his album tells a story being in a relationship: falling in love (heartbreak weather) too fast (black and white and dear patience), falling out of love/ breaking up (bend the rules) and trying to cope (going out/night stand in small talk, nice to meet you), searching love somewhere else (put a little love of me and arms of a stranger) but everything still reminds you of that person (everywhere). then falling in love again or still needing love (cross your mind, new angel, no judgement) to wishing you were still with that person (san francisco) to admitting to yourself you’re not over them (still) -correct me if i’m wrong

this was released 13th march 2020, literally the day the world went into lockdown and its very very sad it didn't get the recognition cause of that. all his listening parties and promo and even his 'nice to meet ya' tour was cancelled unfortunately. he was deflated for a while, but then got back into writing, he's in the studio now making NH3. he said no dates yet, but we're hoping for lead single this year and album next year.

It breaks my heart, he was coming to my country and the tickets were unbelievely affordable for ME. It was kind of a miracle but then the pandemic happened. THAT WAS GOING TO BE MY FIRST CONCERT EVER 🙁

i agree so so much that there's no way the 2 albums can be compared. they're just for such different moods. Both are just masterpieces. Heartbreak weather is impossible to rank, the more you listen to it, the favorite changes everyday. literally. i knew you'd love still, its just so perfect, and where's its placed just makes it so much more impactful. its hurts everytime. but im so happy that niall is in a great place right now and has a beautiful gf since over a year now!

Amazing reaction! I once heard nice to meet ya on the radio and now I'm a horandog. Yea that's what niall wants his stans to be named after. One of my favourite albums of all time and it's so underrated. Just a fantastic journey of a relationship put into 12 songs. As for his next album, he did say its going to be his best and is almost finishing it which is superb! He also said that NH3 will solidify a new and more mature sound as well as his ballads. Really hope he puts a single out this year soon

Some favorite songs: "Small Talk" feels to me a lot like "Slow Hands" off Flicker and I love it, that type/style is one of my favorite things he does! "Cross Your Mind" lyrically reminds me of "Fool's Gold" by 1D (which to me always was a 'Niall song' anyway because stylistically it felt like him) and I enjoy how they correlate. Both Niall and 5SOS have songs with a similarly reminiscent tone called "San Francisco" - what is it about that city that breaks my boys' hearts? 🥺

the album is supposed to tell the story about a relationship from start to finish (also from multiple perspectives) which is why the tracklist is in the order that it is. Also, there were multiple easter eggs in the nice to meet ya music video (including song titles and even phone numbers you could call to get snippets of songs) still is my favorite but I think the lyrical quality of new angel and san Fransisco is top-notch
