That was a pretty good ending to this series. Showing that even beginner level decks can fight against decks in the top of the meta if you play well.

Love your videos Trump, and it is certainly nice to see a Hand-Lock lose to a basic deck, but I can't help but feel this match will be all but inscrutable to a Hearthstone beginner. I think you noticed that too, which is why it is so weird that you chose this match, for this particular lesson video. I think most will be left bewildered and at best, build your recommended deck with little understanding of it.
@SteelVoltagerpg10 жыл бұрын
Studied all these videos and some of your others. Went in the arena feeling confident, built a nice deck, thought I had good plays. Went 2-3 in the arena. Highest score ever was 4 wins in the arena. Man, Hearthstone is tough.
@christophervinci683510 жыл бұрын
My best runs in arena were 7-3 and 5-3 as rogue and 6-3 as hunter. Rogue is a very consistent class in arena IMO and mage is also very good. The 3 games i mentioned before were the only times I have very done so well, otherwise I average 2-4 wins lately 3-4. Hearthstone is tough and after playing it since it was released to everyone I still am not the best xD. Practise makes perfect.
@averykriegel151810 жыл бұрын
I really recommend that you just continue to practice and you'll get better. I was absolutely THRILLED when I finally got 5 wins in arena months ago, but now that I'm used to arena and I've not only figured the intricacies of the game, but what classes/decks fit my playstyle, I almost always get at least 6 wins. Good luck and have fun! :)

I went 10-3 in arena once and I was a worse player that i currently am. I never did better and i went like 1-3 the after the run, arena is like 70% or 80% based on luck

Ironfists MC yet somehow there are people with average 8 wins per arena who get relatively often 12 wins. Your argument is invalid.

Honestly though I've been trying really hard to learn the game and make great picks in arena. Still struggling. Last time I went 3-3 and then 1-3. I can't seem to ever get even to 4 wins again. I did that one time.

It has been an excellent series. Gave a lot of insight on all the hero powers, as well as giving good examples of decks with strong synergy. I feel more confident building a deck after understanding the way the hero powers give board control and card advantage, and also find that it is easier to build a deck with consistent goals built around the strengths and weakness of the hero power. Perhaps a series on the different mechanics, such as deathrattle, enrage, windfury, etc, and how they interact with hero powers? My heartfelt thank you Trump!

@LThalle10 жыл бұрын
Bucket Knight Paladin is a good counter because they have answers, such as Aldor Peacekeeper and Equality+Consecrate or trading little guys that make them able to easily kill off or neutralize the big dudes that handlock plays. Plus, there's only so many siphon souls you can run in a deck, and most heavy control paladins run more large targets than Handlock can reliably handle. The paladin basic set, however, doesn't really have any of these strengths, which makes it extremely impressive to beat such a monstrous deck has handlock with just basics. But it goes to show: not even the strongest can handle the March of the Guys.

Hey Trump, I figured I'd drop this off. As of late, I've been having problems winning, so I looked up your videos, hoping to find ones like this. Now, I know constructed and arena are entirely different play styles, but I implemented the lessons in these videos while playing an arena paladin, and for 3 turns against a priest, I had a consistent one health while he had a remaining 23. I managed to come back from behind and win, using what the videos are teaching, so...thank you for making these awesome tutorials and they really do work if you use them right.

GodUd6589 to be fair Trump got pretty lucky. handlock generally runs 2-6 heal cards, 2 silences and 4 taunt givers which is important in this matchup. the handlock player drew almost none of those cards(presumebly) and he got topdecked.give them maybe 10 matches and then the handlock player will probably get most of them if he is just a little good

Maybe you could talk about what makes cards "good" or worth putting into decks, and what makes card "bad". I notice you use a lot of the same basic cards in all of these tutorials, but outside of just the basic set, you could ellaborate on some really cost efficient, powerful, or otherwise just general "good" and "bad traps" to watch out for when deck constructing.

And that's the evidence, that you don't need high profile cards (rare, epic, legendaries) to succeed in this game. Good game sense and the right decision making are all that you need to win most of your games ... all the rare cards can be considered the icing on the cake.
@MikeDindu8 жыл бұрын
That's right. A lot of the basic cards are used in even really advanced decks, because well, they're just good cards. Ooze, consecration, flamestrike, mortal coil, all great cards that will never stop being used.
@ToxicallyMasculinelol8 жыл бұрын
yeah you just need a perfect consecrate draw on the turn where you have no other lethal, no minions, and no way to mitigate the lethal he has on you. lol it was literally checkmate and then trump drew consecrate
@dingo15208 жыл бұрын
And what do you want to say with that? In case you haven't noticed that's part of the game. You won't be able to win all the games in Hearthstone, and then again you might win due to top-decking or favorable RNG. Yeah, he drew Consecration just at the right moment. But, as I said before, that's part of Hearthstone's mechanics - or any other TCG's mechanics for that matter. Hence, the same rules apply to the opponent as well. It doesn't disqualify the validity of his deck.

A very good video, but I don't think it really showed the point you were trying to make. It really is a good video though since it shows that even a F2P deck can beat a meta deck, but the concept you were trying to teach in this episode was "Long Game Control." You were matched up against a Handlock who's best counter is often Rushing them down as you did. IMO, Make another episode with the right focus, but keep this one as a useful showing that a F2P can beat Meta (Consider even dubbing over this one with a new commentary making *that* the focus) Anyways! Thanks again for supporting the little people, keep up the Good work, and GL in arena! (On of the off chance you read this, Keep in mind that the Meta for the arena changed recently with GvG since they didn't add any "basic" cards. There are genuinely fewer "High Cost" commons which were staples in most arena decks you used to run. Consider changing your mindset to draft bigger cards when you see them and adjust your play to counter the Arena "Zoo" of low drop commons)

It's crazy how the meta has changed so much, today it's all about tempo and these high value plays wouldn't pay off
@albertm71788 жыл бұрын
I wouldnt necesarily think so. Sure, the meta is faster. Secret Paladin (bleh), Midrange Druid and Zoolock are fast decks, but trading for value is still important. But the meta also has a solution for more faster decks, like Reno Jackson. Trading is still important, it is just that most widely used decks are faster when the slower decks (Like renolock and control priest) are slowly fading into obscurity.

Hey thank you! But I am a little confused... Did the standard decks changed since 2014? I have all different cards in my standard Paladin deck. Can you explain?

You forgot most important step, after winning you have to WELL MET! :D

Normally I'd write something like "Oh man, what tremendous luck!" but let's not forget that it's still a card game which is essentially always bound to luck. So I guess the only thing there is to mention would be: Aw shite, you go girl.

Last turn it would have been better to play the silverhand champion bringing him down to 1 health, as you would have had a guarunteed kill next turn with hammer?
