I was on the USS Ashland. Ghost Ship was out on the way over or the way back? But “Not Falling” is all I listened to… and C.C.R. I did learn what depression was. Nothing like smoking a cigarette and, manning a .50 Cal and driving through the desert, up for 72 hrs straight. Good times 😏

You should read the study that showed people that have more extreme tastes in music tend to have more (I hate this term) emotional intelligence. Digressing, I think that term just sounds narcissitic and fake. All it really means is someone who has developed the human condition and realizes other humans probably feel something similar. Emotional intellipushover. 3rd/4th wave feminist buzzword to manipulate people into always having empathy and being pushovers. And usually the ones who claim to have it are the most narcissitic main character syndrome people who want to come off as altruistic when it's either to manipulate or pander

3 combat tours in Iraq. Mudvayne helped me get thru a lot of metal issues. Especially since my wife (back home) wasn’t giving me the support I needed. Started playing bass at 60 during Covid. My daughter introduced me to Ryan Martinie playing Dig, (partially for shock factor). I was hooked. Last year went to Mudvayne, Coal Chamber. The tour was called the Psychotherapy Sessions. Chad stopped the show and talked about his darkness and how therapy saved him. He said, The world is a better place with you in it. Ironically, I'm a LPC psychotherapist

The saddest and most burdensome part of this kind of relationship is the other is never happy, and after you’ve depleted your energy, your will to continue, and stripped yourself of everything that makes you “you”, the relationship ends and you’re left with a festering shell of what you used to be, stinking of self hate and anger. It’s not an easy place to be. This kind of music helps you find a little bit of relief knowing you are not just some detritus without value.

I was looking for someone to mention "Scream With Me"! That one's hit very heavy and personal to me through several times in life! Though another one that's been really hitting home for me lately, for several reasons, is "Scarlet Letters". Though I know that's not one of their more popular ones, it's just been resonating with me through recent losses, relationship problems, depression, and other shit I don't feel like pulling back up to mind at the moment. Anyways, yeah! That'd be one I'd love to see, her reviewing Scream With Me!

her input at the end was so spot on. 17 years married felt like I was giving and and giving when I finally stopped the demands and all the traits of my wife showed through. till this year when she moved out and feels like a divorce is coming. I've been healing more and more feeling pretty good therapist telling me I'm doing all the positive things they want me to and set goals. no longer do I feel like i'm in a pit trying to climb out of. things will come in waves and I have the tools to make sure I no longer get knocked down.

"Happy" is on my break-up playlist. Really covers how I've felt since, especially after finding out how much better her life has been since, despite how much she hurt me and how much it still hurts 2 years later.
@HeartSupport
@HeartSupport 5 ай бұрын
From ThriceTheThird: @GarrestheWarrior Hello! I think it is natural to be hurting even a few years after going through the loss of a significant other. Even if its through a break-up and not death. It is a similar process, and feeling that we can experience/grieve. I think the best thing we can do in these situations is try to not focus on the individual who is gone, and what they are currently up to in life. More so, focus on ourselves and our self-love/self-care. I think the best thing we can do in these situations is to try to channel the emotions from it, into self growth and becoming something better then we were the day before, even if just gradually/little by little over time. Focusing on how we can make our lives better, instead of how much better the person who hurt us' life is. I think could make a huge difference in how we feel. Regardless I hope you find what you need and can feel a bit better with time. Thank you for sharing with us what you are going through, and feel free to share more if you ever want/need. I have found that talking about what I am going through with peers in a safe environment as helped me a lot in feeling better with the emotions I am dealing with, and I hope the same for others.<3

Their 'Dig' is a must. If you want more songs with lyrics w/deep meanings, yes, there's many, I hope you try a couple from Mad Season (Layne Staley: vocals): River of Deceit __ Wake Up. So long as you react to "other than metal" stuff that is. This, their only, album was recorded near the end of '94 and Layne was not in good shape. But he poured a lot into those songs.

