vol I also find the cards art to be unapealing. I think it is basically a lot of parts of it mashed together. The Hair, the pose, the outfit, the background color (being pinks, and then the orcs skin is green, and usually pink and green is either put on a purposefully funny card, or some sort of mystical card/) and yet the card is supposed to be a badass pit fighter orc.

The comparison with Frost Giant is wrong, because the Giant doesn't say "Whenever you use your hero power, reduce its cost by (1)", it says " This card costs (1) less for each time you used your hero power this game" Knight of the Wild says: "Whenever you play a beast, reduce its cost by (1)", if you play a beast without it in your hand, it is in your deck, but cards can't trigger their effects while they're on the deck, so it doesn't trigger. I can't think of many examples of cards that does effects while they're on the hand

I think you're missing the big thing about Chillmaw; if you throw it down, it has the same effect of Voidcaller, in that people will assume you're holding the requirement. If you throw down voidcaller, people think you've got a demon. If you put this guy down, they assume you've got a dragon, so if they plan on killing it, they won't drop 3 health minion sometimes and other times they'll trade way more into it than they needed to. They could also just stalemate and not kill it for a turn.

I wanted something I could rely on. Something which would give Priests an identity rather than "beat the other class with their own cards". Something that was tactics, strategy, skill and deckbuilding-focused rather than this. A Tirion Fordring or Archmage Antonidas for Priests. What did we get? "At 9 mana, flip a coin. If it's tails, you can concede now. If it's heads, you'll win unless your opponent can clear the board next turn". "If we add enough situational cards, priest will become consistent eventually, right? Right...?"

piggecasimir Blizzard cant even give priest a good 2 drop after 4 expansions! It’s pretty clear that the designers have no clue what to do with priest. All cards go in different directions and only flash heal might be good.At least they could've give new archetypes to priest like they did with other classes. Freeze priest is a pretty cool deck, but it lacks support. This expansion was perfect for that deck to become viable, but yeah blizzard clearly fucks priest again and again,

So, for everyone about to comment, first look at this: 1.) Knight of the Wild does not get reduced cost when it's not in your hand, so it works like Bolvar. Blizzard just didn't put "While in your hand" on the card. 2.) The Bear Trap pun is that it's not trapping a bear, the bear IS the trap. Seriously, there are 20 different comments on both of these. At least try to see if someone in the comments already asked it.

7:00 There's actually some consideration to silencing your own Bolf... a 3/9 is quite good and the silence takes the "minion combat" weakness away. It's less damage than boulderfist ogre, but if the ogre were to overkill anyways, then the extra health is nice. 16:20 WHAT?! If it sticks around for just a few turns, you can get crazy amounts of spell damage! Put it in a spell heavy mage deck, like flamewaker for example, and you'll be able to board control with your spells alone and just keep building up the spell damage. Turn 4 this guy, turn 5 hero ability + frostbolt for 5 damage (could often kill whatever the opponent played), turn 6 hero ability + fireball (9 damage) and just keep rolling on from there. 23:00 Uhh... what beasts does the druid actually want to summon, though? Aren't most of the druid beasts all... well "transform" cards? You play your druid of the claw and... nope, no discount. Same with the snake guy and druid of the flame. Malorne is a beast, but isn't played that much (and costs way too much to be useful for the discount). Basically, you have to rely on power of the wild and neutral beasts for the discounts, which is just not good enough. Seems like an ok card but just doesn't fit in *druid* beast decks, since they don't "summon" their best beasts. 35:00 If you think of Seal of Champions as a "3 mana 3+X damage removal", then it's not bad at all. If you play it on a 3 attack minion, then the Seal is like a 3 mana fireball, which is insane... especially since the +3 attack even stays. The downside is: A. you have to have a minion and B. It uses your minion's attack. It looks like it will be a great card in a minion-based control deck. If you think you can keep minions on the board and plan on keeping the opponent's board clear, then this card will be pretty great. Obviously, it's no good in aggro (where Trump was looking at using it)

