It was true. one other option was the 4 mana deal 1 damage freeze spell for 3 minions, forgot what the other one was. All were targetables. I drafted it with a friend and said "this is gonna end up pyroblasting my face". That might have encouraged my decision somewhat, but the cards were all horrible regardless, and there were 6 minions on board, and it hit my face. Fun fact: I did win the game.

idk how living mana works when you only have 2 unused mana crystals. but i do know for a fact that if you only have 5 empty spaces on the board, it will only destroy 5 mana crystals and summon 5 mana treants. so you don't lose mana by not having board space. like if you use living mana with only 1 free board space, you only lose 1 mana crystal. it costs 5 mana to cast still, but i mean it "expends" 5 mana and "destroys" 1 actual mana crystal. if you have no board spaces open, i believe it expends 5 mana but doesn't destroy any mana crystals.

For anyone wondering, living mana will only take as much mana as tokens spawned, and will take empty crystals first.

I've been using Tortollan in quite a few classes as a Tech card. Really good in Priest if you get Free from Amber or Mind Control. And in Rogue for a Sap for tempo, Sprint for card draw or even Vanish if your really behind on board and then you get to use it again.

Adventure Themes Sap for Tempo? So you basically play a 6 Mana 5/4, is that good Tempo? Even Kidnapper is better.

Its because it has the versatility. If your opponent has one minion on board, Sap is a great choice to get, and even though Assassinate is usually better, Sap won't trigger Deathrattle.

Kipp I need some help with my arena - I've played for almost three years now and had hundreds of arena runs, only to literally have my highest streak reach 3 wins ( two of which the opponent disconnected on me. Im so tired of spending my coins I earn from quests and only quests on arena and getting screwed. Should I give up on arena or keep trying and hope one day I get an actual deck that can make it past 3 wins without 2 being opponent afk wins?

i also do not spend any money or hearthstone and only do arena with coins from arena, its very easily doable, so if you find it fun continue if not quit, i also do not believe you get decks with like a rating of 50 every game from the last 3 years

Im honestly happy with the game rn. I know the meta is a little lame with decks like hemmet mage and quest rogue. But, the deck quality has taken a dip, and that means more viability for weaker cards that have some really fun effects. My arena games have been phenomenal as of late thanks to these cards getting to shine. Any thoughts?

Kripp, I think that Living Mana only takes away as many crystals as it makes. So it can always only take up to 7 mana.

Another place it can be OK is Barnabus Druid. It counts towards your quest, enables Elder Longneck, and casting it for free is pretty nice (especially if you find some card draw with it).

I just saw how Living Mana works in the Tavern Brawl. If you have more Mana Crystals than space on the board, the Crystals that didn't fit aren't destroyed. If you have an empty board and use Living Mana, it will only use, at maximum, 7 Crystals.

Having run this card a couple of times in arena, I can confirm that, contrary to popular belief, it's pretty great in Priest. In general, your targeted spells are easy to manipulate in your favour, and any that aren't targeted are just solid power level. The new eight mana priest spell and Mind Control on their own make this guy amazing just for potential. I actually think it's bordering on playable in constructed for Priest, from my experience.

I coulda told you how good this card was as soon as the xpac came out ^^ I ranked it quite low on my personal tier list, but figured I'd try it out in Druid and Shaman arenas the first day, and it was insanely good. I had the most success with it in Rogue deck that went 12-2, had 2 of these suckers and they just hardcarried. Rogue spells are really good when you're behind on tempo, so playing this into a full board made some insane comebacks happen, most notably one where it vanished lethal off the board, then 2 turns later I discovered Sprint off it and I won the game with that. Sometimes it just carries the game on its own. I could easily attribute an average of 3-4 wins simply to this card per arena run (both Druid and Shaman runs went 9-3), and those are some great stats for a card people thought was absolutely terrible.

Tortollan Primalist saved my opponent last night in arena when they discovered Cabalist's Tome, which put a Pyroblast in their hand. The discover mechanic gives you a significant amount of control over what you end up casting, which mitigates the randomness of the targeting a LOT. The stats on this thing make it a risk, but it's far from a junk card.

Alright, time to put it to some math. How likely is to hit a spell that's just always good for you? Lets do the math for Druid. There's 32 druid spells in standard. Of those I would clasiffy them in 3 groups: - *Strong and mostly safe* spells almost always do something that benefits you and is kind of worth 3 mana or more, such as or . Personally, I count 10 of this (It's kind of in the air. is a 50/50 do nothing/draw three while wild growth is an extra card. Is an extra card enough? I'm gonna say no) -*Strong but Dangerous* spells work... but only if you roll correctly. Buffs might be cast on your opponent's minions and removal on yours. You gotta be careful if you are choosing this spells. On the Druid, I count 7 of this. I included and here. -*Weak and safe* or *Weak and Dangerous*: This ones probably have a chance to be just what you needed, however, most of the time this ain't worth paying 8 mana, much less if they roll bad. and such are here. Their best case scenario is stuff like or after turn 10, where they just draw you a card. There's 15 of this. So the odds of rolling the good ones is: - All three options 2.4% (don't count on this) - Two exactly 19.95% (we are getting there) - One exactly 46.5% (now that's something) That's a 69.9% chance the tortollan is almost automatically worth it. Hmmm... Maybe we can do better with another class? I won't do that math right now, but you would need more than 10/32 spells. Can the Tortollan roll the quest? If not (which i suspect) then the math is slightly better. And what happens in the other 31.1%? What's the odds you get stuck with spells of the third kind? Well, only 9.1% of the time you cast a TP will you be stuck with weak spells. And even then, one of them is gotta be better than the others. So what do you guys think? What's the best class for the TP?

I love this card in arena. People keep playing it while they have tempo and instantly lose the game because of it. My favourite was when my opponent misread the card text and ended up dinosizing my 1-1 taunt minion while they were 1 turn away from lethal.

I consistently play this card in my mage deck and so far I've had it polymorph a barnabus the stomper, blizzard, arcane intellect, and Flamestrike. I still have not had one bad choice so far.

Druid actually has quite a few good spells over 66% I think more if the choose 1 mechanic chooses randomly so your very unlikely to discover all bad spells.

wat. i love this card! develop a decent minion and cast most of the time a very usefull spell like card draw or AoE and eats your turn like 2 other cards would in the same situation. this just combines the cost of 2 cards into one. ... at least for mage, because they don't have enough bad spell to have a bad outcome.
