Such a wealth of information as I'm just 'getting' heat defiant....and understanding why they never 'worked' in the past. Sad that many who sell wigs from their own shops don't know either-lol. PATTI KNOWS!!! ....and I'm so grateful. Trying to resurrect a couple of HD pieces I'd thrown in a drawer....starting off with a wash and will attempt to follow your instructions into a viable new piece I can wear - exciting and if I'm able to work with this 'new hair', I can add more HD colors & styles. Thank-you Patti.....this is fun and reassuring! BTW - Your hair looks terrific in this video, be it yesterday or years past--classically timeless.

Patti I tried the wig shampoo on my heat defiant from Raquel Welch and did not like the heavy thick feeling after it dried. I recently tried Woolite for delicates. I put a small half cap full in cool water and immersed my wig. Rinsed thoroughly and just let it dry. It came back so soft and the original shine. I put products as little as possible cause they build up.

Patti, what can we use on synthetic units to keep nape hair to keep from tangling so badly or untangle after taking off? Is there a product you suggest?

You can't keep it from happening. Synthetic fiber tangles and frizzes when it touches skin or clothes so they all will do it. The best thing you can do is spray the underside with Jon Renau HD Smooth Detangler each night when you take it off. Then run through a wide tooth comb.

Note to Officially Shoot. Shot in the dark here ha! Ha! But I think that wig is Ignite by Jon Renau in color 12FS8, Patti's favorite color. Bangs could be cut in. Just a guess, check it out. Patti has a video of Ignite and it looked like the one we like.

Ive learned you can keep it nice longer by simply NEVER using a brush and only a very wide tooth comb. If you do nothing else!
