@ honestly, I think it’s the passing game that, if corrected with a true deep threat, would change the entire defensive schemes against the Chargers. Right now, because there isn’t any kind of deep threat, even with McConkey in the line-up, defenses can load the line on obvious run plays and stuff the run. On third and long, with very little deep threat, Ds can still go 5-6 rushers and hurry or dump Herbie because there’s no one open. Fix the pass threat first, then let’s see where it goes.

A few observations on the latest inevitable loss to the Chiefs... 1) The Chargers defense's inability to close out a game against the Chiefs is as much of a sure thing as the sunrise and sunset. Regardless of the coaches, players, doinks, etc. 2) Charger Defenders: Just because Mahomes pump fakes or jukes, you don't have to stop in your tracks and wait--you're still allowed to rush the passer without hesitation and tackle him to the ground. 3) Herbert's "miss" to Palmer on the deep ball was actually on Palmer. The SlowMo clearly showed Palmer making a last second sidestep to the right instead of running straight, which caused him to lose a step or two and end up short of the ball. 4) Why isn't D.J. Chark being utilized? Why didn't the Chargers throw the deep ball to Chark instead of Palmer? 5) Justin Herbert: When you know the Chiefs are going to bring the heat, why stand there like a tree trunk waiting to be sacked? Why not have a quick screen ready to go? 6) The more things change, the more they stay the same. That's Chargers football.

Everyone has lost to the Chiefs like this so it's not a surprise. Palmer and Johnston need to play like this when McConkey is out there and just keep Stone Smart starting at tight end and more touches for Vidal at rb.
@michaelbell755 күн бұрын
Yea, because Ladd, Stone Smart and Vidal are the playmakers who are going to win playoff games lol. This offense is atrocious. The ONLY reason we have 8 wins is the cupcake schedule playing the worst teams in the league.

BUT… Once again, the only penalties that influenced the game were all against the Chargers. Ridiculous! The Chefs were holding all night, couldn’t stop the Charger pass rush and where were the flags. On the last drive on the 3rd and 10, Bosa was literally being strangled with an arm around his neck, in front of the ref, 3 feet from Patty M. How does that not get called? Oh yeah, the Chefs. GRo made GREAT adjustments at the half. He deserves credit. Herbert’s issues in first half were because of the Chefs defense, give them credit. I think they “found” themselves in the second half offensively and it could propel them to better games over these last four games. Herber outperformed Patty M by a small margin. I think the criticism about one missed throw by Herbo is uncalled for.

The way I see it, it's better we lost this game cause if we won then the AFC championship game may have been in Buffalo, so now KC has a chance to be #1 seed which could make the championship game in KC and I think it's much better for us to play in KC vs Buffalo.

Blaming Herbert is blasphemy. How many times did the defense have the opportunity to sack Mahomes when it mattered? What about the botched kick? What about leaving Kelce wide open on a 3rd and 7 when it mattered. Or the beautiful throw by Herbert that was negated by a penalty. I’m sorry all of the 3 and outs is pathetic. Greg Romas has to go!

Pipkins was the glaring hole on the line as usual. Chark caught a pass. Does he supplant Reagor on the depth chart. Henley won’t be the last guy to get faked out by Patrick. We need a RB that can catch out of the backfield. Kaleb Johnson or Kyle Monangue anybody?

When you keep winning games by one score or less, that's due to good coaching (Chiefs). Conversely when you keep losing games by one score or less, that's due to inadequate coaching (Chargers). We gave up the run too early in the game. The first half was a disaster. I predict that the Chargers may "POSSIBLY" win one more game (Raiders) and drop the rest! Ladd is a great player but he is too small in stature for the job he has been assigned. The Chargers are a traveling field hospital. Seems like Harbaugh wasted money on the strength coach who was supposed to keep the Chargers from being injured.

The fact that people in the comment section watched last night's game and came to the conclusion that Justin Herbert isn't clutch?? If you're saying that, you need to reevaluate the way you look at football. So, by this logic, Justin Herbert made the kick interference penalty. Justin Herbert multiplied himself times 11 and allowed the Chiefs to meticulously move down the field and give up a game winning field goal and didnt...just author a drive that gave his team the lead with under 5 minutes left...without his best WR. Justin Herbert isn't clutch? Do you see how crazy that logic is? Gtfo with that BS.

Also Daiyan Henley over running towards MaHolmes Henley has been playing great but its just so irritating when players do that instead of just getting the QB. Also Tuli if he only would’ve turned around and notice Kelce right behind him alone could’ve covered him or at least bblock the throwing lane for MaHolmes knowing 2 of his Teammates were already close to him so why bunch up like that instead of being more aware of your surroundings.

The new regime has to take some blame here too. This offensive roster is atrocious. Dobbins was never going to last a season, Edwards is garbage who cant get more than 2 yards a carry, blocking TEs who are useless in the passing game and they didnt address WR at all before the deadline. Stop taking leftover trash from the Ravens and other teams. Smart organizations move off those players for a good reason, dumb organizations pick those players up and start them. Do better.