That you had to give up and authenticity in order to be accepted, loved and seen in this world. But the version of you that others see is not your true self, is not who you feel you are deep inside... So you see and feel this huge distance between what others see of you and the way you actually feel every day. You wish to start showing who you really are, but then others are used to see you differently, so there is a risk to feel even more abandoned and alone. Change feels scary and intimidating when you feel stuck under a mask that isn't yours yet allows you to function and navigate in this world. There is no doubt that it hurts to be in this position, and that somehow being aware of it adds even more pain to your heart. As human beings, there is nothing more beautiful and comforting but to feel really SEEN for who we are, without needing to hide anything. It offers this validation that you are enough as you are, that you belong and that there is nothing to be ashamed of when it's about the person you are. At the opposite, having to wear a mask gives this subtle narrative that you have to hide parts of you, that you would have to be ashamed of being you. It makes me thing of these games for children - where you would try to place a cube shape into a circle, realizing that it doesn't work even if you use all of your strength. It's disheartening, but you keep on trying because using the right shape *feels* wrong and unknown. There is something truly intimidating about learning to show our authentic selves to the world, especially when we've been so used to please others and be what they want us to be. For what it's worth, as someone struggling with social and performance anxiety, what you describe has always been a part of my life, and learning to expose more of my own vulnerability is a slow, learning process. It's hard when there's constant doubts in your mind that pressure you to be more focused on how other might perceive you and what they need of you, rather than what truly resonates with your heart. Sending much hugs and strength your way as you navigate this. On a positive note: you are aware of this pattern. You are not simply living it, you also have perspective over it, and that alone is a real strength to cultivate and nurture. It is thanks to this awareness that you might encourage yourself to increment small changes into your life that would allow you to get closer to the person you want to be when you are interacting with others. Being a certain way, wearing a mask, might have been a way to protect yourself and respond to needs you had previously. Now you are aware of how it works and how much you'd like to free yourself from it. There is HOPE with this awareness, my friend. Hope for change to be possible, for embracing new pathways and learning new ways to be in relation with others. I wholeheartedly believe in you. :heart:

Metal gives one two beautiful experiences....to plug in, to the rhythm with your own vibes & let go........& the lyrics are able to trigger emotions and present you the writers mind set & state in prosa or raw pictures. Music is a train that can pick you up anywhere, it can take you anywhere & even if you ride it, you're never in charge, but the journey is worth letting go

I've never even considered that other way of looking at this song. Thank you for that! Chad Grey is an incredible vocalist with such powerful lyrics. I have to recommend Mudvayne's song "World So Cold" or Chad's other band Hellyeah who has a song called "Love Falls". I would absolutely love to hear your take on the lyrics to either of those. Thank you again!

I see what she is saying, we as people have the choice to give are selves to others, so if we don't like the outcome, then just leave. But what if a person is scared to leave or they really don'twant too because they really love the other person and they are just hopping and praying that one day this person will change and you can become yourself again.

You hit on the ideas floating in my head. Of course I have heard Mudvayne before, and this song....but I took more time to listen this time. People can't take from you. They might take your stuff. They might take your job. But they can't take from you, unless you let them. Bring that locus of control to the inside.

This is genuinely turning into one of my favourite channels due to the content and your reactions. I’d like to recommend “Poet and the Pendulum” live at Wembley by Nightwish. It is not the normal song people start with when it comes to Nightwish, however it is the song that suits this channel the most as it deals with depression and struggle. It was written by Nightwish’s song writer the keyboardist Tuomas during the hardest time in the bands history and he basically ended his life in the song to stop himself doing it in real life, however the new song finishes positively with a new beginning. It is one of the best written pieces of music you will come across and is broken into Acts. I won’t say more about it. Nightwish hold the record for most reacted song in KZbin history with “Ghost Love Score” (normally what people start their Nightwish journey with. However, as previously mentioned, “Poet” suits this channel perfectly, especially if the research is done on the songs meaning beforehand.

I love your breakdown of the lyrics. Just over a week ago, my wife of almost 10 years asked for a divorce because in her words, she wanted to have fun and she's seen how her depression brought her down, she didn't want mine to bring her down. I supported her for almost years though numerous phases of depression, anxiety, suicide attempts... Yet when I finally realized I was suffering from depression myself, there was nothing there for me. It was soul crushing. The years I tried to give everything I could then to get no help when I needed it most.

