@slk3112. ‘What a Fool Believes’ is the title of Mike’s memoir/ autobiography. I don’t usually watch Jimmy Fallon (I much prefer Colbert or Kimmel) but Mike and comedian/actor Paul Reiser were on Fallon in May ‘24 and I watched their segment. I couldn’t imagine why they would be on; that was why. Turns out Paul and Mike have long been friends (who knew?) and Paul helped him write the book. Fantastic.

Equal to anything in music to my ears is a broad repertoire of Motown, sometimes to tears including a phenomenal American Idol performance by Jacob Lusk 12 years ago in a rendition of Mervin Gaye’s “You’re All I Need to Get By”. Phenomenal: and also accompanied by a grand master of bass. I am no professional but I considered that as equal to any vocal I have ever heard. Barry Gordie was asked about the surprise popularity of his “black” music. He replied that he did not produce black music, that he produced music. Amen. This attitude needs to permeate all.

That's the beauty of artists like this..... Was thinking the same thing while listening to Steve Perry's new album...... There just aren't artists these days with 1/10th the talent being promoted in the industry. There is tons of talent out there, it's not like it doesn't exist, we just have a music industry that's become a machine of image with no regard for said talent anymore. It's all about the "quick fix" now. The 2.5 minute single. No such thing as long form exploring, LP's, or supportive radio to even play it, it's come down to a business of selling singles on iTunes. If you want to find modern talent, you have to seek it out yourself, there isn't a machine to feed it to you anymore.

Neither Loggins or McDonald have seemingly lost a bit of their voices. Rarely do you hear singers continue to sound stellar over the course of their career. Time tends to takes a toll on the vocal chords. But whatever they’ve done over the years to protect their voices - combined with God’s good grace in blessing their instruments - has given us even better performances out of them both.

However, Kenny deserves top accolades here...he is at peak form form and is right up there with Michael in terms of his soulness and performance...and David Foster....what a dream team! Kenny Loggins is my favorite male performer. When he and Michael McDonald perform together it is pure magic. This song is perfection. Heart to Heart.... Kenny performed it as a single, and this just adds to the magic.I also love Michael McDonald , and What a Fool Believes is beyond awesome.. Thank you for this.

Loved them then, love them today. Michael still has to that amazing soulful voice. Kenny is still doing his vocals with class. Love the sounds of the musicians and back up singers!!!

Now kiddies these are called musicians, & the things they are playing are called instruments. No computers just raw talented musicians!! Here endeth the lesson 😏

I'd be honored if some Kenny Loggins & Michael McDonald fans would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal performances of HEART TO HEART and WHAT A FOOL BELIEVES on my YT channel in tribute to their legendary collaborations. Live acoustic with no autotune or digital editing. Peace and stay safe in the '020s.

The so called music stars of these days who are number one in different charts are nothing compared with this state of the art singer who even with a bad cold sings 5 times better than any current fusible star of the money making circuit, My dear friend who shares the same feeling like me for this outstanding artist, receive a warm greeting from the oldest new world, Peru, and have a nice 2021!!!

In 2011 I had the pleasure, the pleasure, the pleasure! of seeing Michael McDonald in concert! Boz Scaggs was featured with him, and I was thinking "Nobody wants to see Boz Scaggs!" OMG! That was the best! concert I had ever seen. Boz Scaggs sung his butt off!!! And Michael McDonald!!!! He was so fantastic!!! I can't put it into words!!!

Vocals are legendary. Musicians were masterful. The *saxophonist* was exceptional! Would not have been the same if it was synthetic or exchanged with another instrument.
