I had open heart surgery in 2015 to repair the aorta and replace the aortic valve. I was diagnosed in July 2024 with aortic regurgitation and my symptoms have become more severe. I will have to have some kind of surgery or procedure done. I prefer to have a procedure done instead of having surgery due to my age (70). The two procedures I want to discuss with my cardiologist is TAVR or Paravalvular leak closure. Could you explain the differences? My other question is: If I underwent aorta repair in 2015, is surgery my only option?

I would think SENTINEL DEVICE protecting the brain from debris strokes is always a big concern and should be used in all TAVR procedures.
