Having someone try and call you out on a "misplay" even though you give solid reasoning because you understand the deck you are playing against, it would get you worked up as well.

Alright, so let's follow the keyboard warriors line of play. He swings into the Golem with Bonfire, killing it, and leaving him with a 5/2, 5/5 and 5/8. His opponent summons Drake, killing off the 5/2, and leaving him with a 5/3 and 5/6. He summons Phoenix targeting drake, pings it, hits Drake with Cenarius, pushes 5 damage and summons a 1/2 alongside his onboard 3/3, 5/3 and 5/2. We're now at effectively the same outcome as Kiblers line, but Cenarius has 1 fewer health. His opponent summons the 2nd Drake, now killing his Cenarius, and spellstone'ing the 5/1. Kibler is left with a 3/1. Kibler still has answers in hand to the Drake, but now he's down 1 resource from his original line. He summons Blazecaller and trades in his 3/1 to kill Drake. He's now missing 5 damage that he pushed in his original line. Since the 5/1 doesn't exist (Destroyed by Spellstone), his opponent doesn't have to swing into it now; that's 10 total damage missed and an established creature. Does Kibler probably win that game anyway? Almost definitely, but that's not really the point. How does Kibler get punished for his line of play? What combination of cards could the Druid cast to make not swinging into Golem the incorrect choice? He's setup to kill any x/8 (Lich King and Drake) and the opponent turning on the golem doesn't present any good trades. Kibler has complete board control, so establishing multiple minions isn't going to help. There was nothing his opponent could have reasonably done to punish. So Kibler's line basically equated to 1 additional health on Cenarius. A single stat-point that ended up snowballing into ~7 mana worth of tempo. I understand wanting to discuss other lines of play, and weighing their pro's an cons, but maybe think more than 1 turn ahead before calling a pro out on stream.

kibler is not above mistakes. no one is. he generally owns up to them but there a few where hes been wrong and doesnt accept it. for ex. he played tesspionage vs priest and needed to clear the enemy lich king to live. he defended the fact that he went for prep sprint to find a possible espionage’d psychic scream/SW:D out instead of playing tess that had a 50/50 hit on SW:D that was previously played. entire chat called him out and he still said he was right. ive seen him not use his candleshot to pop a 1/2’s divine shield. he got called out, he said he was right, until the 1/2 traded w his minion and he admitted being wrong. happens to the best of us especially considering the volume of HS games he plays hes still an amazing player

I feel like Kibler has been more riled up in his videos as of late...and I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND. I feel like many Twitch chats are becoming super Toxic. Becoming a "look at me and read my comment so I can feel kinda famous" or "here's why I'm better then you" type place. In most streams, I just keep chat closed for that particular reasoning. Kibler spanked the opponent. Does it matter if YOU think he missed a trade? No. It does not. Geez. Unless you have made a living off of card games, I don't think you have the right to correct something you think is wrong. Huff. Okay, rant over. Had to get that off my chest. Thank you to ALL the people that do make chats fun and interactive though! You guys rock! I wanted to at least get that out into the World to keep up the positive vibes!
@lgmhorus6 жыл бұрын
Not only that, but Kibler is very clear when he does mess up, which of course he does. He never tries to cover up, he just goes "ooops, should have done that, and stuff". When he goes a different way, like this case, he explains his decisions step by step. Specially when it's something that looks weird for some reason, like this does. But not only he made a correct analysis, predicting his opponent's next steps, but he won the game quite easily.
@WMDistraction6 жыл бұрын
I think it's fine to offer what you think was a better play (top tier pros make mistakes all the time), but when Kibler offers a solid explanation (which should have made sense immediately once he explained himself) and then clarifies his reasoning to you later, it's rude to keep pressing. Kibler has had plays suggested to him in the past from chat that he legitimately recognized as better than what he was considering. If he doesn't recognize your play as at least a viable alternative, it's probably wrong.

Or maybe you have a good memory and the streamer brain farts and forgets that card X isn't in the deck anymore or something like that. The real problem is when Kibler very clearly explains his reasoning behind his play, the play works exactly as intended, and the guy still argued that Kibler was wrong even though everything went according to keikaku. But I see streamer brain farts/accurate chat corrections a couple times a day from various streamers. We even see people making play errors at world championship events. These guys ARE still human.

If I'm reading the situation right, and hindsight IS 20/20 after all, Kibler NOT smacking the *Golem* with his *Bonfire Ele* essentially saved 1 health for his *Cenarius*, which meant the opponent was forced to use his second *Spellstone* to destroy it; from there, I'm guessing they didn't have a *Swipe* or *Naturalize* to deal with the *Blazecaller* or *Arugal* in one turn, so they settled for face-checking the *Astromancer.* In all fairness, I think the opponent got somewhat unlucky with their draws, while Kibler had all the answers right when he needed them; it's possible the chat fool was in the opposite situation, with a bad hand versus the opponents' lucky draws, and judged Kiblerino's moves from that perspective. Regardless, even if *Blazecaller* didn't get copied for (almost) certain victory, his foresight definitely helped put him in a better long-term position.

