I like the insights that you provided in this video. First and foremost is how emptiness is misunderstood and you correctly point out that emptiness means empty of svabhava (inherent existence). Hopefully your audience get to that MOST important point that emptiness means always-relative-to-something-else. And of course you had to skip (12 links of dependant originations) .. no ignorance end of ignorance to no old age and no end of old age path because that will make the video a hell lot longer. I also understand most people understands the sutra only at skin level i.e "no nose, no object of nose, no nose consciousness" and that is even in the 13th century to which Ven Tuệ Trung famously pinched the nose of his monk to rattle his ignorance (avijja) to get the monk to understand the deeper meaning behind this sentence. Hence it is important to remind people that emptiness means empty of svabhava. I however do not like the notion (CMIIW) that simply reciting the mantra is useless. Reciting the mantra daily for one hour non stop with full concentration will definitely rattle your cage of ignorance (avijja) and unleash vijja in you. And may even be better than trying to understand the sutra intelectually. After all the bodhisatva who expounded this sutra (avalokiteshvara)got his insight (prajnaparamita) because of his concentrated effort in listening to the various sounds of the world, instead of understanding the meaning of the heart sutra. Anything will work be it deep reading or mantra reciting as long as you have the goal to understand and end your suffering.

Why can’t we use real human voicing these topics. The computer generated pronunciations almost contradict the sentiment attempting to be portrayed. After all… this topic is for human understanding, not digital cyborg evolution. Bring back the humans!

Best explanation I have found so far, succinct, and thought provoking. The relatable examples really helped. The AI voice was interesting, it's cold and non-emotive nature perhaps emphasized more this idea of 'emptiness'.

There is no any confusion. Original name is Avalokiteshvara ( in male form) in ancient India. He has many emanations...... in different Country.......ex. Guanyin ( female form) in China.

Well…. It probably doesn’t matter if you know the meaning as long as you chant in Sanskrit. Sanskrit chants work regardless of anyone knowing the meaning in detail.

Vanhiudmom - No that is right- SANskrit is in essence ‘meaning’ It was supposed to be cognised directly and is meant to reflect meaning directly so that the mind resonates without the intellect interpreting … hard to think about I know!
@valhoundmom
@valhoundmom 3 ай бұрын
@vivtodd2473 yes I know. I also use sanskrit for the same reason. My point was that a sutra about none being used to bring thento being is a little contrary to the purpose of the sutra. Just my thought. But ultimately, if it helps that is all.😊

yes, once you get to know more of Buddhism this heart sutra will make more sense to recite it. if you just see this sutra by itself n try to read n understanding the meaning without knowing the whole package ofc it not easily accepted by your educated mind :)

All the heart sutra is the logic or way for the brain to settle down, calm down, and feel peace. In scientific it is simple, lower down the brain frequency, when brain frequency lowered, the brain wave now can act more towards receiver properties from transceiver properties. This can give the neurophone read/write clear and crisp digital signal from brain or into brain. However, there are ways to make the target brain through time-space return to nearly 0Hz, to directly control or posses that target body. Or, retain consciousness while target sleep, and tune to around 4Hz and below, to communicate to target like Islam known wahyu, prophet method. There are many other ways, scientific ways, not just these two, include physical, or in terms of light color, or etc. There is no need heart sutra, if the apparatus is designed at best. Scientific way is to overcome the issue of ability to read/write brain while brain activity is high, not to calm down.

Brain wave is the response of hormones released by heart. Like anxiety etc. So this sutra is not about lowering brain frequency or something related to brain but to lower down the heart beat so that people can escape the emotional heaviness in their heart. Science and faith are like 2 sides of the coin. They cannot exists together yet one cannot exist without another

can you write this in your own language and then I'll hit translate? I can usually guess, but it's too high concept for me to figure out exactly, but it's intriguing and I want to know. Also, what is the source of that information?
@SuperEyesandEars
@SuperEyesandEars 3 ай бұрын
@@SandyCheeks63564 what he refer to as brain wave its related to science topic. while discussing heart sutra is a spiritual topic.. both are diffrent topic in each own specialty.. i.e. physical illness vs mental illness, but both could have a relating impact on 1 person.

Heart Sutra is logic........ you sounds Very Ignorant!!!!! This is one of the most profound Wisdom. People who truly understand this meaning is half way to the enlightenment. Its not like just finish reading a book, and understand the meaning only. Buddhadharma is to contemplate, to absorb the depth of its meaning, through many methods. Then why do Scientist put Lama on the trial to understand the brain? Why do Scientist learn to meditate as well?
