I am not sure that combo renolock archetype has enough threats and burst to beat cthun warrior which is popular on ladder... (unless they draw really poor). Frozens version seems to be better at it and has more early game to contest vs aggro as well.

taking alex out is counterproductive to the leeroy combo strategy. In some games you really need to alex them first if u dont have full combo parts. Plus 24 damage isnt exactly OTK.
