To be honest I don't know. The ground has been disturbed several times from logging in this area and so much of the ground is all mixed up.

Sweet. The last point was a Cotaco creek, I think. Question? What type of chert is that cream color with the red called? I should know this but forgot. it is very common in Mississippi and in the deep South. I notice that most points from your neck of the woods are made from this material. That San Patrice was sweet. Great Work!
@HeartbreakerRelics2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info! the material is Mississippi Citronelle gravel chert.

Excellent finds. You hit a good spot. Enjoy your show. I don't know what BE is? It should be:::BC, before Christ. I have found a Potawatomy burial site in Illinois that I am researching near a river and finding thousands of sculptures from small jewelry to larger stones with dates Alquonquen writings on them. Some dates are from 1417 to 1800's with head images of male Indians heads dated when they were born and died. It is Good you put God into your Archeological pursuits as I have. God Bless and enjoy what few people can experience.

Thanks! BP is before present. It's just another way of saying "years ago" and people don't have to add 2000 years to everything that says B.C. Also, in the interest of time I just copy and paste from the internet during the editing process.

Your Delhi points are what we call Adena points
@HeartbreakerRelics3 жыл бұрын
We notice that a lot. The same point here is called something different in another region.
@pinebeltrelics80553 жыл бұрын
Actually Adena points typically have horizontal to upward sweeping shoulders. And although both points are basically from the same time period, the Delhi is classified in the Late Archaic barbed cluster. Delhi points have barbed shoulders and can be beveled or serrated.
