From a Yorkshire fishing industry town and Mum used to make this . Burley made me laugh because he reminded me as a child waiting to lick the bowl clean when Mum used bake cakes .

Thank you, Ariel, for every video! I was a bit cranky yesterday (gas prices changing every time I drove by) and again realized I have no control over the craziness. I am a retired teacher from San Diego and now a pet sitter/dog walker in Vermont. I have incredible clients! Lots to be happy for…including your videos. 💚💚💚

I think I would want a couple potatoes in there. That's because the ethnic folks in WI almost always had spuds in the fish boils. It's many less carbs without them I'm sure.

My Nova Scotia relatives used to make this, but they always added some potatoes, cut small to cook quickly! I like it with dill instead of rosemary, but yours looks delicious! I remember your video on making turkey bone broth, and Burley loving the softened bone mush. You canned tomatoes you had bought, one summer, too. Lovely cooking videos. Thank you.

Looks so good. I love making soup because you can add pretty much anything you want, season it now you want. It’s easy and hard to mess up. Thanks for this recipe!!

Thanks for the inspiration on this! I made it tonight and used leeks in place of onions, an albacore tuna loin for the fish, and herbes de Provence. It’s so good!

Your soup looks good, if a bit unorthodox! My Maine in-laws might disown me if I made your version! 🤣😉 I usually make a seafood ‘chowdah’ when we visit grandpa on the coast of Maine the way my wonderful MIL taught me. Sauté equal amounts onion & celery in butter or bacon fat, add seafood stock (or clam juice-store bought), add cut up potatoes, thyme, bay leaf & parsley stems, salt, & pepper - cook about 15 minutes, add seafood (fish, shrimp, scallops-this is a luxury chowdah!) After about 5 minutes, add milk & heat through. Never, ever, tomatoes! Or coconut milk! 😁

As I was viewing this video my husband was grilling fresh tuna. Oh my word! It was delicious! I'd had grilled tuna some 40 yrs ago & it was disgusting! Extremely fishy so wouldn't try it again convinced it was a fishy-fish. I hate I like so little seafood do to the strong fishy taste of some seafood. But, I am putting forth a concerted effort to change that as well as my aversion to mushrooms. I love coconut milk in sauces. I may try substituting coconut milk as you have with your chowder in other soups & sauces as that concept sounds really good!I tried your recipe from another video substituting coconut milk in ranch dressing. It was different, but definitely good. Thanks!!👏👏

I’ve never seen fish chowder soup made in a video. Does coconut milk make the soup taste like coconut? I love fish, so would love to try it with halibut. I also enjoy learning about new spice combinations. The only thing I didn’t like is an animal licking the cutting board. Just me, grosses me out. I’d throw my cutting board. 🤣

when your cooking fish like stews don't stir so hard it will break up your fish stir really gentle and slow that way your stew will look good and not all broke up.

Technically a soup, not a chowder. Still looks delicious!
@TheOtherBill2 жыл бұрын
@Kurt M. Close but not quite. Chowder is a soup thickened with milk or cream, not coconut juice. All chowders are soup, not all soups are chowder.

I am thinking how fish skin just slides off fish meat when heated. I think I would dice it then throw the whole thing in the pot the remove skins as soon as it separates!! I think it would work but then there would be less for animals oops!!!!
