I think there was standing water at that turn and he didn't switch to rain tires, which caused him to crash, but also gave him that massive lead.

Loved that car. I wanted them to beat factory Porsches. It was nice to see them pulling away from the competition. I was not happy to see them crash out in a stupid way like Senna at monaco. There was no need for driving that fast.

What a race. Managed to watch about six hours and was lots of fun. But the mistakes by drivers really hurt some teams. Ferrari at the end was like “not again!”

I won’t even begin to tell you the stories, but this was almost just like at least five other disappointments in recent memory. @@giuseppemaggio5894 le mans is not F1, having the fastest car is an advantage, but in this case where the two were actually pretty close in the race the little advantage of the quicker car becames basically useless; as there are a lot of variables in this race: yellow flags, safety car, traffic, strategies about the tires, fuel, and stress on the mechanical components, and having the quickest car is just not enough to win the race... I'm pretty sure that if this car didn't crashed things could have actually turned out differently ;-]

@@domepugliese I am sorry but you're just disillusional if you think Porsche had any chances. Not only the Ferrari is clearly quicker (and that MATTERS) but it's also much more reliable: all 3 Porsche Hypercars had major issues while the 2 Ferrari hypercars only had smaller issues or badluck related issues (like the rock puncturing the radiator on the number 50). The Ferrari is 360 degrees superior right now so the Porsche had no chance whatsoever of staying ahead. You just need to face reality. Porsche is also behind Cadillac in the standings

@Giuseppe Maggiò i'm not talking about the official team Porsche Penske as they sadly were a disappointment, I'm talking about Jota, thay didn't have any issues at all apart from those two crashes and was unexpectedly fast, so yeah if they didn't crash the classification would have probably turned out differently... I still think ferrari would have won, but hey Le Mans is Le Mans so no one really knows, and yeah, they definitely were fast enough to contend the win, no objection on that

The chinese did a mistake. He went very aggressive on driving this type of racecar. Endurance cars like this need to be driven carefully. You cannot overtake easily like you are driving a formula car because lmp cars are made to endure long hours of driving and it needs a lot of patience when you want to overtake. He went to cocky on his turn. The mistake deserved

You made a factual mistake that Yifei was not overtaking anybody at the moment but leading the crowd with an interval of 10s. Also, being aggressive is nothing to be blamed for a racing driver and almost all attempts of overtaking are bold and aggressive, so you clearly don't understand F1 or LeMans because a failed formula one overtake could cost the entire race but anything could happen in 24 hours. Honestly, when all four Porsches went down you should also start to consider the problems of the car yet you only blaming the guy at wheel for being "too cocky". It makes me even wonder which LeMans race you were/will be in at age 22 to sound like a know-it-all
