It's at least partially because DK is much cheaper to build than other classes, you just need to have bought the mini set and craft a couple of the newer cards and you have all the cards the class needs.

@@mistared4021 True pretty much why shadow priest was and is still very popular, the investment is not much compared to the rest of the meta (it's like 1 class legendary or less and a few epics if we exclude core cards)

The fact that DKs have both Obliterate and Asphyxiate as less than three mana removal spells is kinda dumb. And three damage as a downside for a two mana removal means absolutely nothing

@@schippes24 Does it really matter when Obliterate can kill anything for a class where 3 hp is nothing? Compare that to Warlock's Unstable Shadow Blast which caps out at 6 damage and deals excess to your face, or for 1 less mana Spirit Bomb for 4 to both. Keep in mind Warlock doesn't even have the absurd healing power Death Knight has. Death Knight has 2 Shadow Word Deaths with no restrictions and only a scratch for a cost at most (even to a 32/30 minion), AND a tiny Discover pool with a ton of discover effects that ensures they will always have one at any moment and several throughout the game no matter what.

@@DeadlockDragothink the only real issue you pointed out is their discover pool, asphy and obliterate are fine, but just getting so many of them/whatever else they need at any given time is frustrating

@@DeadlockDrago Aye. In particular, Schoolteacher basically does read "4/4, battlecry, teach the exact spell you need to a 1/1 Nagaling who can ignore Untargetable effects." That needs to fucking stop. For now at least. With a deeper discover pool it's nowhere near as obnoxious, but being able to get Obliterate on demand is absolutely on crack.

The second game demonstrated to me very clearly why DK is so strong. Just such an uncompetitive average card quality. Patchwork is 7 bloody mana. Insane.

I wish I was better at deck building so I could actually enjoy heroic brawliseum. As it stands, I am terrible at it as I primarily go for what is fun rather than what is good. That means that I just end up losing gold not getting any good rewards.