From toastaintbad: @chadfricke-fp8ii Hi @HeartSupport_Fans, Thanks, for expressing your concerns! Mental health issues can be exhausting for someone to live through each day. It's good for you to communicate with your wife about the issues that you guys have going through many years. @PlatformReply I agree that it's important to take care of yourself before others. Did you explain your wife about suffering depression too? Depression is hard for others to battle because I used to have it too. I have numerous of mental health issues and keep telling myself to remain positive. Just think of your mental health issues like a wall blocking you to pass through. No one likes to be block by something to go through. Do I expect you to be happy 24/7? No!!! You are going to have good and bad days. I recommend to be really brutal honest on how you feel with her mental health issues. You can't always depend on your loved one to help with your depression and anxiety. I don't want anybody closed to me be more stressful with my mental health issues. People have a outside life and need to take care of themselves. It's okay to vent others but you need to remember on how your words and actions affect someone's mental health. Don't let mental health issues impact her and your marriage. I personally don't know if she is seeing a therapist for mental health issues. If your wife did divorce you, she can't be in another relationship if she doesn't improve her mental health. I hope you & your wife able to fight through this difficult challenge.

@@HeartSupport I reread my original comment and it's almost unreadable. She suffered depression all throughout our marriage and I always supported her. After all those years, I finally needed support from her and there was none. She left to start fucking my best friend instead the same day she asked for the divorce. Needless to say, there's no marriage to save, just lives to salvage and rebuild. On the rebuilding, it's rough. Some days are harder than others. The meds help, won't lie. Progress is being made though. Lives are being rebuilt. I won't let this break me.

From Micro: @chadfricke-fp8ii Wow, friend, my heart goes out to you. It is so hard to be in this position of pouring your heart out and giving everything you have to the very person you love, then being told that as they are doing better and *you* need them now, they choose to move into a different direction than yours. It feels like somehow you don't have the right to go yourself through a rough time. That you would be at fault for having similar needs she had previously. It's heartbreaking to feel like the care and love for someone isn't reciprocated. It is especially during those challenging times that we hope to rely on the people closest to us. The ones we've learn to trust with ourselves. Losing them during such a crucial time feels like hitting the nail on the coffin. It is completely understandable to have expected that, during your own dark times, your wife would have been by your side like you were for her. Just because that's how marriage should be - partnering through the good *and* the bad seasons of life together, not side by side. I'm sorry this has been your experience, friend. It's absolutely heart-shattering to be abandoned that way. I hope you can keep in mind that your struggles are not a fault, and that her decisions are only hers. It certainly doesn't erase the pain and heartbreak... but through all of this you are absolutely worth being supported, cared for, and loved. May the meds keep helping, and may you seek all the support you need. We're in this with you. :heart:

Not just reacting to the music but breaking down what is really being stated. 👍🏼 You should really consider doing a few songs from the band HURT. I've always thought that Chad was singing this to himself. When you live with the kind of trauma that Chad does, you never look outside for all the pain in your life. You always assume the failure of relationships and your world is all inside. So you rip those scars open evaluating all that pain trying to figure out what mistake you made that brought it all on yourself. So you always walk around like a raw nerve, from evaluating and over evaluating every interaction you ever have...because the one constant in all of our painful interactions and failed relationships is us. So it must be our fault right? Trauma sucks dude.

Just found this channel through this Mudvayne reaction. Awesome BTW. Went back and practically binge-watched all your Slipknot reaction videos, along with a few others, on my overnight work shift. Definitely got a new subscriber here. If I may make a request for the song Walk With Me In Hell by Lamb of God I've noticed you occasionally do a tiny bit of research before your video like Daddy by Korn Despite the name of the song, Walk With Me In Hell is actually more of a support song. It was written by the guitarist after he and his wife's first child was stillborn. Ultimately the song is about how everyone has their own struggle or "hell," I'm here for you. Take my hand and we can get through this together. Absolute banger too.
