It's a positive impact for both players which makes it low impact on the player's side. The impact you gain from destroying a minion is basically negated by giving the opponent card advantage.

That last game sums up Hearthstone arena perfectly: the worst player Trump met on the run is the only one that could beat him due to drafting luckily, getting good rng within the game, and playing like shit. I personally enjoyed playing Hearthstone when the winner was determined by skill.
