Apparently, I've been circle casting since I was 10... When I was little and afraid of the dark by sister taught me the method to snap my fingers and a fortress would pop up, so I visualized it happening and I visualized a sweeping of everything in my room out the door and into a bag. & I really believed it worked!! So funny to think that this stupid thing I did as a kid has like,, a real method.

I used to do something similar! I would imagine my bed was inside a protective shield dome and sometimes even added superheroes and other characters standing guard for good measure.

oh i also did something similar! I share a room with my sister, and in the past if one of us had a nightmare we would crawil jnto the others bed to sleep, and whenever my sister was scared I would visualize a white glow (how i visualize nmy bubble) around my bed to protect us both.

As a child, growing up Catholic on Guam where the spirits were everywhere and witch doctors are normal. I'd pray and imagine a white glow that created a bubble around my home to keep darkness away and protect my family each night. As an adult I've learned I am an Empath and understand that my natural instincts were to shield myself and those I loved, even before I understood why I needed it. I enjoy your videos. :) You're very knowledgeable and it's nice to hear information from someone who isn't pushing any one way on you.

In my thirties and just starting to explore the craft and what it's truly about vs stories...what's funny (and startled me) is that when I was in high school and college I couldn't get to sleep without anxiety without imagining a bright blue "soap bubble" of light expanding out from my chest to circle me, pushing out anything that might wish me ill. Then I'd be nervous about the house, so I'd expand the bubble to include my house and family....then later on I started "bubbling" any of my friend's houses that popped into my mind before I went to sleep. I don't know when I stopped exactly, but it was funny to be reading a book and have it say "this is how you shield.."

small tip: it can be a good idea to cleanse your area before casting a circle! otherwise you can accidentally trap something in with you, lol. i've had it happen: forgot to cleanse my space before casting a circle, there was a very annoyed and confused spirit trapped inside the bubble with me throughout the whole tarot reading lmaoooo

Okay, so I was watching this and just realized I've been casting a circle my whole life, way before I was ever introduced to the witchcraft "world". Whenever I felt negative energy (spirit related or not) around me, I always had the instinct to first "push that energy away" and then build a bubble aroun me. That bubble has always looked translucent orange with some "sparkles" all over it, and I remember, even as a kid, to instantly feel better, protected.

I consider myself very new and I've been kind of fumbling my way through my practice. Your "beginner-witch" videos (such as this one, or grounding and centering, visualization) are very very helpful! as I have two little ones under 5 and a well-meaning hubby I often have interruptions which isn't always ideal but I tend to work into the circle the requirement for those individuals to be welcome in the space if they walk into the room and when I raise and expand the energy I visually push that sphere of light out to where my family members are in the house so I don't have to re-do a circle. Perhaps some may say this is ill-advised but so far it has worked really well for me. 😊 Xx

what actually brought me to this video was the fact that I have had this issue for a while and it has kept me from furthering my practice for lack of enough salt, eggshells, space, ect to cast the ceremonial/ more tangible circle. Which lead me to kind of "freestyle" and imaging an orb of my own personal energy emanating from my solar plexus and pulsating outwards. It's nice to find out I was doing it right this whole time lmao well, the second technique you spoke of, anyway. my visualization has been good enough for me to do all of this in my mind. Im relieved to know I had been doing this correctly off of instinct, as my practice has lead me to be more of a minimalist, in all aspects. Ive only had the problem of forgetting tools or needing to leave the circle when actually casting a tangible circle, which I actually did this past 12-12-12 full moon, outside in the snow lol I used my footprints, walking clockwise, to lay it. the workings done within have been showing signs of success, so I would say it was rather effective, though I prefer energetic circle casting more. besides all that, this video was awesome and super informative! you're an awesome teacher and I love your channel! thanks for sharing, as always :)

The part you said about not having to be restrained by your space really helped me! As silly as this is, I’m definitely the type of person to think “wait, am I allowed to cast the circle through a wall…?” XD I also used to make the radius of my circle equal to my height for fear that my head would be poking out the top of the sphere! Thank goodness you’re here to clear up my extremely specific concerns, I’ve really learned to be more at ease during my spell work. Thanks for all the great resources, I don’t know where I’d be without them.

The first and best circle I ever cast was sitting on my couch with my cats on either side of me. I was able to pull from their positive energy as well as from the earth. I pushed it out with my mind and pulled it in the same way. It was also easy to cast a circle in the woods but I struggle in my backyard because there is so much noise from traffic, people, dogs barking, etc.

When I first started casting circles I just intuitively made it so that the circle moved with me. I was kind of like the yolk that's held in the center of an egg. It never even occurred to me that the circle should be stationary.

You know, as a child, my mother and I would do a "white light meditation" to keep away negative energy during the day. I now see a lot of similarities from that to the idea of casting a circle. I really am going to have to do that again as it has been way too long since I have done anything like it. Thanks. Love the videos.

Oh lord I used to think my circles are so simple in comparison to others HAHA! I do it a lot like your second technique. I use palo santos and swirl it above my head 3 times clockwise because 3 is a very special sacred number for me. I visualize the bubble forming from that point and surrounding me and that’s it. XD When I close I swirl the palo santos 3 times counter clockwise and visualize the energy being drawn back up and popping like a bubble.
