Yes it is sold in a kit, and is a unique design made designed and fully engineered by RCR. The car can be purchased as a roller and also fully built so the kit option is only for diy types.

Thats correct. The alum tub, suspension arms, uprights, rack & pinion, etc. are new, not borrowed from an existing car = kit car. Shocks should be custom valved to a specific car as the oem QA1 shock dyno confirmed. Quite a bit of engineering went into this car. Unlike many kit cars still using steel tubing(heavy, old tech), and many components from an existing car to cut cost. IMO, those manufactures need to step up. We're not in 1960 anymore.

The RCR SLC has not only won multiple races it is a class champion! The road tuned suspension on the car sold for street driving is completely different than the track tuned suspension that wins races. I would love to see a comparison of this suspension to the RCR prepared race suspension.

If you do some reading there isn't much difference actually except the one limits travel and steering a little bit. But also goes all the way up to spherical bearings.

@@001nuttz The owner isn't a pro racer, so it's not in a class, it's just his weekend track warrior. I do know that he absolutely loves it though haha. Been a while since I caught up with him though, this was filmed in 2015, so last time I seen it was probable 2016i'sh... The car still gets around though as it is street registered and road legal.

Not a full tube chasis actually an all aluminium monocoque chasis.

Does this mean that the standard shocks provided with this kit are sub standard and not developed properly ? I am interested because I am thinking of buying one of these kits from R.C.R.

+Toyota Supra Not at all. The RCR supplied QA1 shocks are fine. RCR also offer a set of track focused shocks from Penske... that was the idea of going to the Bilsteins; they are more suited for track/street work..

This RCR SLC is on my build list right after the ultima evo. these two need to be driven side by side. The bilsteins, look forward to the tests and times but at 8 mounths ago hummmmm is this going to happen? popcorn ready!!!!

Fair call, we did in fact go out to Sydney Motorsport Park on three separate occasions to film the testing. Two of the times it rained heavily, and the final attempt the car had some small exhaust leakage issues. Before you know it, 2015 was over! We are definitely going to follow this up again very soon in 2016. Sit tight.
