I've ran my own versions of tempo mage since the beginning.i recommend for anyone playing this deck to drop at least one acolyte if not both, and definitely water elemental. I think its ridiculous trump doesn't have an arcane explosion in this deck. works great for me and i don't have bloodmage thalnos, which just makes it even better. anto fits great in this deck as well imo. for those missing cards sub with polymorph. Note; i also run 1x cabalist's tome which is > acolyte imo

+foxclown This version of the deck is more like a Face Mage. However, go for a slower approach and Antonidas fits in perfectly. If Antonidas gives you a single Fireball, that's enough value. Antonidas is a big threat which NEEDS to be removed, so getting 1 Fireball on top of forcing your opponent to have an answer to a 7 hp minion is more than enough from a legendary minion. If you had the opportunity to save 2 cheap spells to play w/ Antonidas or you have a Sorcerer's Apprentice on the board, Antonidas is nuts. However, this version of the deck resembles an aggro deck much more than it resembles a midrange deck, so Antonidas is what Dr. Boom was to Face Hunter or Face Shaman in the past.

Though to be fair, Trump didn't need Yogg in any of these (now I'm curious what the percentage is you do need Yogg). It's just one card, it could always be at the bottom anyway. So you probably could try it without Yogg instead of just jumping ship right away. Either put in something to help make sure you finish before you would've needed it, or put in another fast big card. Pyroblast?

Think it'd be easy to swap out a Fireball for Antonidas, if you really want to run him. In most scenarios, I don't think there are that many times where not having a second Fireball in your deck will lose you a game, plus Antonidas gives you free Fireballs anyways so...yeah.

x2 Fireball is way to important to not run. Even if you feel you don't need the extra burn, having only one reduces your changes of drawing a fireball in half. If you want to run antonidas just cut yogg.

Loot Hoarder usually, same as in Miracle Rogue. Though it also depends. If you find yourself in more situations where you needed the spell damage, then switch it out for Kobold. But generally the card draw aspect is better than the spell damage.

If you are looking to substitute the card, that's the wrong way to think about it. You are not looking for a similar effect, you are looking for the next best card for this deck. I would personally recommend Ethereal Conjurer/Faceless Summoner/Archmage Antonidas/Cabalist's Tome/Flamestrike as a replacement for Bloodmage. Any of those cards would be much better than a Loot Hoarder in this deck.

Basicly any combination of Flamestrikes, Ethereal Conjurers, Cabalist's Tomes or Faceless Summoners will work with this deck. If you're crazy enough you can tech in something like an Elise as an alternate win con or a Doomsayer to fix the Shaman matchup a bit.

Cabalist tome is like the opposite of tempo. It is good in a value/fatigue mage that intends to take the game well into turn 10+, which this deck is not trying to do.

You can easily make this deck a little heavier with Cabalist, Etheral, Faceless, Antonidas etc. and still keep the early tempo. You still keep the tempo archetype but you just put a little weight in the back end. But if you add cabalist it's best to make the deck all around a little more midrange/value-y, otherwise cabalist is just deadweight. As far as winrates go, Hotforms decklist is probably the best version of the deck out there but damn is cabalist fun.

Antonidas is bad because taking up a full turn in tempo mage can and will cost you the game in this meta. Control decks remove it too easily and fast decks will almost always have lethal by that point if they have a bit of damage on the board. Midrange decks just suck in general right now and you just roll them without him anyways.

Arena is the best way to advance you collection if you can average around 3-4 wins so I would advice you to watch some videos on arena and learn what's good. Adventures great when you want to start climbing ladder as they have a lot of essential cards to most decks.

Branone Interestingly enough, at high legend it's about 35% one of the control archetypes of warrior, and a fairly large percentage of rougues built to counter those warriors. You see basically zero zoo and more midrange shaman than aggro. I do agree with you that aggro decks are easy to play but if you learn how to play control decks well you beat them consistently. Trump (who, in my opinion, is easily best at zoo over any other deck, won about 40% of his games with zoo at legend a few days ago (I beat him on stream with c'thun warrior).

Kindergarten Dropout m8 I played for hours with Yogg simulator before it came out and have great experiense playing it in decks, He is best card in game I'm telling ya. But this streamers man... they can't get the simple fact: acerage yogg with 10 spells is - hard boardclear, draw 8 cards, deal 10 damage to your or enemy hero, spawn 2 minions, heal random target for 3. Which means if you play it with less then 8 cards in deck left - u ded, play it on empty board - missoportunity, play it when both heroes on full HP - waste. And most casual mistake - overcommit. You don't need all spells in the world for Yogg, If you have 8+ spells in deck Yogg is your lategame tech card that will improve your deck and allow you to run 0 draw mechanisms, cose at very best you play Yogg last in hand and draw full new hand! :D

+DeadKavaiol I really like the similarity between 2 cards released in this expansion. There are 2 cards which have very similar art: Yogg-Saron, Hope's End and DOOM!. Those 2 cards basicly do the same thing, except Yogg also has a chance to fail but also a chance to win the game on the spot. My Yogg sweet spot is 8-12 spells, which, I'm average gives the best outcome for me when I tested it. It's definetly a great card.

Antonidas, Pyroblast or better [forbidden flame *nope, it does not hit face idiot*]. Generally finishers, but Yogg has the added advantage that he can be a boardclear too. With the others however you avoid being at Yoggs mercy.

Serves as another cheap activator of Arcane Blast whilst cycling itself. It's a generally perfect card. The deck doesn't rely on it, however. I imagine Cabalist's Tomb could be good, unless you want to run a Kobold/Loot Hoarder for whatever reason.

I'd say Bloodmage Thalnos is far from needed for the deck to work. He simply fits the theme of the deck very well: cheap card, it cycles a card and it has spell damage. If you don't have Bloodmage, here are a few replacements: Flamestrike, Archmage Antonidas, Faceless Summoner, Cabalist's Time, Ethereal Conjurer.

+Hass Far I recommend you get to save up gold for the first wing of League of Explorers. You should get the torch as a reward for entering the first wing. If you want to play this deck in particular, the lack of Flamewaker is a really big hit to how the deck operates, however, you can replace them with either Flamestrikes or Faceless Summoners (or Antonidas if you have that). The Arcane Blasts cannot go however, you'll have to craft those too. Until you have those, you can simply add C'Thun to the deck and/or Acidic Swamp Oozes. You can also add cards such as Arcane Explosion and Kobold Geomancer, but that's the worst option in my opinion. You can try to complete the deck with these substitute ideas.

Why no Ice lance with all the freezes

It's too situational. And detracts from the rest of the deck. If you really wanted to though you could probably replace the arcane blasts with ice lances

All the freeze effects in this deck do at least 3 damage and few minions have the toughness to survive 3 damage plus pretty much any other burn spell,, so if we're focussing on using spells to remove minions, most any burn spell will do the job of ice lance while still being more versatile by not needing an enabler. Ice lance works in freeze mage because it can dish out a lot of damage quickly due to its low cost assuming you have another freeze effect, making it a potential win condition. Tempo mage controls the board with spells, only occasionally throwing them at the face when a kill opportunity arrises.

The gold you need to buy the adventure wings necessary to make the deck. IIRC, you can't craft adventure cards, so your dust doesn't help.

Correct. You can't craft cards from adventures until after you've earned the cards by playing the adventure.
