Nah Pirate Warrior will be falling off soon. When all the aggro hate cards were revealed a lot of the control players assumed that Pirate Warriors would be insane to keep playing the deck, so they didn't even tech in tar creeper or the crawler. But they underestimated that many people only play Pirate Warrior because they don't want to pay for expansions and need a cheap deck, so they were going to play it regardless. When people wise up and start teching in the pirate hate, it'll die a quick and messy death. There's just no getting around it. Crawler and 3-mana senjin are too good.

i went on a 15 game in streak with pirates and got rank 6, so yeah pirates are totally still rediculous. I like tech cards against decks but people are too worried about trying to win vi quests that against aggro it just doesnt matter.

+Fancy Even with taunts Pirate Warrior doesn't give a living fuck. It often can and does find a way to remove taunts while simultaneously hitting face. I mean Handlock is great against them, but that's one deck out of several, and if they get one bad draw they just outright lose. If you don't believe me, watch one of Firebat's videos where he fills his paladin deck with taunts and removal, and Pirate Warrior still rolls him.

the power of weapons. Thats what takes pirates above and beyond. Weapons are just taunt/minion removal so they can go face, i hate playing aggro to grind ranked but i got nothing in terms of midrange now. lol

It's funny that a deck that relys on 1 drops is still too slow. Plus forces you to use a vast majority of late game useless cards just for the chance of filling your deck with slightly better ones. If all the carnassas brood were 4/3 raptors that drew you card the deck still wouldn't be good enough. I feel like the Hemet version where you jungle hunter once you've completed the quest then fill the space with the raptors might be better, since any of the 1 drops left at that point will be useless and you'd rather have a high drop or a raptor.

It's not slow at all, it's just inconsistent. Hunter lacks card draw, and the deck isn't diluted enough with just 15 out of 30-35 cards being the Raptors. This quest in Zoolock would be beyond broken.

That's how I run my hunter quest deck, it works well. As hemet will clear the trash, your decks card quality goes way up. Even if you don't draw hemet, you have so much card draw now that a dead card isn't really an issue. Also, infest is much better than stampede, as I was finding myself with 4+ minions on board really consistently, and as 1 drops make up a lot of your deck, you have mana lying around to spend on it.

I just honestly feel the quest reward itself is counter productive to the way you complete it. The quest overall is way too slow. Earliest I've seen it completed was turn 5 so Carnassa was played turn 6. That is way too slow. An agressive deck should be closing the game out by turn 6 not just starting to get going. If the Hunter quest had the caverns below reward it would make sense. Since you have to play loads of weak minions so having a reward of making those minions strong makes sense. Currently it is by far the worst quest.

Every other quest reward has some instant impact except for the Druid quest. But the Druid quest has that deck synergy since you have to play a bunch of high cost minions to activate it then makes those minions cost 0 later. The Hunter quest does nothing.

I don't remember saying either of those things you just mentioned. But the quest isn't bad, it's just in the wrong class. As someone else said, if this was the warlock quest it'd be great. If hunter had Caverns Below as the reward for completing their quest then this whole 1 drop focused deck would be great.

The problem with the hunter quest is that it's balanced. It is a nice reward and helps you keep pressure in a fair way. The problem is, is that a lot of other decks seem to just kill faster so this will never be played. It's sad :/

I've been running Dread Corsair and Eagle Horn Bow with a Patches thrown it. With the discount it counts as a 1 drop. I have 2 Southsea Deckhands for more pirate and weapon synergy as well. Been having pretty good success with this twist. Also Tundra Rhino is really good in this deck. In the later parts of the match is a really good win condition if you're not as ahead if you would like. On turn 10 you can play with the Marsh Queen for 10 burst damage, or you can just keep playing you're raptors and going face for 3 over and over again. And having more things with charge is good for the Cult Master. Turn 5 you can Cult Master and Southsea Deckhand + Patches for 2 card draw if you're desperate and your board is empty.

according to trump, thundra is a bad card because it requires another card to be good and its a 2/5 so its unplayabe for him. I mean, thundra rhino is basically the only card that would make this quest hunter somewhat work and its still not good, but it could work. But no, thundra is a 2/5 for 5 so its unplyable. Trump 2017 And btw: Rogue Quest is bad and is almost impossible to complete. Trump 2017 again.

Have you considered Tundra Rhino? Give Carnassa's Brood charge, combined with Cult Master results in draw 2 per brood if you use it to trade up.

I built this quest specifically around abusing the beast mechanic, Dinomancy, and Stampede and the only time I've ever had an empty hand was from my own misplay. This quest actually has the potential to be a powerful Beast themed control hunter and I've been doing incredibly well with it. You should give that a try instead of throwing in so many 1 drops with no synergy to the deck. Also, I would drop the Savannah because as good as it is, you don't want to draw it, you want to get it from Stampede or Jeweled Macaw which I've managed to do almost every game. Tundra Rhino is actually good because dropping him onto the board with 5 Raptors means a lot of instant kill power. Dinomancy is good because it let's you turn 1 drops into stronger minions that require your enemy to drop good spells on them instead of saving them for bigger minions. So far the only deck I've had consistent problems with this build is Priests that are heavy on stealing my cards like Skill Command and the Raptors. I haven't encountered Murloc shaman yet, but if you play control against Warrior, Mage and Priest quest decks you almost always win, unless they get away with Mage-zodia. You win 2/3rd of games against Rogue and Druid. Also, I have only lost 1 game to Pirate warrior out of 6.