I think you under sell Shadowfiend, it's strength won't be "It saved you x mana", just like Thaurisan's strength in patron isn't just getting you mana saved, it's in combo enabling. There are at least 3 different stupid burst / 1-2TKO priest decks, with the 1 mana flash heals priest is getting there's going to be more / the ones that exist might be more viable, I'd imagine Shadowfiend might find a place as a combo enabler in those. I'm also never sure if you're joking around when you say Soot Spewer, since you usually seem to correct yourself if you mis-speak on stream. You know it's pronounced "sut" not "suit", right?

But that's not a common scenario. It's an average card at worst, and a good card at best. Just never great. Has it's place in some weird OTK gimmicky priest decks.

Ogoun No argument there, it's certainly nowhere near as strong as Thaurisan, but huge card draw turns with cleric are a staple of priest, so you can play the odds and have a decent chance of getting a combo discount, plus having it + cleric on the board makes it pretty vital the opponent removes them, potentially drawing out less than ideal removal. Either way, not really saying it's going to be strong - just that Trump seems to be evaluating it on the wrong criteria - it won't be a "play on board and you'll get an x mana discount if it lives", it's "play before / during a large draw turn and try to enable combo" card. If it's good at that is the question / criteria I think it should be evaluated on, not a 1-2 mana 3/3 like Trump suggested.

You cant have a card that unless it is a best case scenario is only mediocre in constructed (not necessarily shadowfiend), and Nagassh that is the reason why he evaluates it on pure mana efficiency. He did the same thing for Thaurisan if I remember correctly. ***** Definitly a possibility, I expect to see at least some experimentation with this card, and I hope it becomes the next Thaurisan, because I would love to see Priest become a strong class again

Ogoun I don't see why a card can't be evaluated on it's best case scenario when that's exactly how a lot of cards are played, you can't evaluate a card on nonsense scenarios where you just play it on the board on turn 3 and pray - it's the same reason Trump has under-valued cards in the past. Unstable Pyro has been a staple of priest decks for a long time. I wonder if it were in this set, Trump would slate it as a mediocre 2 mana drop / 3 mana deal 1 AOE to everything. It'd ignore it's place as a card draw engine later in the game as part of some "best case scenario" 3+ card combo, but that's the place it had in older priest decks. Patron is a pretty bad on curve drop too in most cases, it requires a "best case scenario" to do the magic, but the entire patron deck is set up to create that one best case scenario turn. Sometimes best case scenarios are fine, because your deck is built around making that scenario a thing.

I'm not sure how much value this holds, but one use of Sparring Partner I think is interesting is if the opponent is hiding a valuable minion behind a taunt like Sludge Belcher you can use Sparring Partner to bring it to the front so you can attack and kill it.

I'm liking Sparing Partner also because you can draw a creature the opponent has out to be hit if it's already being protected by a taunt creature. Since you can hit any taunt creature you want. Some nice added utility to use a taunt aggressively.

I quite like the secret because for example, in arena you often expect GET DOWN! or avenge to be played, so the opponent might actually refrain from attacking to avoid it, then surprise your minions get +1/1 and you trade the minions that foolishly went for face.

no streamers ive watched have mentioned the synergy with sparring partner and weapons against mech decks with annoy o tron. a mech mage opening with coin annoy o tron into snow chugger can be dealt with by playing win axe turn 2 and then sparring partner on the snow chugger to be able to kill it.

Hey Trump, I believe the "Knight of the Wild" says whenever you summon a beast-- Ergo it doesn't say whenever you summon a beast while this is in your hand. I believe the mechanics of that card discount it even though it is not in your hand. Similar to the discounted mana cost that dragon consort gives.

A random thought: Pit Fighter might be a good "newbie deck" card. Since it can take out five health minions, and it's a common card, it should be good for players who are just starting out the game and don't have some of the more expensive cards yet.

