I overworked my back by doing too much exercise suddenly without warm up in march. My lower back pained for a 1-2 days badly. But it got better in 3-4 weeks.. but I had a little problem bending and pain only if I bended too much. Since I felt better I started rigourous exercise again in mid april.. and since then by lower back is again paining when I bend a little. It seems like a strained lower back since there's no radiating pain in my legs. I feel I have reinjured the back. Also, my back feels stiff and I can't bend it a lot, it feel as if spine is protruding out. Feels like it is a lumbar strain. Can u suggest me a treatment since its not safe to visit hospitals during this pandemic. I am 19 years of age. I would be really grateful sir.

I used ice several times to reduce some of back pain, but it didnt work, later I used heat packs which worked within 20 minutes, now it may vary people to people. But as I can confirm heat works not ice for me.
@DrBrandonNevel3 жыл бұрын
Yes, it varies from person to person and a lot is based on what is causing the back pain. I find more chronic issues respond best with heat if there isn’t a lot of inflammation.

Sir..I have tailborn pain.that what I should? Ice pad or hit pad?
@DrBrandonNevel3 жыл бұрын
You need to figure out what the tailbone pain is caused by before recommending ice or heat. I would recommend seeing a doctor or other health care professional.

What is good for low back inflammation?
@DrBrandonNevel3 жыл бұрын
Ice usually works best for inflammation

Hi, I missed applying ice the first 3 days, I still have acute pain. Do you still suggest using ice or just heat? Thanks.
@DrBrandonNevel2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I would need a lot more info and need to perform an exam before I could give you specific recommendations. Have you seen a doctor and been given a diagnosis?

Yes video was helpful have had shoulder soreness which the rehab people said was a shoulder impingement.....didn’t say ice or heat....I play a racket sport and have soreness after....ice for the first 24 hours seems to help...what do you think
@DrBrandonNevel5 жыл бұрын
While everyone is different, I usually recommend my patients to heat their shoulder prior to playing racquet sports so the the muscles, ligaments, and joints are warm for play. Afterwards, ice the shoulder to reduce pain and inflammation caused from playing. Shoulder impingement can affect overhead motions like serving in tennis so limiting these might help as well.

If my elbow is sore due to wrong position while sleeping or got too many stress. It had been more than 4 days.. it feels burning .. should i use ice?
@DrBrandonNevel4 жыл бұрын
If your elbow is inflammed, I would use ice for a couple days and see how it responds. Burning can also be a variety of conditions but often is related to nerve irritation. Does you neck, shoulder, or wrist hurt as well? If the burning continues, you should see a sports doctor to evaluate your injury.

@@DrBrandonNevel i did some stretches to eliminate pain in shoulder n neck

The neck and shoulder often radiate into the arm and elbow. If stretching is helping, keep it up. Try some heat before stretching to relax the muscles.

My back hurts when I bend forward and I can’t bend at all. This happen for about 3-4 days and it doesn’t get better. I tried doing some exercises but it gets worse. I even feel pain when I lie down what should I do since it’s the pandemic and I can’t go out at all. Please help me.
@DrBrandonNevel4 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to hear you're in pain. There are many things that could be wrong with your back so giving recommendations without more info and seeing you is tough. I assume the pain is in your low back? Does it travel into your hips or legs? What aggravates it and what makes it feel better? Lumbar nerves can get irritated periodically, especially if the joints are not moving properly. Once you feel safe from the pandemic, you should get evaluated by a physical therapist and/or chiropractor. In the mean time, try using heat for 15 minutes, then do some light stretching (as long as it doesn't recreate pain), and then 20 minutes of ice. Using a TENS unit to block pain signals often helps with back pain too.
@Nita-pb3yk4 жыл бұрын
Dr. Brandon Nevel Yes it’s my lower back. both of my hips hurt when I lift them up and walk. I did some exercises and even tried walking for about an hour. It doesn’t hurt when I lie down anymore.
@DrBrandonNevel4 жыл бұрын
@@Nita-pb3yk I would get checked out when its safe to do so, alot of doctors are still open during the pandemic. If it doesn't recreate pain, try stretching the low back, hip flexors, hamstrings, and piriformis muscles. If stretching or certain motions recreate the pain, stop. Good luck!