I think the the best way to make this deck work is to include less one drops and make it more controlly. There is not much point in getting the reward early if it means relying on top decks and having a deck where there is not much of a chance of spamming 3/2 raptors. It would be much better if you completed the quest later, when your deck is smaller, meaning you can just spam the carnassa's brood. Does anyone agree?

like have enough one drops to be able to complete the quest without drawing your whole deck, but in general more control cards. Probably stuff like houndmaster, call of the wild, what you used to see in the old call of the wild hunter. You need general value cards to get later in the game. you could add deathrattles and put in the huhuran and 3 mana huhuran. trump doesnt have animal companion or hunters mark.

Stampede is smart in this deck, what isn't smart is the complete lack of proper beast synergy and infest. Infest was considered a bad card because of how difficult it was to create and keep a large board long enough to play it. Not in this deck, in this deck it'd be amazing. Also, all I keep hearing is how amazing and OP the hunter quest deck is, and I just keep seeing it lose... Think about it. like 20 1Drops. Empty your ass onto the board, Infest, Empty your ass onto the board again, stampede, empty your ass on the board again, Quest, 4th flood. Hell why not throw a rat pack in there for good measure? Considering how crazy your board gets, the +2/+2 hunter hero power could also be good.

I was playing Handlock vs Quest Hunter yesterday. He finished the quest and started playing those low cost minion waves and I had both Hellfire and both 6/6 deal 3 damage to all characters. His waves had no chance. I feel bad for him xD

Meh, just run 8-10 one drops, 2-4 of which give you other one drops, and 2 Ranger of Eos. Your curve will be lower overall but you still have plenty of room for Scar and stuff.

some things i've noticed about building this type of deck -it sucks when it comes to removal -igneous elemental sucks if you draw it after carnassa -infest sounds like a "win more" card but it's still great for value if you can play it on at least 2 or 3 minions, also it's easy to have a buncha cheap minions -sometimes it's much better to play your higher cast cards and save your 1 drops for later turns; they have that flexibility -tundra rhino is fantabulous as a tech card -adding beasts to your hand is great due to the amount of 1 cost beasts there are -camel and webspinner are good cards in wild(probably wanna substitute parrot with webspinner if you do camel)

I think the quest has a potential deck somewhere in the mid-range. rushing the quest always left me with too few cards in hand to have effective answers. Things I've tested that worked out this set: Grievous bite (name? the deal 2 to minion and 1 to adjacents) is excelent against pirate and otherwise can really help your 1-drops trade. ultimately the quest requires good board control bc hunter playing from behind is still difficult at best. The raptor that shuffles a 4/3 for one doesnt work in all decks, but if you're playing fewer one drops it can get some crazy value with tolvir warden. a 7 cost play for a 3/5 and two 4/3s is almost worth midrange playing only it for its 1-drops. I think the best I got this combo to happen was 1 jeweled macaw and 2 of the raptor with 2 tolvir wardens. Infest is probably better for this video's 14 1-drop quest completion than stampede. it costs more and that sucks, but it goes off for each alleycat etc. If not over stampede it may be considered over cult master too, though instead of draw its rng, you're more likely to get each deathrattle than each draw from cult master.

Tracking is great because it let's you dig for Warden, kill command and the better one drops in the early game while thinning your deck so you have less shitty 1-drops left after completing the quest.

Michael Lamar I know it's pretty late...but being in the same shoes as you I decided to go for midrange hunter since it was cheap and rather efficient in beating players who suffer from a bad hand or slow draws. I did however, make the budget version of it first. Other cheapish decks you could look forward to are jade elemental shaman,budget silence priest...and a few others which hearthstone channels can enlighten you about.

It's been only a few days so it's hard to know what the meta decks become, but it's already looking much more promising with a great variety of decks, Un'Goro AND pre-Un'Goro decks. Goes to show much of a bust MSG was. Instead of 9 individual classes with multiple possible deck builds, there was only Jade, Pirate, Reno just a few days ago.

23:47 I disagree about Raptor Hatchling. From what I've seen, you typically complete the quest about turn 7-8, which means you've drawn about 10 cards and have about 20 "normal" cards left in your deck when you play Carnassa. Of these, Tolvir Warden and Savannah Highmane are definitely better draws than the patriarch; Genzo, Cult Master, Igneous Elemental, Jeweled Macaw, and Stampede are arguably better as well. Carnassa's Brood is also much better. That means that of the ~35 cards in your deck at this point, at least 20 (well over half your deck) are better draws than the patriarch. Not to mention that you don't want to draw them off Tolvir Warden, since you want to maximise your chances of drawing Carnassa's Brood. The only time you want the patriarch is before you complete the quest, and the chances you draw both the hatchling AND the patriarch by that point are very small (I'd estimate about 1 in 30, or 3.3%). Even if you get it off Tolvir Warden, that means there's one more "bad" one-drop left in your deck when you complete the quest. TLDR: When your gameplan revolves around shuffling lots of good cards into your deck, you don't want to be shuffling mediocre cards in as well, and the numbers prove this.