What so many seem to be missing with Bolf Ramshield is that unless your opponent does 9 perfectly the overkill should still go to Bolf (unless it has been stated otherwise). So in essence if you get hit with three 4 attack minions Bolf will take the 12 dmg giving you more than just the 9 of his health.

I think you all are forgetting that Chillmaw has synergy with Dragon Consort whereas Sylvanas does not and it actively aims to play around Patrons. Its also another Dragon with taunt. It's really good for Dragon Pally decks

Buccaneer's tempo burst on turn 1 is insane. Turn 1: Buccaneer Enemy Turn 1: Pass (Cannot Coin into 3/2 or play 1/2), 1 2/3, or Coin + 2 2/3 Turn 2: Dagger + Kill Enemy Minion almost for free! The sheer pressure this applies to 2 3/2's is insane! It's better than Backstab in this situation; it's a tempo investment into a possible double Backstab for 1 mana!

Robert Mends Technically there is no powercreep yet. The only cards that have been power creeped are basic cards. Which are supposed to be weaker according to Blizzard's ways so far. Technically the Biggest power creep we have is Dr. Boom whose power difference to War Golem is bigger than the power difference of Ice Rager - Magma Rager or the new booty bay bodyguard card. Still there is no card in the game that is strictly better than another card that isnt basic.

KAL - EL Dr. Balanced technically isn't power creep because there are situations (very few situations) where War Golem is a better card. Against a Hunter, you might want to have less minions on the board. Against Patron, you might not want to be pinging their stuff with Boom Bots. I'm not saying you should run War Golem, but Dr. Boom isn't "actually" a 9/9 for 7.These 2 new cards are the first examples of power creep in the game - they're statistically superior to their Basic counterparts. However, their basic counterparts are all bad cards. 5/2 for 3 is actually what you'd expect from a 3 mana creature. Yeti's a strong 4-drop. Sure, Shredder's mostly replaced it, but Shredder can be silenced, and it sometimes drops a Doomsayer or other negative card. Basic cards aren't "supposed" to be worse, but Blizzard realized that a couple of Basic cards were God-awful and decided to replace them with usable cards. Power creep doesn't matter if the cards being replaced are already unusable.

I think arcane blast is kinda alright. It basically serves the purpose that frost bolt often gets used for and frees up frost bolt for the face or another minion. Its also 1 mana so its potentially deal 2+ damage to an enemy minion and draw a fireball for 1 mana. Or its deal 2+ damage and shoot 2 arcane missle shots via spell synergy. I think is above average.

I think Inspire is really being undervalued. Imagine: if you have a deck with a lot of Inspire cards, then they're going to stick - not every minion dies the turn after it comes out. Thus, the situation where you have 2+ Inspire minions out is actually not going to be all that rare. Also, every inspire card is very powerful if you can hit it twice - even the Lowly Squire would be a Zombie Chow without the downside. On the announcement day, one of the players got his Saraad to stick for 3+ turns, and it was a massive upswing. What I'm saying is, though you can't count on a minion sticking around long enough for you to hit the button twice, it will happen sometimes, and that just might be good enough to make some of these cards really good.

I have a question about the synergy between Chromagus and Shadowfiend: Does the reduction affect the cart you draw, and then it's get copied with the discount? Or only the card without the discount? Or does it depend on the order of arrival ? Btw I actually think Trump underestimated Shadowfiend, I really like the design, and I think giving priest more options also makes it less predictable, and more flexible to the meta.

The big problem with the Inspire mechanic, it seems, is that it depends on minions staying alive. Which just doesn't happen in Hearthstone. In Hearthstone you trade at all times, the minions will not stay up.

The 7 cost 6,6 Knight of the wild card. I'm pretty sure that it's effect will work even while it's in your deck because unlike Bolvar it does NOT say "while this card is in your hand" In which case this card gets infinitely better.
