The tragic irony of Chris being the only one in that crew to survive, but not being able to live his life with his family is one of the things that makes this movie great.

Also in the "original script", Voight was supposed to get arrested after the last initial call with Neil.
@Gunleaver
@Gunleaver Ай бұрын
The director, Michael Mann, wrote a sequel novel called "Heat 2", about Chris' next phase of his life, his working abroad to try to build up enough to get his wife and son back. It also has flashbacks to a job the crew pulled years before the movie, so we get so spend some nostalgia with Neil, Michael & Trejo pulling a score with Chris, and see Chris meeting Charlene. The gang crosses paths with a serial killer, who is being hunted by Vincent Hanna. The book climaxes with the serial killer, old stuff from the early job, and Chris and Vincent coming together back in LA, where he's looking to reunite with his family and avenge Neil.

This is the first film DeNiro and Pachino did where they had a scene together. Danny Trejo was a consultant on this film since he'd spent time for bank robbery, it helped start his acting career. ETA Clips of Val Kilmer changing magazines in the big shoot out have been used to teach Marines how to do that in combat. All the actors and the director took a lot of gun training from former soldiers.

I love how Hannah picks up that the coffee shop conversation between Pacino and Dinero is a chance to see into each man's psyche. ------- There is no one else that these men can express their fears to, BEcasue Cops fear criminals and criminals fear cops. ------- To sit across the table from your nemesis is truly profound and to hear its in his DNA to take you down when the opportunity comes. --------- They are both of the flip side of each other's coins of fate. ------ They are the ferryman taking them across the river styxs to fear their end, to face their demise. ------- This is why I love heat, so profound and so intense. Great script writing and movie making.

Hey Toy and Hannah, What makes "HEAT", so intense and amazing is the juxtaposition the audience finds being laid out. --------- The characters have their hopes and family heartbreaks on full display with so many in intimate scenes. --------- Only to have the viewer’s serenity shattered with the sudden terrifying violence made everything feel so realistic and captivating. --------- In the end, Dinero just walks away. If you're gonna live this life you gotta be willing to just walk away. DAMN!!!!

Hey Hannah and Toy, Time to face the Two legenary Dons going toe to toe. And you gals have no idea the level of movie making and acting going on this flick. ------- This is Vito vs Michael Corlenone. The greatest Micheal Mann! All his films must be watched! Starting with Thief! Then Manhunter ..2nd movie in the Hannibal lecktor series after dressed to Kill but before Silence of the Lambs. His use of style, cutting edge characters, fast paced edits, and 80s style electronic music is unmistakable! Ironic parts? One of Pacino's cops is buffalo bill from Silence of the Lambs, and wheelchair guys is the Tooth fairy from Manhunter!😮😮😮. The shootout and retreat scene in the streets, the Army and Marines have been using it for decades, on how to teach soldiers how to break an ambush! Robert in godfather 2, Al in all 3! Val kilmer wanted the part so bad, to work with Micheal Mann and DeNiro and Pacino, he said, I'll do it for no money, as long as I'm on the poster with both of them! Tom sizemore from Saving Private Ryan, the black dude driver from a bunch of movies and the killer TV, multi series drama,24! The young girl was in Leon the Professional, and star wars, Danny Trejo hadn't been out of prison too long, then he gets this movie! The long haired ponytail guy, John Voight, been in too many movies, like the first Mission Impossible, midnight cowboy, Deliverance, been in too many movies, like the first Mission Impossible, and is Anjolina Jolie's Dad! This movie is top ten all time, cops robbers thievery shoot em up movie! It's also the first time, Pacino and DeNiro had scenes together! Black dude in the club is Tone Loc! The guy who made the noise inside the truck is Stephen Ford, president Ford's son and also in Blackhawk Down and so is Tom Sizemore! The guy Pacino is interrogating inside the warehouse room is Hank Azarria, he does most of the voices on The Simpsons!😮😮. I think Kilmer did this movie for free or scale, for 2 reasons. 1, to do a movie with DeNiro and Pacino. 2, he wanted to be in the movie poster with them! The guy who tried to have DeNiro killed is in the cult classic, Go! And Also in Blackhawk Down!😮😮😮 His assistant is Henry Rollins, founding member of the late 70s punk rock band, Black Flag!😮😮😮 Pacino's line, "She's got a great ass! And u got ur head, all the way up in it!" Was add-libbed, and why Hank Azarria's face is in total shock! The black dude cop is Bubba in Forrest Gump! All Michael Mann movies must be watched! Also Michael has been writing a prequel for this for 20 years! The character Neal was based on a real pro bank robber of the 50-60s. Once u watch a couple of his movies, u will always recognize his style!

Hannah, I already liked you...a lot. The fact that you know that Henry Rollins is an actor, musician and author is super impressive. Even though I'm not a huge fan of him, I'm impressed you know him. Also, the girl from the bar (make-out-point girl) is Amy Brenneman. She was in a show called Judging Amy from 1999-2005. Plus, a bunch of other movies and TV shows. She's a great actor. Danny Trejo is the guy Toy recognized. He's in a bunch of movies and usually plays the bad guy. Great actor also. It's nice that Boo made an appearance also.

Al Pacino's character was supposed to be a coke addict. Makes every hyped up scene make sense knowing that

An outsider suddenly entering a crime syndicate's social circle on the verge of a huge robbery, would make a true professional nervous. DeNiro's character was not concerned with his partner's marital problems except how it might affect the operation.

Another amazing reaction from Hannah and Toy. This is one of the greatest crime thrillers. Other movies to check out from De Niro and Pacino. Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, The Godfather 1&2, Carlito's Way, Casino and Scarface.

For Pacino there are a long list of fantastic films to choice from, I'd have to go with Scent of a Woman for the overall impact and drama of the piece. De Niro is another actor with so many magnificent films to choice from, I'd have to go with either A Bronx Tale or Analyze That. A Bronx Tale because it was his efforts in that film that got Chaz Palminteri's story on the scene and Chaz himself into the spotlight, as well as being a tremendous film. Analyze That because while he does play his typical type casted persona, its done with a comedic twist which is a nice change of pace for what you typically see him play. Bonus actor film suggestion Val Kilmer in The Saint is a masterpiece.

"Righteous Kill" (2008) "Goodfellas" (1990) based on real events "A Bronx Tale" (1993) "Casino" (1995) based on real events "The Score" (2001) "Mary Shelly's Frankenstein" (1994)