Sorry Kibler, you're wrong on your reasoning Bonfire attacked once, not "multiple times" like you said. If you had traded before, then he'd play Drake into the Astromancer board, you'd play Fire Plume + Ping + Cenarius to kill it, and smorc with Astromancer. The REAL difference between trading before and after is leaving Cenarius with 5 or 4 health. So yes, your play was the most optimal, but not because Bonfire attacked multiple times, but because Cenarius would be left off with more health.

While the person in chat was completely wrong about the play Kibler made being a "losing play", I don't actually blame him for missing the benefits of Kibler's decision not to attack into the golem since it was actually a very min-max move. Regardless of whether or not he attacked into the golem the Bonfire Elemental would still have died to the Primordial Drake but by not attacking in and instead waiting a turn to trade since the Ironwood Golem could not attack he was able to make trades that allowed his Cenarius to have 1 more health while having his Astromancer still be alive to continue attacking into face in the following turns this later forced his opponent into using his spellstone to deal 1 damage to the Cenarius. Making your opponent not only overkill but use valuable removal on a generated minion against a threat heavy deck like this one is a HUGE advantage and definitely not a losing play.

He took advantage of the ironwood golem's weakness of requiring armor to act. Also he displayed knowledge of the meta by predicting the opponents moveset. Rank 25 chat at it again. Most misplays that Kibler does are either pure misclicks or due to time running out, making him sometimes miss out on things or do slightly inefficient trades. I very rarely see any other misplays. I see plays that were wrong guesses, but in order to win, only reacting will make it difficult. So he guesses things based off of experience and knowledge. Sometimes he's wrong, because it is a guess. Pointing out that a play could've been different based on knowledge you have of the future is pretty irrelevant to the moment. At best you can learn from it. People are often way too focused on being right, it's annoying, even though I'm a bit of a hypocrite, since I do that as well sometimes. I don't think it's healthy, so we should all just learn how to yield at times. I did use the correct word (yield) right? I suddenly became a bit unsure. Basically, we should learn how to give up at times.
@SinceroOdio6 жыл бұрын
exactly this! i've been watching kibler's HS videos since day 1 and i can only remember 3 real misplays he did up to this date (plz dont make me try to remember the exact plays). ppl who call wrong reads with information they acquired after the play happened misplays are just being captain hindsight. this is especially true if someone / kibler is in a bad spot and his best bet to win the game is an "overly optimistic" play like the opponent not having flamestrike in hand after drawing 17 cards and you have to flood the board before he gets it because you are left with no / little value to close out the game. more often than enough it is the correct play to go for a high risk / best case scenario when you are really far behind or have little to no value left and ppl still call it a misplay if you dont encounter the best case scenario that you basically needed to win. decision making is based on the current state of the board / information you have not on the information you acquired 3 turns after that mr chat.
@CottidaeSEA6 жыл бұрын
SinceroOdio, exactly. Sometimes you're simply forced into doing bad plays as well, simply because it's your only way out of the situation. Sure, throwing out 5 minions with 4 or less health against a mage is usually a really poor play, but assuming the mage doesn't have Flamestrike to clear or Blizzard to slow down your attack, it might be the best available play. If you know you'll lose if you don't do it, then it's better to just take the risk. Losing in that scenario is not a misplay.

Smh, Kibler with all the misplays. Didn't even lethal with Meteorologist. JK that play around Primordial Drake was pretty major. Shame they dropped that 2nd one though.

That trade only ended up leaving cenarius with 1 more health (as it traded with the golem instead of with the primordial drake). Both Kibler, who said it allow him an extra attack (???), and the keyboard asshole where wrong

i know kibler said in a previous video that he prefers to tell those idiots/trolls his reasoning to educate them but at this point you really shouldn't waste your time with them. there's always going to be another one that does the same thing and it just ruins your mood or at least it seems like it does.

I think you should have played the flame elemental turn 6 so that you summon an 8 drop from astromancer instead of the 9 drop.

9 drops are statistically better than 8 drops now though.

People watching Kibler and calling out misplays is totally a normal occurrence, but not only does Kibler explains his reasoning in a methodical way, he also hopes that people can learn that they can have their input in such a way that you don't have to be a dick about it. If you're watching Kibler's stream just to point out his mistakes and be insistent on them even after Kibler has very nicely responded to you, then sorry to say, you're in the wrong kind of stream. Everyone makes mistakes, but if you want to help, just don't be a huge pain and be indignant about it.
