I published my SLC Build journal in a Amazon Kindle book. The journal is meant to assist and entertain builders of the SuperLite Coupe kit car. It includes detailed instructions, recommendations and over 600 detailed photo of the construction process. The Appendix is a wealth of information on parts you will need, a Porsche transaxle spotters guide, machining process needed for the Porsche transaxle to fit the SLC, maintenance guide, etc. You can find it on Amazon by searching on "car builder journal"
Use KZbin Search to find these videos on this car (KZbin won't let me include URLs):

Yes, the SLC Build Journal is also available in hard copy. Its over 200 pages of details, part numbers, guidance, transaxle selection guide, etc.. It also includes about 400 photos and illustrations. The cost is $75. Send me an email at BillPhillips4@gmail.com.

LMAO why is it husbands are always jamming their wives into trunks? LOL Years ago I Jammed mine into a Fiero GT's trunk. LOL it started off innocently enough with "hey...... I bet I could jam you in there." to which she replied " No you cant. I wouldn't fit!" OH YEAH?!?!? Challenge accepted! "Here; hold my beer!" It was funny as hell. She couldn't stop laughing. Neither could I for that matter! Wound up taking a photo for proof, which disappeared over the years. ;-( But yeah a 5'4 medium build woman with a big ass WILL fit into the trunk of a Fiero!! But you have to fold them up like origami to do it LOL

I thought you was joking about the wife in the trunk. His wife is small. I would never entertain the thought of puting a person in the trunk. This builder sounds like an engineer. This is one of the better builds I've seen on KZbin. Would love to have one of these with a twin turbo LS engine.

Nice car. I would like to see someone try to put a Lamborghini Miura body on a SuperLite chassis. It would be expensive and difficult but you could have a better Miura than the original for less money than a good original.

Great job refining the car to make it more high end and less kit carish. The interior is the best I've seen on one of these and I really like how you made it look like it should on the interior. the gauges and controls have that high end factory look.

Hi Bill. I am extremely interested in purchasing your book! Question about it though. Once downloaded, is it possible to print it so i can i can put it in a 3-ring and leave it in the garage instead of having to keep my ipad on me?
@BillPhillips4

The reason I made the SLC Build Journal a Kindle book is that it is a HUGE document (300+ pages) and is very expensive to print ($150+). There is very little fluff in the SLC Build Journal. It contains hundreds of detailed photos, lots of part numbers, detailed guidance, etc.

Fantastic build. Question, was the closing of the body behind the front wheels a factory build option or something you took upon yourself. Probably my favorite thing about the build, gives it a VERY clean look.
@BillPhillips4
@BillPhillips4 6 жыл бұрын
The space behind the front wheel is open so they can release the body from the mold. I fabricated the block off panel out of fiberglass and blended it in. On a SLC painted in a dark color, that area is not as noticeable. But on a bright yellow car, it really makes a difference in giving the car look finished.
@tynannicholas984
@tynannicholas984 6 жыл бұрын
BillPhillips4 it absolutely completes the car. It’s something subtle, and to most, minor, but it gives it a more finished factory finish. Nice job.

How does the interior 'feel'? I'm curious as to whether or not the OCD builder has an honest chance at makeing the interior 'tight'; not BMW tight but marginaly devoid of annoying creaks, sqwaks, whistles, rattles and drones. Good lookin car brother. Still saving for my kit. Don't worry, I'll buy your book. Great job.
@BillPhillips4
@BillPhillips4 7 жыл бұрын
Once you are seated, there is a surprizing amount of room. It does get a bit tighter with 2 people, as you tent to elbow them when you shift. Also, the driver's side is actually wider than the passenger side. Like any new car build, it takes a while to get all the annoying creaks, sqwaks, whistles, rattles out. You just attack each one until there are none left.
@viasevenvai
@viasevenvai 6 жыл бұрын
I would suggest dynamat to weigh things down for harmonic resistance. A $30,000 car will rattle at some point, a kit car will rattle for sure. Keeping that in mind during the build can at least minimize it, but it won't feel like a luxury car. If you want quiet you might as well buy a Porsche. A $50,000 used 911 would be amazing. And that's what this kit costs with no options.
