They didn't forget that. They just thought it isn't consistent enough because 1. Aggressive decks often tend to use their hero power less than control decks like control warrior because they rely heavily on Tempo 2. Because you need luck to roll into spellpower totem and not get one of the other 3 possible options 3. Because even if you roll the spell power totem, it's just a 0/2 which can get killed off pretty easily

Minecrafttroller420 666 Aggro decks use their hero power a lot, they usually run out of cards, and they have extra mana to hero power with. Also getting the spell power totem is better than a 1/4, it's at worst 1/4 and if you already have a totem, which is likely because totems are less relevant in aggro shaman, then it's a 1/3, 1/2, or a 100% chance.

Done Sly Nonsense. When the aggro guy starts using hero power a lot is because he is already dead. What this guys really forgot is how good 1 point of damage can be in early turns and more important, how easy is to get advantage of a 1 mana weapon in midrange, where you can always get synergies with big spells, kobolds and azur drakes (I said that the use in midrange is more important because no one could have anticipated the pirate aggro shaman by then).

One streamer you will NEVER see in these sorts of videos is Firebat. These guys just go off of intuition and their gut feeling, Firebat is one of the most intelligent card reviewers I've seen. Not only is he better at predicting cards, he actually puts in the effort to crunch the numbers on if the card would be good or not. For instance, for Ironforge Portal (for all the portals actually) he went through every four-drop in the game to figure out the average 4 drop size he could get, taking into account deathrattles and all that. Part of the reason these guys suck is they don't do that, especially Chakki and his gang of mindless loons

Trump was right about ironforge portal though, it saw some small amount of play but only due to the standard card pool being so light on healing. It's so wildly inconsistent that it's just not worth a card slot is the main issue, if it were consistently like a 4/4 or something then it would see heavy play but when you're randomly getting like 3/2s, 2/6s and things that can't even attack or interact with the board in any way it's like throwing a 5-drop in the trash which is a good way to lose. Should've been like a 3-cost spell that summons a 2-drop and gives 3 armor, or just the current spell for 1 less. You can get away with unreliable lower curved cards.

They were kind of right about Ironforge Portal (it did see SOME play, however), and I don't know what the deal is with Cloaked Huntress apparently being good? Because it wasn't. Not that the card wasn't solid on its own, but Hunter just wasn't a thing in the post Karazhan meta. Yogg and Load was where it saw play, and that was always a gimmick deck. Tier 3 at the absolute best, but I'd consider it Tier 4 at best. Maybe not even there.

How could anyone get malestrom portal wrong!? In its base format it’s a significantly better fan of knives and don’t forget shaman has easy access to spell damage (that’s what made spirit claws so good) so most of the time it’s 2 mama for 2 damage! (Which is INSANE considering the mana cost relative to the damage for most other class AOE. Eg. Swipe, fan of knives, hellfire, flamestrike/ blizzard, consecration, holy fire, even just a much better arcane explosion and so many more. It’s also got the added benefit of summoning board presence, consecrate (its most comparable comparison) can’t do that. So many other comparisons.

Kinda a shame seeing how a lot of these cards that turned out to be good in karazhan meta are just too slow in mean streets meta. I actually liked most of the karazhan cards, they gave birth to a legitimate discard lock, beast Druid, and secret hunter.

I mean. They weren't really wrong about a lot of those cards. Iron Forge portal pretty much almost only saw play in Yogg control warrior, it was too weak to see a ton of play outside of that. Spirit Claws and Maelstorm portal also didn't see a ton of play until after the nerfs that slowed down the meta letting mid range shaman dominate. Also, I agree, ivory knight is terrible. I don't know why you would EVER play it. The cloaked huntress and cat trick they were wrong about, but only because cat trick was really hard to judge, it looked fairly weak and the meta didn't seem to favor it, turns out it was really strong, and that is partially what made cloaked huntress so strong. The one that got me, was arcane giant in the pretty bad spot.

Cloaked huntress was never bad lol. 3/4 stat for 3 is already playable. Put in free secrets and you get one of the best hunter cards? You have to play one secret and it puts you so much ahead in tempo that it may be almost impossible for your opponent to come back.
