a month, I went in just to weigh on their scales ( down 30 lbs in one month) and prove a point. All from going low/ no carbs. I did check my blood sugar twice a day for those first two weeks, and every day it got better and better. Now, I did yo- yo diet for years until last year when I went carnivore. That’s the WAY TO GO for sure!

Sir, Thanks for this vid. Your Cholesterol, LDL, HDL and TRI and near mine and I was a bit concerned (2 yrs carnivore). My average from my July 2024 blood test is 1.6 (still high but coming down) but in 2022, 2 weeks before I went carnivore my average was 7.6. This really helped my mindset. Also of an unrelated note: being in the military medical system, a lot of things are not optional (I have to pick up my meds and can't deny em - but I throw away). I finally have a new Dr (changes nearly every year in military) and she said she was seriously concerned about the cholesterol and LDL, but I told her I have been carnivore for 2 years and listed all of my improvements, weight, migraines, Gerd, ED, inability to walk straight etc. I am a stroke survivor, had it a day after I returned from a TDY overseas. (I had her check my medical record and she agreed with my self assessment). She said she tries to be open minded (does not agree with due to medical training) but it appears to be working for me, so she basically said besides those numbers everything else appears to be great.

Which means you're healthier now than you've ever been🎯~yes! My husband retired after 34 yrs in military, was on a host of medications, & everything you say is spot on. Over the past few years eating this way (& dropping 60 lbs), he is off of statins, BP meds, heart "regulating" meds, GERD, opiates, sinus/allergy & more. Only thing left is the CPAP machine, which honestly has become a security blanket, since at one point, he nearly died at a sleep study center. It scared the heck out of staff & has used the machine ever since. Because he is now retired, they cannot force the meds, but it's been a long road for him to trust his body to heal itself after so many decades within the system~ he was military kid growing up as well. Lots of wonderful things about the military, yet the medical portion truly needs to catch up~ same as civilian, for that matter. Really glad to hear you are doing so well, & you have a doctor who is at least open minded. We've found that having a nurse practitioner or phycisian's assistant as our primary can often provide more flexibility, & they tend to be big researchers too~ more up to date & open to what we're doing.Sam in AZ

In spite of being carnivore. This story has nothing to do with "Humans". As a newbie aquarium hobby fan. I was extremely rigorous doing all the water tests. PH corrections. Filters cleaning, bla, bla, bla. I had graphs and recorded database with all the values and test results. The whole shebang. After several months of "less than ideal" results. With fish under stress, not reproducing, dying. Plants in stress, etc. All that meaning serious unbalances in the environment. I kind of "gave up". And mostly stopped all that "intervention". Lo & behold the systems stabilized the environment improved. Fish stop dying and getting sick. And even reproduced! LOL 🙂 Sometimes it's better to let "nature" alone. It has a lot more experience than us. ;-)

Love this info. I went keto a 1.75 years ago. Pushed my HMO for 3 months the to get a CAC score. It was bad. Angiogram put me in the ICU o we the weekend for a heart stent the following Monday for a 90% blockage in the LAD. That was March. I’m still low carb and NOT afraid of fats or meat. I’m waiting for the HMO minimal blood test when they’ll scream at me for a higher LDL. I will pay for my own deep dive panel next month. Been going to the gym every other day and eating 2 meals most days. We’ll see. I definitely want to compare my values with those that gave me high APOb (before I screamed about the scan for 3 months). Glad I was obnoxious.

This was a GREAT episode. I ran my numbers after ONE MONTH of carnivore on that ratio was 0.66 (dated 9/2023)… back in 2015 my ratio was 1.94 😬. ALSO, as a fellow clinician… 13:47 “they end up feeling horrible” “that’s what it takes to get healthy” - ARGH. I can’t tell you how frustrated I am by this… particularly as my other working activities now includes involvement with naturally farmed pasture based ranching… I feel like I’m going back to school all over again. SO many doctor, nurses, PharmDs, DPTs, etc are taught are certain set of knowledge items… it practically becomes doctrine, and it’s hard for even the smartest of individuals to dig themselves out of “what is known” to what actually works… reminds me of scenes from the classic Planet of the Apes. Mind you, have a clinical doctorate, MBA, and a degree in Bioengineering… and to date I feel like I know less and less information that MATTERS, only learning it now through recent personal experiences and professional pursuits. Thank you as always for your important work! 🙏🙏🙏

🎯Absolutely. Was just responding to another commenter that we have found nurse practioners & physicians assistants to be more open to newer info/data, plus they tend to have more interest in- & time for- researching themselves. Many insurance comanies will allow either of these as primary~ PCP/PCM. A good direction to consider if someone's struggling it find a doctor to listen, or is in between docs for whatever reason.

It's really shaking me up..I looked it up and it says the main cause is insulin resistance and then smoking..I switched to carnivore in February so hopefully the insulin resistance is healing..I smoke weed, I use it as a tool for my condition (incomplete spinal cord injury) it truly helps me in so many ways..now I'm wondering though if it it attributing to the atherosclerosis as well..I've lost 50 lbs since starting in February and it actually seems to be helping my body come back online..I was in a car accident 22 years ago and have been trying to figure out how to get better ever since..over the months I've really been able to get in tune with how what food makes me feel and steak makes me feel magical..I'm going in deeper and deeper..my body doesn't even want salt now..my goal right now is to keep up with just mainly steaks and then ground beef, some with organs mixed in and then of course water..I feel like a completely different person in such a beautiful way I just WISH I had this information as a teenager..but then..my journey would not be as it has..I am Thankful Grateful and Blessed and bow on my knees in deep gratitude to the cows..I really truly mean it..this is a very spiritual experience for me..I am so thankful and just wanted to share..I love reading everyone's successes! He says my system is full of plaque and i need to get my cholesterol down. But my cholesterol has always been right at 109 or even a bit lower. When i told him i didn't want the statins, he got MAD! I don't understand the fireman analogy, because the firemen, for the most part, were not at the burning house before the fire started. However, in the instances when a fireman was at the house before the house burned, the fireman often started the fire. LDL cholesterol, however, is frequently high before the cardiac event occurs.
@Homesteadhow

That’s because there’s a big fire in.e. inflammation so the cholesterol or firemen are going there to try to put out the fire, but they’re getting the blame the fire is inflammation from sugar and processed foods. We shouldn’t be eating or other highly inflammatory activities

Hello all, I'm 45 years old, as of January 2023 I was 6 ft tall, 347 lb. As of July 4th my weight is 274 lb. I was on pretty strict carnivore all the way through June, I started drinking coffee and a little more dairy after June. I even ate a little bit of fruit at the beginning of this month and it made me snore again. I'm back to strick carnivore with a little bit of cheese. My question is about cholesterol and my arteries. I ate the standard American diet and went way overboard for 45 years, the damage that I did to my body and to my arteries because of all the insulin resistance is what I'm worried about. Does that correct itself because I'm on a proper human diet or are my arteries damaged forever?

Perhaps a consequense of my academic and professional background in geology, but I am comfortable thinking in millions to billions of years. It is sometimes hard to have conversations with pepple with non-scientific liberal arts backgrounds. I have found it easier and more effective to speak in language and ideas that resonate with peoples backgrounds. I have found it helpful to describe humanities 6,000 to 10,000 year dalliance with carbs as a type of "Faustian Bargain" and as a consequence people are living their lives in a "Guilded Cage", enslaved to the shareholders of the processed food, health insurance, and pharma industries. One can envision that if not for the cultivation and consumption of agricultural grains, humanity would still be a fully nomadic species running around with sticks and spears in search of game for our daily sustenance. If not for grains, there would be no civilization as we know it with written language, art, music, culture, science, and technology. However, we now have a better understanding of the long term health consequences of relying on carbs and plant-based industrial seed oils for our daily sustenance. We are now in a position to both have our cake and it it too. We can eat a healthy meat based diet AND retain the best of what civilization has brought us. There is a time and a place for everything. The time for carbs has passed. We thank you for bringing us civilization, but it is time to get back to who we really are (hyper-carnivores) in terms of anatomy, physiology, and metabolism.

There's conflicting data, some shows that high saturated fat intake and low carb intake increase large LDL and lowering the amount of small dense LDL (good thing) But there's at least one RCT showing the opposite.

So how do you heal the damage that’s already in the vascular and arterial system?
@sughrasultana8951
@sughrasultana8951 Ай бұрын
My theory is by cutting out sugar, carbs and seed oils inflammation levels and insulin resistance goes down no more new damage existing damage gets a chance to heal and stays healed with a proper human diet. The human body has tremendous healing capacity but needs the right tools to do the job.

Check Dr Cywes latest videos. He is analyzing alternative drugs that can be used for people that already have heart disease. He focuses on drugs that reduce inflammation and anticoagulants like baby aspirin. Also something that many people that focus on diet don't consider is the need for stress reduction. Learning coping mechanisms to deal with stress, deep breathing exercises and meditation are proven to be helpful. I combine my walks with deep breathing and I also do tai-chi exercises (gentle on the joints and helpful for relaxation)
